Thank you so much 💕
None of these work. It takes me to a pin about an Asian boy and another one to a pin about nails.
To all the young SDs trying to pull of any sort of an edgy, boyish, careless look - it does not work in your favour. Took me years to accept that and start wearing things that suit my physique.
I'm 26 and have come to accept this in the past couple of years... still have my loose teenage clothes to wear at home at least aha
Yes! I wish I knew this so much earlier. All my time in college I thought I just needed to be skinnier to pull off the cool edgy androgynous look... turns out I just needed to dress in a completely different style.
I never liked that style. I’ve personally always dressed “sexy”. Whenever I try the careless look with simple makeup. I look dumb 😂
But I’m okay with that. I personally prefer soft glam makeup and something that hugs my curves and accentuates my boobs, waist, and butt.
For any of you that are now dressing for this body type... do you shop in any particular store or do you search different stores? I'm am just now realizing this is my body type and I have no idea where to shop. In the US right now this 90s grunge or early 2000s look is trending. 🙄
@@Christina-pv5yq you may have to “age up” in terms of where you shop. I’m in my early 30s so not young in the trendy fashion sense but I have no issues finding clothing that fits the SD archetype. The brands I shop are not geared at youth fashion though, more like the working professional brands.
Finally! Soft dramatic is the least talked about Kibbe because it’s not that’s common. Sofia Vergara and Monica Bellucci are also this type. I’m a soft dramatic so I’m excited to watch this 😄
So is Tyra and the redhead from Madmen. There really arent that many SDs.
@@anastasiarenaud2568 yes those two as well but Tyra as beautiful as she is has a chaotic off duty style and even her red carpet looks can be hit or miss. 😕
I finally figured out that I'm soft dramatic as well.
I'm curious - do you think there are fewer SD women in the general population or that they are under represented in Hollywood / the music industry / the influencer scene?
@@feldthausen I would say it's the latter, I've heard it's actually a common body type especially in some parts of the world.
Aly is the only person that makes the word "flesh" not sound creepy.
Lol 😂 yes
I agree
Makes zero sense
Sophia Loren is also very kind hearted. In south Australia we had a young girl who was burnt in a fire at her school and was unfortunately later hit by a car, too. Sophia visited her in hospital and gave the girl her diamond earrings wishing her to get well soon. Such a lady; all class.
That face. That personality. What a beauty Sophia Loren was!
I can't believe they wanted her to get a rhinoplasty. Her nose is perfect. I am glad she refused.
Still is :)
@@frenchstyle7038 people have told me to get a nose job all my life as well; Sophia Loren gave me a lot of confidence in my natural nose shape!
@@toastedbabybuns1000 too bad we couldn't go back to those ages makeup was so easy then now it's a pile of stuff
Was?? She is!
When you mentioned that SD’s look their best with contrasted hair, that reminded me of how Christina Hendricks dyed her hair red from being a natural blonde, and looked so much better!
I’m a soft dramatic and 60s Sophia has been an inspiration to my style for years 💜
I always thought she looked simultaneously large and voluptuous & soft and dainty. Her aura was immaculate and you captured it so well, it’s making me want to watch one of her movies again
She has a singular beauty, exotic, very memorable!
Oh my god finally the queen of kibbe system is giving a soft dramatic video ! I've been watching the same 5 videos all over youtube about it since six months can't wait to see it ! Love you Aly !
I’m a soft dramatic and since the pandemic I haven’t been able to get a haircut for months and my hair is so long and my bangs grew out. My husband is crazy about my new long full wavy hair. (My hair is straight when it’s short.) Maybe I’ll try this elongated Sophia Loren eyeliner, see how he likes that 😂
That's very interesting ✨
Please let us know how it goes with the liner 🌻
Lol same! My hair has natural waves and middle bang that sweeps to that side.I got a small layered hair cut with long bangs (down to my cheekbones) trust me! Longer bangs look amazing on us! ^^
Me too! I tried to trust the nature and let everything wavy
I'm looking forward to the rest of this series! In my opinion, this is the clearest way to visualise all the Kibbe types and styles
I agree! I can't wait for the theatrical romantic.
I wonder if anyone else just as me notes the yin aspect of Soft Dramatic first, and the dominant yang secondly? What I often notice is that yin makes Soft Dramatic features way less angular than in pure Dramatic type. I also think Soft Dramatic looks slightly wider than pure Dramatic. That's why I often confuse Flamboyant Natural and Soft Dramatic types.
Yes agree. SD here. Soft and feminine Yin is noticed first then a striking Yang vibe second.
SD and curvy FN can be confused for each other sometimes, curvy FNs are squarer.
Look at the handwritten notes next to Aly on the desk. We love a diligent style analyst! 😍
And an amazingly researched and curated video as always.
She is beyond beautiful... I watched many interviews of her in different languages and from different decades... she has an angelical voice, so classy, serene.
I like the fitted at the ankle and/or shortened pants but I always heard they were prohibited to Soft Dramatics and that we should always wear straight/bootcut/flared pants. Nice to hear we SDs can wear it without looking weird!
I would think as long as the foot looks lengthened or open through the ankle it should work on us. That's why the flats/sandle cigarette pant looks good but a sneaker with a cropped pants might look not as good. Pointy shoes especially imo!
I love her natural curvy body, I know she wore a corset often but still she looks so great 😊 She has this beautiful feminine face and when she was posing for pics she was showing kind of a masculine side, that's so interesting
I'm soft dramatic and needed this so much! Thank you Ally for helping us understand our look so we can feel beautiful!
I personally feel soft dramatics are pretty rare, not gonna lie little envious of their height and flesh hehehe... but also happy with my own body type which is soft natural.
Aly thankyou so much for your constant efforts can't wait for more kibbe videos have a safe trip 😊
I'm SD but I'm absolutely obsessed with so many SN beauties, y'all are gorgeous. My favorites are Natalie Martinez, Julie Andrews, Helen Mirren, Kat Dennings, Katy Perry, Madhuri Dixit and Aishwarya Rai (sorry for the multiple names I couldn't choose just a few lol)
@@shironerisilk Don't be sorry ik they are all so beautiful , every body type has its own beauty they are all beautiful 💙😊
@@shironerisilk I think that Agnetha Faltskog of the group ABBA, is Soft Dramatic as well. But she looks very ethereal, as opposed to Sophia Loren.
Oh yeah, I think we’re rare too because I always thought something was wrong with me until just now. People have always seen my type as so glamorous while I poked at myself in the mirror 😿🙄 I feel better now thanks☺️
For a long time I thought that I was a pure dramatic because I'm very thin and was flat chested but even being thin I had curves specially on hips, I realized that I fit better in soft dramatic kibbe and I'm LOVING IT ❤️❤️❤️
Same!
i always felt like my body was almost the same as sophia loren's body, (i'm 5'8" too), and now that i described that we both are soft dramatics i feel so happy and seen 🥰🥰🥰
She is gorgeous! God make each of us unique! I am happy she stayed true to herself !!! Beautiful inside and out !!!❤
😍😍😍
I am a soft dramatic and Sophia is my biggest inspiration!
I am here since the very first body type videos, and just today I realised I am not classic at all, but soft dramatic. Oh god here I go again rewatching every single episode.
I'm so thrilled about this video! I am a Soft Dramatic and just 2 days ago I was trying to do some Spring/Summer wardrobe updating but so much is flowy, delicate, and unstructured. I thought to myself, "I need some Sophia Loren inspiration!"
You are so good at educating us, and especially keeping these timeless beauties alive for our generation. Thank you! xo
Amazing how different we are but I still can see myself in those clothes or makeup
Also features are different but somewhat the same
Really weird since I don't see women of my body type that often
Amazing video! Would love to see more of Kibbe's main example of types to be done like Vivien Leigh for theatrical romantic.
Beautiful analysis as always! Thank you Aly!
Thank yoU!!!
During one day I found my body style thanks to you. I am soft dramatic and everything became clear. I always wanted to wear short flared dress like my friends when I was a teenager. You can imgaine... I looked as I borrow it from younger sister...
Please do this with all the body types! ☺️💖
Sophia look exactly like my grandma every thing even the shape of her chin, smile, eyes 🧓😂😂 I'm soft dramatic too with sharp features. This video makes is great ❤️
Ah, love that brown-purple color for eye shadow, it's the best!! Thanks for all the intelligence you put into your pieces.
Good for her for not changing her nose! It looks perfect with her strong features :D
From the same gene pool (I'm talking about face only): Linda Evangelista, Milla Jovovitch, Gretha Cavazzoni - if fascinates me how they all look like they could be related to one another
Linda Evangelista with that red hair in the 90s was everything 🔥
Aly, I was journaling this morning about SD Sophia Loren attributes that I admire and then you posted this video! My uncle called me “Sophia” when I was in my 20s, I was athletic and voluptuous, long red hair, green eyes and earthy Celtic sophistication. You have made learning so much fun, thank you!!!
My mom always told me I remind her of Sophia as well, and I found out we have the same body type lolll
Thank u so much for this! U r revolutionary to the makeup/style artist industry
Thank you! I'm soft dramatic and I love 50s-60s fashion, this will give me inspiration!
Loving your hair and make, just gorgeous! Also love your Kibbe analysis!
I have to say, it's always extra nice to see a notification for a video on your own body type 😊
Wait for Brigitte Bardot style!
Yesss 😍
No wonder I have always loved oversized sunglasses
I’ve been dying for a Soft Dramatic video! Thank you Aly!
I'm a Soft Dramatic who tried to get into modelling when I was younger. They liked my height but not my fleshiness that I had on my bust, hips, thigh's and butt. Even though I was a UK size eight I could never get rid of the softness no matter what I did. I was told to focus my attention towards mens magazines. I eventually just gave up which is fine but if I had understood Kibbie back then it would have made so much more sense. The style in the early 2000's was still very much more interested in Dramatic and Flamboyant body type, nothing wrong with those body types they're stunning but trying to be like them was impossible for me.
I love this video, Sophia Loren is so beautiful ! and Thanks to the body types series, I was able to find my body type (which is soft dramatic) and learn what suits me better and find inspiration, thanks Ally 💕 keep doing amazing videos ♥️
Dear Aly, love your look in this video!
Amazing video so far. I would love a video like this about dramatic classics
Can you do one for Audrey Hepburn for flamboyant gamines :)? That would be the best.
Has Aly announced her new type? I’ve missed a few videos but I remember that she said she was going to retype herself!
She a gamine I’m pretty sure
Sophia is such an icon, i wish o could build my own signature so well as she did
I avoided high neck jumpers for years (big boobs = bulky ) but as an SD i can actually pull it off and love them now
Liking & commenting before watching just to first show some love for the special feature of soft dramatics. Thank you, Aly!
The female celebrities with this body type (SD) are so glamorous!
Sophia Loren, Catherine Zeta Jones, Monica Bellucci, Rachel Weisz...They are all Divas!
It took me forever to finally settle on myself being a soft dramatic. Which is silly bc I’m 6’0 tall and my options are limited.
But now that im finally wearing soft dramatic lines I look so much better in my clothes than when I tried dramatic or flamboyant natural.
Thank you for this!! I am a soft dramatic myself and Sophia Loren is one of my biggest fashion inspirations 🥰
I love your videos! It would be cool if you included a section on how those of us with a different body type could maybe adapt her style to fit us. I'm TR and I tend to love Dramatic type, especially Soft Dramatic looks but it does sometimes look too overwhelming on me so I try to get that balance but I'd love to hear your take on it.
Some of these dresses and outfits I would LOVE to have and wear… today!
She looks younger in the 60's than in the 50's this video shows the power of the right makeup on a face.
So glad you're back😍
I'm waiting for soft classiiiiiiic! 😍😍😍
I can confirm about hair colours. I have tried brown hair, red and black (the closest to my colour). When I dyed my hair from brown (5.1) to a dark brown (3), the hairstylist told me: "it's impressive how your features change with darker tones (more contrast as I am very pale). It gives you so much strength..." I could see it also with red hair, I tried lighter red (more auburn) and a crimson red, definitely I looked much better with the crimson red. Very useful info, like always 😊
I can't wait to watch this! I don't have time atm, so I've saved it for later. I feel like us SD are underrepresented.
Thank you from soft dramatic! Feel more confident after that kind of videos and very inspired.)) Maybe someone has the tutorial video about bold volumed hairstyle for ourdays?
Omg this is sooo cooooool cant wait for this series😍😍
Pleaaaase do that for soft naturals. That’s awesome
I'M IN LOVE WITH YOUR MAKEUP HERE!
Trying it for sure
Spasiba
Wonderful information about how to dress this body type it so difficult to have an hour glass figure and to find the right jeans without looking boxy or have that open space over your bottom and lower back waste without always having to wear a belt. 👈💯⭐🤔⭐💖💖
That is so crazy you said that ! I am a SD and HATE that space between my back and bum. It’s honestly my lease favorite part of my body. My tip to deal with it is long tops which are in our lines anyway. Rather then cutting myself off with a short shirt and high waisted pants I always wear high waisted pants with a longer top.
She is AMAZINGLY beautiful I LOVE her in long hair!
This hairstyle looks so good on you!
your videos are so calming :)
what a beautiful woman! she could play a greek goddess in movies, no questions. also aly, thank you for your work here on youtube and pinterest, i watch every video.
Thank you. I think your videos are amazing. I’m a soft dramatic and was inspire’d to start my own videos because of you. Much respect 😍
I love your hair and lipstick.😮
As a Soft Dramatic, I feel so inspired now! However, I’m not sure if I would look good with a more contrasted hair color. I’m a natural blonde and my skin tone is pretty close to my hair tone.
Same here. I tried deep auburn/chestnut brown for a year...half the time I liked it and half the time it really washed me out. So I went back to blonde. I do dye my brows dark however, regardless of my hair and that adds some contrast
Thank you! It can be hard to dress. I dress so basic b/c I’m so busty and smaller legs hip area. Really hard finding shirts
All those links in the description 🥺 as a SD thank you Aly!
Amazing video! Would love to see more of Kibbe's main example of types to be done like Vivien Leigh for TR.
It would be great!
This is great Aly, very excited for these series!
I love you Aly!!! ♥️ Keep up the hard work
Sophia and Monica Bellucci have been calling out to me and I thought I was a Romantic Dramatic... I’m ready ❤️ I was gonna say that I would overhaul my wardrobe, but it’s already SD ✨✨👏
This was amazing! Will head straight to Pinterest. :)
I always found my body slightly different especially when I was a teen because my features always made me look older than my age but after I found my kibbe type which is SD I understand why lol
Same
Great job as always Aly! Cant wait for Maria Callas or Brigitte Bardot!
Sophia Loren is an icon
If you want a pixie or short hair cut, go with layers and a bit of fringe! We have beautiful faces that look good with huge fluffy hair! Don’t be afraid to even go with an anime girl hair style!
Could you do a video on soft dramatic makeup and hair for darker skinned black and Asian ladies?
I hope for the pure Dramatic video you do Lauren Bacall, she is my style icon!
so informative and helpful!
Thank you for this, I am definitely a SD but I am not as curvy her. My face isn’t sharp either but my nose is definitely prominent.
How can a younger (20) SD dress without looking too mature? I have a baby/ingenue face
We look best in long lines. My go to casual outfit is a pair of leggings (especially flare leggings) and an oversized tee knotted at the waist. Oversized isn’t good for us, but if you give yourself some waist it will look okay. Maybe even a belted bag around the waist. Looks pretty much like what every other casual girl wears but with little SD tweaks. Another trick of mine is a long tank top that is fitted. I pull it down over my bum, and if my tee is white, I’ll wear a black tank under so you’re showing your SD shape through the shirt sort of as well as the tank hugging your bum. Makes a “sloppy” look more wearable for SD.
Dark bright lipstick looks really nice on you 🥰
I love your look today
Great video as usual, thank you ❤️
According to Sophia (autobiography) her make up artist found out the look in the 60´s and she has started the trend.
I love Sophia and I've been waiting for you to do this video!
Also your lipstick colour is so lovely, what is it?
Best video about classic idol of beauty! Your videos are the best ! Really! Especially for people who study about cinema ,fashion and art !
Thank you so much for this detailed video! Very helpful to pay attention to the bone structure. But in my opinion, shortened pants look very off on me as a SD, because it kind of disturbes the balance. Same goes for turtleneck anything, especially with a long, thin neck and a large bust. But maybe thats just me. There ist still so much variation within the types. Again, thanks Aly, you are the best when it comes to analyzing bodys and faces!
Yay! I'm a soft dramatic too and she is my style and beauty icon!
I would love a video on Grace Kelly's style ❤️
Please make a comparison between Soft Dramatic and Dramatic Classic. I see myself as DC, but I am so tall that I should be SD. I think that those 2 types are very simmilar.
I think blonde hair really ages most people, makes them look dead sometimes. I wouldn't go for it unless I already had natural medium/light hair or very soft features, like Marylin for exemple
I don't agree at all, but that depends on what you look like. Also "most" people is a question of definition. There are loads of people who look younger and fresher in blonde.
I think it depends on the shade of blonde and on the skin tones.
Platinum blonde looks great on very pale, kinda pinkish people, and it also creates an interesting contrast on very dark people, with matte, ebony-like skin.
Ash-blonde fits people with softer coloring, like beige tones, or soft browns.
For golden-blonde, or strawberry-blonde, or golden-brown, one should already have golden tones in their skin in order to complete the look, so to say.
But generally speaking, yes, I know what you mean. I also have the feeling blonde ages a lot, or at least that is what I saw at naturally dark-haired people who went blonde, or got blonde highlights. Maybe blonde simply did not suit them, or maybe they just picked the wrong shade of blonde; I couldn't tell. I just know I am naturally dark, and despite my hairstylist insisting I should go lighter, like ash-blonde, hazelnut, or copper, I feel it would not suit me, and would only take away the contrast in my coloring.
@@NightFeline I agree, I think the problem is mostly with platinum blond and very pale blonds in general. In my opinion the only people who look good with platinum blond.. are naturally platinum blonde people. Others shades could work better, but anyways if you are high contrast I find so much prettier just sticking to darker colors
@@NightFeline Yes, exactly! And the technique is also important, soft or high contrast highlights. Also, dark roots looks very different from same-color-hair; blonde hair with dark roots would work for a lot of people.
And as you say, shade matters. Like... google ”blonde shades”, look at the pictures. Harvest blonde/dark blonde is really not unacheivable for most people. I’d say those blonde tones works for many!
And even the lighter ones would work on many naturally dark haires people, of course depending on how it’s done!
Really depends on people, my sister looks great with very light blonde hair while the same color makes me look toned down.
thank you so much it was really interesting we are waiting for marliyn Monroe and Elisabeth taylor
Some modern day examples would be interesting too!
