      brother let me ask for an info?.
      can a person who is at the age of 28 is able to learn taekwondo?.
      I have never been to any training school nor we have such the luxurious facilities for training over here?, but my main concern is the 1st question. Help me with the answer

      You will fall in love with it. I urge you to try it, but might I add, it comes with it's own complexities and discipline. The grace is one of a kind.

    After 1948.
    By the order from a Korean military regime, the Korean called Shotokankarate tekkyun.
    The Korean added showy movement to it, and it became the taekwondo.
    Taekwondo is the political sports that there are not a religious tradition and a historic battle background at all.
    Still.
    In Korean historical materials, tekkyun is specified as play.

    Agreed. General Choi is not the sole founder of Taekwondo, but I understand he was the leader of the group of martial artists convened to unite the Korean martial arts, and to create and formalize Taekwondo.
    I wasn't implying that he was the only one; I was simply replying to the comment made by @TheHailstorm77.

    Kyung I know you're Korean and you're trying to be very proud of your heritage and there is nothing wrong about it but Taihuu is right. Taekwondo is a modern art. It is not deprived from Takkyun or Sabuk. General Choi. Look him up is the founder of Taekwondo. During WWII, he went to Japan to study Shotokan Karate and received 10th degree black belt. He brought it to Korea and didn't want people to think it came from Japan. Why do you think the stances, block and punches are identical to Karate?

  • @XEA6L
    @XEA6L 12 років тому

    I agree with your statement that TKD is based on Shotokan (GM Choi said so himself) .However, direct me toward any evidence of Choi being a Karate 10th dan; as far as I can remember, he reached 2nd dan in Shotokan before returning to Korea. Also, WTF and ITF are both legitimate martial arts...don't be taken with the sport aspect of TKD, that is not all, just one side of the coin. For proof, find a good TKD instructor; he/she can show you. Taekkyon and Subak are legitimate martial arts as well.

    @KYUNGILNAM
    The history education to children by the Korean government makes ends meet by ignoring the historical materials.
    The Korean historical materials written tekkyun as martial arts exist nowhere.
    tekkyun is written in "「朝鮮王室儀軌」the Korea Royal Family ritual rule" as "game".
    "The Korea Royal Family ritual rule「朝鮮王室儀軌」" is a record of a ceremony and the party carried out in the palace of the joseon dynasty.
    tekkyun is written as game where yangban was idle. .

    Taekwondo is a hybrid of Karate just like Karate is a hybrid of Kung Fu. Please educate yourself. Korea never had any martial arts system. The so called Tekkyun and Saibuk are the military arts but never a martial art that came from Kung Fu or Karate. General Choi founded Taekwondo after receiving 10th degree black belt in Karate. The original outfit he wore was a Karate outfit. Know the truth. Until WTF and ITF had differences, the outfits were modified. One focused on sport and other forms.
