    Emil is fast and a good fighter. But every video is just him showing his skills. He named this "basic" and I was wanting to see his teachings. But it's always just him showing off..

      +J_Chambs I know he looks impressive with the speed and the trapping, but there are better people out there that actually want to share information. If you haven't seen Lee Morrison you should check him out. He doesn't call what he does JKD, but "Urban Combatives". However, I think his system more accurately embodies the fundamental principles of JKD than many so called JKD practitioners. It's very obvious he's been influenced by Bruce's writings. Also, he's been a bouncer and a bodyguard, so he has real life experience. His approach is simplistic, but not too simple. Movements are economized when they can be. He addresses the psychological aspects a fight. His approach to grappling isn't the sporty BJJ that is so common, but more along the lines of "Rough and Tumble" fighting. Check him out. There are TONS of informative vidoes he has out. Or you can continue watching the endless stream of JKD wannabe's that over-do the wing chun and under-do the boxing, throw way too many flashy high kicks, and forget that Bruce Lee did know grappling --- in the Tao of JKD there are numerous illustrations of holds common in Judo and Catch Wrestling. Some of the information in the Tao of JKD are taken straight up old boxing texts from Dempsey, Haislet, etc.

    It does not matter how many martial arts you know
    You must not show that you know
    With all due respect to you for the investment
    But it's better to do it to yourself
    So be yourself
    Modesty above everything else.
    Thank you

    Pretty good demo I think, you're helping is an absolute classic jumping around like that made me lol, I can see nothing wrong with what's being done, after all it's a demo, not death match

  • @joelpocalips
    @joelpocalips 8 років тому

    fast hands. amazing. I'd like to see the demos done with the partner (attacker) advancing instead of standing there taking the hits. Although, I would imagine that it would be too much to take. i guess it could only be done that way in a real confrontation, and i would think that you're not the kind of man that would go pick a fight for the sake of a demo. fantastic video though.

    Why can't people just say something positive or nothing at all and move on to something else? I was just going to say "Sounds like a bat hitting a ball at a game". But than I read what Corea said. 1, You're watching a video and have NO clue who his partner is or anything about him. 2, Have you ever been hit with pads on by a high level Martial artist? I'm 47 and training with all kinds of martial arts. I can tell you from experience that getting hit by a top level fighter with pads on is like getting hit by a bullet with a bulletproof vest on. If you reply "well I've been hit with a pad on and it didn't affect me like that." Or "I've hit people with a pad on and it didn't affect them like that." Then maybe you need to step back and take a good look at who's doing the hitting.

    • @cadkls

      +Big Mayne Just isn't practical enough, after the first hit they are going to raise their arms in defence, and unless they're a pussy the first hit isn't going to take them out of a fight. It doesn't work like that, it simply isn't how real life and biology work, people have these things called reflexes.

    • @Jay-zs6ox
      @Jay-zs6ox 7 років тому +1

      +cadkls You don't understand, do you? No smart martial artist would get in a real fight with someone who knows Jeet Kune Do. Know why? because Jeet Kune Do is about ending a fight in a matter of seconds. In the second needed for the opponent to throw his punch, the one who knows Jeet Kune Do can fatally wound him 5+ times. And when I say "fatally wound", I mean to end his life. Its impossible to intercept the speed of a Jeet Kune Do strike, and even if by chance it somehow misses, not a fraction of a second is needed to send 5 more to the opponent.

    • @pokeymonky1736
      @pokeymonky1736 7 років тому +1

      Owl Beats You watch too many kung fu movies. Theres no such thing as a Jeet Kune Do punch. And it defenetly doesnt kill anyone in one punch. Maybe talk with yourself first before posting stupidity. Jeet Kune Do is NOT some special deadly secret art that you train and suddenly become some Goku. Its a concept...way of thinking. A way to improve the capabilities that you already have and improve them only you as an individual in mind. If you have zero training and you start with JKD in some McDojo you are most likely to be KO-d. Take boxing...train alot. Take some kicking art then add some grappling and THEN after years of training implement the JKD concept. Without it...just join some MMA gym. No illusions and no gimmics. Bruce Lee would have a nice laugh looking at all of those UA-cam JKD "sifus"

      Rédouan Kingfx no! Jkd has muay thai concepts in it. Also wing chun concepts etc. . Muay thai in a real fight gym is brutal. You will see bloodstains on the canvas and on the gloves in a real Muay thai gym. There hasn't been not one person to bring jkd up to that level of brutality yet in jkd. I speak the truth. One of my jkd coaches trained pro MMA fighter Mark Surin in CT. But it has mostly bjj in their arsenal. Not any one can train in a real muay thai fight gym! Any one can be a student in a jkd school. There are pros and cons to that.

    • @RealLeskot
      @RealLeskot 8 років тому +2

      Maybe, but since jeet kune do don´t have any strict rules you can mix it with other martial arts.

    • @itecnus3490
      @itecnus3490 8 років тому +1

      Remove some of the slapping he does and it's *really* close to wing chun. If I didn't see the title, I would've said this is wing chun. The giveaway would probably be the kicks, there's like 2 kicks in wing chun and some of the stuff he does isn't one of them.
