To all the young SDs trying to pull of any sort of an edgy, boyish, careless look - it does not work in your favour. Took me years to accept that and start wearing things that suit my physique.
Yes! I wish I knew this so much earlier. All my time in college I thought I just needed to be skinnier to pull off the cool edgy androgynous look... turns out I just needed to dress in a completely different style.
I never liked that style. I’ve personally always dressed “sexy”. Whenever I try the careless look with simple makeup. I look dumb 😂 But I’m okay with that. I personally prefer soft glam makeup and something that hugs my curves and accentuates my boobs, waist, and butt.
For any of you that are now dressing for this body type... do you shop in any particular store or do you search different stores? I'm am just now realizing this is my body type and I have no idea where to shop. In the US right now this 90s grunge or early 2000s look is trending. 🙄
@@Christina-pv5yq you may have to “age up” in terms of where you shop. I’m in my early 30s so not young in the trendy fashion sense but I have no issues finding clothing that fits the SD archetype. The brands I shop are not geared at youth fashion though, more like the working professional brands.
Finally! Soft dramatic is the least talked about Kibbe because it’s not that’s common. Sofia Vergara and Monica Bellucci are also this type. I’m a soft dramatic so I’m excited to watch this 😄
@@anastasiarenaud2568 yes those two as well but Tyra as beautiful as she is has a chaotic off duty style and even her red carpet looks can be hit or miss. 😕

Sophia Loren is also very kind hearted. In south Australia we had a young girl who was burnt in a fire at her school and was unfortunately later hit by a car, too. Sophia visited her in hospital and gave the girl her diamond earrings wishing her to get well soon. Such a lady; all class.
When you mentioned that SD’s look their best with contrasted hair, that reminded me of how Christina Hendricks dyed her hair red from being a natural blonde, and looked so much better!
I’m a soft dramatic and 60s Sophia has been an inspiration to my style for years 💜 I always thought she looked simultaneously large and voluptuous & soft and dainty. Her aura was immaculate and you captured it so well, it’s making me want to watch one of her movies again
Oh my god finally the queen of kibbe system is giving a soft dramatic video ! I've been watching the same 5 videos all over youtube about it since six months can't wait to see it ! Love you Aly !
I’m a soft dramatic and since the pandemic I haven’t been able to get a haircut for months and my hair is so long and my bangs grew out. My husband is crazy about my new long full wavy hair. (My hair is straight when it’s short.) Maybe I’ll try this elongated Sophia Loren eyeliner, see how he likes that 😂
Lol same! My hair has natural waves and middle bang that sweeps to that side.I got a small layered hair cut with long bangs (down to my cheekbones) trust me! Longer bangs look amazing on us! ^^
I wonder if anyone else just as me notes the yin aspect of Soft Dramatic first, and the dominant yang secondly? What I often notice is that yin makes Soft Dramatic features way less angular than in pure Dramatic type. I also think Soft Dramatic looks slightly wider than pure Dramatic. That's why I often confuse Flamboyant Natural and Soft Dramatic types.
She is beyond beautiful... I watched many interviews of her in different languages and from different decades... she has an angelical voice, so classy, serene.
I love her natural curvy body, I know she wore a corset often but still she looks so great 😊 She has this beautiful feminine face and when she was posing for pics she was showing kind of a masculine side, that's so interesting
I like the fitted at the ankle and/or shortened pants but I always heard they were prohibited to Soft Dramatics and that we should always wear straight/bootcut/flared pants. Nice to hear we SDs can wear it without looking weird!
I would think as long as the foot looks lengthened or open through the ankle it should work on us. That's why the flats/sandle cigarette pant looks good but a sneaker with a cropped pants might look not as good. Pointy shoes especially imo!
i always felt like my body was almost the same as sophia loren's body, (i'm 5'8" too), and now that i described that we both are soft dramatics i feel so happy and seen 🥰🥰🥰
I'm so thrilled about this video! I am a Soft Dramatic and just 2 days ago I was trying to do some Spring/Summer wardrobe updating but so much is flowy, delicate, and unstructured. I thought to myself, "I need some Sophia Loren inspiration!"

Sophia look exactly like my grandma every thing even the shape of her chin, smile, eyes 🧓😂😂 I'm soft dramatic too with sharp features. This video makes is great ❤️
I'm a Soft Dramatic who tried to get into modelling when I was younger. They liked my height but not my fleshiness that I had on my bust, hips, thigh's and butt. Even though I was a UK size eight I could never get rid of the softness no matter what I did. I was told to focus my attention towards mens magazines. I eventually just gave up which is fine but if I had understood Kibbie back then it would have made so much more sense. The style in the early 2000's was still very much more interested in Dramatic and Flamboyant body type, nothing wrong with those body types they're stunning but trying to be like them was impossible for me.
I can confirm about hair colours. I have tried brown hair, red and black (the closest to my colour). When I dyed my hair from brown (5.1) to a dark brown (3), the hairstylist told me: "it's impressive how your features change with darker tones (more contrast as I am very pale). It gives you so much strength..." I could see it also with red hair, I tried lighter red (more auburn) and a crimson red, definitely I looked much better with the crimson red. Very useful info, like always 😊
I love your videos! It would be cool if you included a section on how those of us with a different body type could maybe adapt her style to fit us. I'm TR and I tend to love Dramatic type, especially Soft Dramatic looks but it does sometimes look too overwhelming on me so I try to get that balance but I'd love to hear your take on it.

It took me forever to finally settle on myself being a soft dramatic. Which is silly bc I’m 6’0 tall and my options are limited. But now that im finally wearing soft dramatic lines I look so much better in my clothes than when I tried dramatic or flamboyant natural.

As a Soft Dramatic, I feel so inspired now! However, I’m not sure if I would look good with a more contrasted hair color. I’m a natural blonde and my skin tone is pretty close to my hair tone.
Same here. I tried deep auburn/chestnut brown for a year...half the time I liked it and half the time it really washed me out. So I went back to blonde. I do dye my brows dark however, regardless of my hair and that adds some contrast
Sophia and Monica Bellucci have been calling out to me and I thought I was a Romantic Dramatic... I’m ready ❤️ I was gonna say that I would overhaul my wardrobe, but it’s already SD ✨✨👏
If you want a pixie or short hair cut, go with layers and a bit of fringe! We have beautiful faces that look good with huge fluffy hair! Don’t be afraid to even go with an anime girl hair style!
Thank you for this, I am definitely a SD but I am not as curvy her. My face isn’t sharp either but my nose is definitely prominent. How can a younger (20) SD dress without looking too mature? I have a baby/ingenue face
We look best in long lines. My go to casual outfit is a pair of leggings (especially flare leggings) and an oversized tee knotted at the waist. Oversized isn’t good for us, but if you give yourself some waist it will look okay. Maybe even a belted bag around the waist. Looks pretty much like what every other casual girl wears but with little SD tweaks. Another trick of mine is a long tank top that is fitted. I pull it down over my bum, and if my tee is white, I’ll wear a black tank under so you’re showing your SD shape through the shirt sort of as well as the tank hugging your bum. Makes a “sloppy” look more wearable for SD.
Aly, I was journaling this morning about SD Sophia Loren attributes that I admire and then you posted this video! My uncle called me “Sophia” when I was in my 20s, I was athletic and voluptuous, long red hair, green eyes and earthy Celtic sophistication. You have made learning so much fun, thank you!!!
Please make a comparison between Soft Dramatic and Dramatic Classic. I see myself as DC, but I am so tall that I should be SD. I think that those 2 types are very simmilar.
Can a soft dramatics have delicate face features like rounded eyes, small rounded lips, squareish round face, soft eyebrows ? My body type perfectly matches the discretion of a soft dramatic im 5,8 With a flushy bust and hips and a small waist but my face is much softer then the soft dramatics ive searched ive been told that my face really resembles drew Barrymore's who i believe is a romantic type
Can you do a video on Short Soft Dramatics? I feel like some of us get placed in Theatrical Romantic because we have width/curves/some sharpness but we don't have the delicate bone structure and Soft Gamine does not fit because we are not youthful/doll like. And soft natural doesn't work either because we lack the bluntness of bones. Romantic gets ruled out too because of the sharpness, especially in our faces.
Wonderful information about how to dress this body type it so difficult to have an hour glass figure and to find the right jeans without looking boxy or have that open space over your bottom and lower back waste without always having to wear a belt. 👈💯⭐🤔⭐💖💖
That is so crazy you said that ! I am a SD and HATE that space between my back and bum. It’s honestly my lease favorite part of my body. My tip to deal with it is long tops which are in our lines anyway. Rather then cutting myself off with a short shirt and high waisted pants I always wear high waisted pants with a longer top.
Amazing video Aly! So inspirational for me as I have worked with you recently and I have the same Kibbe type! May I request you add more accessories on your Pinterest board for this body type, like belts? Also, I have a question about color. Sophia Loren has high contrast yet she looks great in camel and brown. How can I do that? I've been told I have high contrast too and that I need to almost always wear high contrast colors. Terrific work you are doing and I am following! Thank you, Rose
Aly this was incredibly helpful. I just found out I’m a soft dramatic and was having such a hard time finding clothes that didn’t make me look bulky with my prominent shoulders and curves. Having Sofia Loren as an inspiration is so useful thank you!!!!!

All those links in the description 🥺 as a SD thank you Aly!
Yay! I'm a soft dramatic too and she is my style and beauty icon!
This hairstyle looks so good on you!
Some of these dresses and outfits I would LOVE to have and wear… today!
Thank you! It can be hard to dress. I dress so basic b/c I’m so busty and smaller legs hip area. Really hard finding shirts
I hope for the pure Dramatic video you do Lauren Bacall, she is my style icon!
so informative and helpful!
This is why I look best in midi to mid calf tight skirts
You have to follow your body not fashion with this body type
Maybe you could do the same thing for every Kibbe type? I think it would be very interesting!
Aly this was incredibly helpful. I just found out I’m a soft dramatic and was having such a hard time finding clothes that didn’t make me look bulky with my prominent shoulders and curves. Having Sofia Loren as an inspiration is so useful thank you!!!!!
I would love a video on Grace Kelly's style ❤️
