Looks great, I’m about to tackle this cockpit to go in Subaru 99, I think I’ll cut it to size first and then paint it which I wouldn’t have known to do if I hadn’t watched your video so thank you 🙏 I’m not good at the painting but really enjoy it 🤷🏻♂️ cheers and I really enjoy your channel 🍻
Great video! I think they look spot on and far better than i could have done. I probably wouldn't have the patience to do it, to be honest. Anyhoo, you pulled it off. Brilliant!!👍
Sets it off a treat Glenn, the more painting you do the better you'll get. Great content as usual... My painting skills never match what's in my head, but once they've had a bit of a bashing it doesn't seem to matter.
the things behind the seats aren't strengthening bars ,they are the seatbelts going to the rear firewall seat mounts ,in the days before they used seatbelt bars as part of the cage ,
Great tutorial Glenn. I think it turned out great! I really like pouring myself into a painting project , one for the relaxation aspect , and two , for learning new techniques . Those driver kits look to be a perfect platform to do both of these things without costing a fortune if you make a mistake. Plus any mistakes can be fixed with some primer and a " re-do"👍
Donovan Gladden You’re absolutely right my friend, that much so that I’ve got another one to do, and dare I say it I’m quite looking forward to it 😊. Thanks for watching buddy 👊🏻
Very nice, Glenn! I had exactly the same issues with my cockpit in my Subaru - but as you say, it's well worth the faffing around, as it makes the car look so much more complete! Great looking rally car my friend! :))
Love it! Nothing better than just getting in there and giving it a go, Im the same when it comes to these things except I usually sit around and just find excuses to not do it. Im not the strongest painter myself, but I love to see someone stepping up and giving it a shot. Like you said it is your first one, but I reckon you will revisit this one for sure. Great video mate! 👍🇦🇺
Dude, don’t beat yourself up about it. For starters it’s a bloody massive improvement on an empty cab. It’s also a great blank canvas for tidying up the bits you aren’t happy with as your skills improve. You might find Tamiya paint markers, or artist Acrylic paint pens a better tool for you than brushes. A few minutes with a Black, White and silver pen could dramatically improve on those bits you think could be a bit better.
No worries, you have a great channel here. I’ve got the same interior as you for my yet to be built TT-02 Delta, and I’ve learnt a lot from your video. I’ll probably go with airbrushed acrylics as my more recent history is with Airfix type kits. I have the advantage of loads of different paints so it will be easier to make it more dimensional with shading, washes, dry-brushing etc. Saying that, I’ve more chances to mess it up too 😬 I’m looking forward to your next interior.
It turned out pretty nice man! I have a cockpit sitting waiting to dropped into my TL-01 EVO IV. I think im gonna try using vinyl dye for the base sprays.
You could have cut the entire rear tray off and moved it forward and glued it back on. You'd never see the cut line inside the car. Especially if you filled the seam with body filler then painted. Just something to try on your next one.
My son and I are considering a tt02 Subaru rally car... WWE aren't sure we want to do any rally courses, and definitely won't be racing it or anything... as we already race off-road RC. We have some onroad cars but don't expect to get to drive them really often...we live a few miles from paved roads. We are thinking the Subaru could be fun for driving in various places, and even off of pavement on trails, in the yard, etc... does the tt02 in rally trim do well enough, or should we really be looking at the XV02 for off pavement driving?
Dean Cory Yeah you’re spot on Dean, don’t know if you watch the previous video on this car, but I used these colours so that the cockpit would pop with the brighter colours. Thanks for watching 👊🏻
I’m 14 and this will be my first body to paint and the cockpit too. I am excited but don’t want to mess up!
how did you go bud?
I’m definitely dousing this to my kit! Thanks for the video!
Cockpits really take the vehicle to another level gonna get a couple sets for my next builds 🐼🐼🐼🐼🐼🐼

Brian Argo
Yeah you’re spot on Brian, there’s a decal sheet on eBay for that very thing. I need to order it.
Thanks for watching 😊👊🏻

The Cockpit Sets (rally and LHD/RHD touring car) all fit 190mm and 200mm width shells (using the foam spacers).
Why has this channel have less than 10000 subs
Candida Townsend
I guess I’m not good to watch 😂👊🏻

Im curious if you can have the drivers plus and a dust cover?
Do you have link for where to buy the cockpit please.
What color blue is that on the car? I don't know what blue to paint mine.
How much weight this cockpit? Thanks for the tips
Shouldn't the subaru have a gold spare rim/tire and blue drivers suits and helmets?
Dean Cory
Yeah you’re spot on Dean, don’t know if you watch the previous video on this car, but I used these colours so that the cockpit would pop with the brighter colours.
Thanks for watching 👊🏻
Will that fit the tamiya TT02 1999 impreza monte carlo?
That was a pain to fit. It must some bodies better than others.
Bas Boy RC
Yeah I’ve now got a second one to fit into a Porsche 911, that’s even worse 😬👊🏻
Colin and Nicky's suits were blue just as a heads up. Looking good though mate :)
