- Hollis Loudon Puig is an Interior Designer who lives in a magical home in upstate New York. The 1968 center hall colonial has been a true labor of love for her. I love that she used Jane Churchill's Alice in Wonderland print by Cowtan & Tout (1992) in her butler's pantry. I used the fabric for my guest room in 1993 and it remains my favorite room. It's a cheerful fabric for a happy space.

This to date is my favorite of this channel's featured designs and makeovers. The renovations and designs are stunning and exquisite and still livable (not a showroom). I’ve watched a billion house and condo tours on a billion channels, and this is one of my favourites so far. I’m blown away! Her style reminds me a lot of Tony Duquette … it’s so stunning and maximalist. I love it so much.

I am in love with this house. At first I was taken aback because of the mixed patterns and colors. As I continued following from one room to another, I was enthralled.😀
This house is decorated with so many marvelous items and heirlooms. I am a maximalist, so this video was heavenly for me to watch. I love Hollis's explanations of where she acquired certain furniture and paintings. My favorite area of the house is the Red Room, where she has all of her mother's antique Christmas ornaments. Love, love, love this!

I personally thought it was wild and wondrous but wondered if a guy would be comfortable. If anywhere they probably would be most relaxed in the green room which was very gender neutral.

I love colour and I'm a fan of Frida Kahlo, Gauguin, and Van Gogh so that was a joy to watch. I totally agree with bamboo blinds. I love them too.
A really wonderful tour! I love the idea of giving each room its own identity. Home tours like this are making me feel like I can be much more daring in my mixing of colors and patterns. The powder room was my favorite in the house. I think that's a great place to start if you want to go all-in but aren't ready to make the whole house so bright or busy (or you don't have the budget to do a larger space right away).

Matchy matchy makes me feel really ill in a home. This home works really well, we get tired of houses that are 'done' by some neutral boutique hotel designer, same old same old. I love the patterns here and the personal touches that 'go' because they 'don't go ' ! If you love everything you choose and own then it will all go together. It's really hard not to match stuff and not to stick to a theme and improvise, good job !

Less is less... Less is a quick moment, a staged appearance, a one stop shop fits all approach, that minimally furnishes an entire space! Less is less defines a space using a bland palette, and a simplistic approach that invokes the barest and most minimal of warmth, and dulls the senses!

I'm so heartened to have a designer affirm my preference for diversifying style and color from room to room! Not for me a through-line of neutrals or a single color palette. And I'm so glad she didn't tie herself to the Colonial aesthetic of the architecture.

I think every home needs a little bit of leopard. I have leopard sofa pillows that I bought at Walmart about 15 years ago (before the Better Homes and Gardens phase now running at WM) and they are gorgeous and not tacky at all!
