Man, Man, Man...I bought my 04, in 04. It had 54 miles and I tell you that right tail light has been nothing but a pain in the tail (light). Bulb after the bulb has gone out, and I purchased several tail light assembles. Your video has me excited about ordering that Dorman repair kit. My daughter just left for work with that same Jeep with the right tail light out. I'm getting that kit and going to make the repair. I will let you know if that solved the problem. Thanks a million.
Had a few where the contact melted into the housing. Lifted contact and used the cut off end to a 1/4 inch spade terminal to shim up. No issues in years. Just another idea to share.
I've been able to go a whole year with my brake light out w/o having a cop pull me over even the Military Police since I work on Government property. Ive only had co-workers comment on it. I just got the circuit in today and luckily I watched this video on what I need to do and not do. Thanks for the help.
Your welcome. Thanks for watching and for commenting. Glad it went well and that the video helped. Make sure to subscribe and check out my other videos when you have time.
coneeded05 Your welcome. Glad to see the part being put to use. Hardest thing is getting the word out. Alot of people still don't know about the kit and a lot don't even know that theirs is broke or missing. Thanks for finding this video and for the comment. Many many thanks Espie! Glad to see that all the videos help out. Last thing I want is to have to rely on someone else when it comes to something I am capable of doing myself. Appreciate the comment and kind words! Make sure to check out my other videos and make sure to subscribe
Just cross over this issue, I removed the Brake light plug and saw one pole bent it, so I pull it up with a flat screw driver and wow, the light turned on. Next, I will remove the whole light assembly. Both sides. I am searching for a GOOD quality brand. *Thanks* very good explain it. Greetings from Toluca Mexico. Didn't know about the heater gun, it's good to tool.
Some times you can get lucky and bending those contacts will work....sometimes not. Thanks for watching and for the comment Mario! I appreciate it and dont forget to subscribe.
I found this video and it helped me, I already know how to repair the brakes lights in my jeep, thank you very much I already subscribed, greetings from south gate
@@MotorCityMechanic I found your code and used it. I also needed 3 sockets that had gotten way to hot and melted a little. Great video. I'm not a Dodge/Jeep fan but my wife wanted a Jeep, sooo, happy wife happy life😂 it also has a electric window/door lock problem I fixed for her using somebody else's video but you probably would have explained it better. Keep up the great work!
you are the MAN. Thanks for the videos.I have a 2002 300M which I love. It has 98000 miles and I am original owner, my question is replacing the timing as easy as it seems in the videos I have seen or not. I do have a mechanical background. What do you Recommend?
I have done a video on the 3.5 timing belt replacement......on yours....its even easier. You dont have to remove the balancer unless you want to. The lower timing cover is made of multiple pieces so you can take the two lower halves offer and then cut the old belt off....then the short cut comes into play....with the balancer on....you can actually work the new timing belt in and around the back side of the balancer and into place. I miss those jobs....dont see any 300M's coming in anymore :( . Thanks for the question and make sure to subscribe.....also, here is a link to the 3.5 video that I did.....yours well be slightly different but fundamentally the same ua-cam.com/video/sp3JuaAvCx8/v-deo.html
Ok you replace this part, does it solve problem of the light bulbs, heating up the socket hole and warping it again...???? This is definitely something Jeep should be made to correct at there cost !!!
this part costs around $22 now. if you don't have a heat gun, some good gloves, nice adhesive, and a workbench, you're better off just buying the whole housing with a new PC board (costs about $38).
I hear that alot but as you mentioned....the repair kits is where I stand behind them. I hate to hear something has to be replaced when its just something cheap and simple to fix it....thats when Dorman comes in. No one else does that as far as I know.
thank you thank you thank you , saved me a bundle , howeveer my daughter destroy the dang tail light first solo drive ha ha ha (laughing on the outside , cruing on the inside)
My mothers the socket fell apart. Going to get a replacement socket to see if that is all that is required. Otherwise vehicle is so old that there is an abundance of these at the junk yards for far cheaper. 😜

Just follow the steps in the video and also the specs that I gave and you will be fine. As far as the being the issue......it may need further checking. Usually if the solenoid pack is the issue then you will have only second gear so that the car can still be driven. I would think that the issues your having would possibly set a code.
Sir just a question I have a 2015 Dodge Ram 2500 and the " Service Air Bag System " message comes on for about 5-6 seconds then goes off. Is there a interval that the system has to be serviced?
Damian Smith The only time you get that message is when there is an issue with the air bag system. There will be a code or codes set when this happens. You will need to have the codes retrieved and then go from there.
Not sure if a hair blow dryer will give off enough heat but it might. Otherwise a heat gun can usually be bought for about $10 at harbor freight if need be. Thanks for asking and make sure to subscribe.

I found that by just lifting up the metal contact tabs with a small screw driver, all was fine again. Zero cost
That works for a few years. lol. Now I have to order this kit.
Great info. Thanks.
