Jeet Kune Do helped heal and re-balance my body and life after a massive injury. I am forever indebted to Sensei Lee & Guro Inosanto. Dan Inosanto is one of the biggest fraudsters in martial arts. His "as many arts as possible" (his words). Was designed to keep students coming in paying him money. Scammer.
@@dagaffer2269 you clearly haven't read The Tao of Jeet Kune Do, or perhaps you simply did not understand it. Bruce Lee authored it, while he himself had a horrible back injury & used it's principles to heal & get back on its feet.
I've attended two of Guro Dans seminars in the past few years. he's around 80 years old and moves as smoothly and flawlessly as he does in this video. it was quite an honor to wbe in the presence of such skill and authority
Very true! Guro Dan's knowledge of the arts is on another level. Definitely amazing how well he can still perform all of the techniques at his age. True inspiration for any martial artist!
It is so great to hear if from someone that actually knows what he is talking about. You don't have to question what he is sayin. In addition, he is certified in over 100 other styles. When he says something he knows by experience.
i started to learn jeet kune do in the two jeet kune do books by bruce lee when i was 12 yrs old. and until i met my jeet kune do instructor: philip thomas. a canadian who lives in los angeles california. he told me that there is a JKD school in st-hubert in the southshore of montreal. and i will go and take JKD lessons in a class with all the material to train. wish me all good luck.
I studied it under Sifu Jack Soderberg for two years. I was handed a white sash. After two years, seven days a week, I was told I had just begun my journey! It’s so important in martial arts to be humble. You can’t learn if you’re not humble this is true in life as well.
That Sefu is a very very good speaker and has very easy to understand presentations and examples. The white and Asian guys assisting this Sefu are obviosly highly skilled as well. I really like that when Sefu was done using the Asain guy as an example, the Asian guy presented his respect to Sefu then backed out of camera frame as sefu was talking. This video is very well put together. ❤❤❤ I loved every second of it. Thank you for sharing this.
that was excellent, and many many thanks for guro Dan to explain, where it started....thank you sir so much.with out these legends sharing knowledge to all of us ... it would be a dull day
Jeet Kune Do means intercepting the fist/kicks. It's a free flowing water/air form, meaning it's formless. One must master all the traditional styles before you can even attempt to express yourself in Jeet Kune Do. Not many martial artists can do this. One, because not many has mastered the traditional forms. Two, because not many has freed their minds. Also, Bruce was extraordinary in his physical abilities so his Jeet Kune Do was extraordinary. Not many could do what he could do because they don't have the speed or power that he had. Other masters will have their own form of Jeet Kune Do like Dan and few others, which is nothing to take away from. They are great too but they will use martial arts forms that are most suited for them. Bruce used forms that was suited for him, which not many can do. My form of Jeet Kune Do would be mostly trapping with short punches and low kicks because I can't kick that high. But my upper body locks and throws would be my strengths, followed by pressure point hits and hits to critical areas like throat, abdomin etc...Does my form have limitations? Sure, it does. Because my range would be limited vs. Bruce who could stand 15 feet away and come at you like lightening. That's what made Bruce special. His physical abilities were like no other then and now.
I agree on a fighter developing a style to their own abilities. Some people have long range, some people are shorter with better stability and center of gravity. Some small some large, etc. Not every fighter would use the same style, and every fighter would have a weakness. One should draw from all the styles that work best for them. Ironically bruce lee wanted jeet kune do to always be evolving and changing and adding new things, taking old things out, and he wanted all his students to figure out their own perfect way of fighting. But it got turned into a "style" like any other, which is the ironic part. I'm trained in a derivative of jeet kune do, but i like to study other martial arts all the time, see things that i think i could add that would suit me etc.
You're acting like Bruce Lee was born with his physical abilities. It clearly says in the book ''Tao of JKD'' that being physically healthy and fit is a major fact about JKD as a whole, doesn't matter what form you yourself is going after or training.... You have to put in some sort of physical exercise in your regimen. It's completely ridiculous for you to say ''I only do low kicks because I can't kick that high''. Guess what? I wasn't able to kick high either, now I can. Do some stretching, do some research on side splits, etc etc. Even though I can techincally kick high, I would usually only do so to ''seize the oppertunity'' if you may, I would still do low kicks obviously.
ask master Dan if he can still kick high. when you get older in age, you'll understand what I mean. when you're young and inexperienced in life, you are naive in all things so it's best to refrain and reflect before jumping to conclusions. yes when I was a young lad, I kicked high.
Ive met Dan and have trained with him…he struck me as being a nice guy that knows how to pass on information. JKD is not a style…Bruces own words…Dan has always said that he teaches JKD concepts and its about each person finding their own truth…when you were training under Bruce Lee Lazaro and LMA UK, how did you find the training?…Dan expresses his JKD through Silat, Kali and a number of other arts…he is a good guy that inspires people to be better than they currently are…apart from talking shit on youtube, what have you accomplished in the martial arts?
And that's EXACTLY all JKD is. You're the first guy out of at least 50 videos that has accurately defined JKD. I can tell your info was from Dan too. Very well said...But just to add one thing...Its mostly a series of concepts (like you said) theories and DRILLS, which were put together by Dan and Lee in order to enhance specific attributes...When all completed, it will or can, enhance whatever system, or systems a person trains in...
boofhead Thats why Dan never says he teaches Bruce Lees JKD. Its Inosanto JKD and he shows the meaning and the concept, not "how to imitate Bruce Lee". And in fact Bruce Lee never showed JKD in any of his movies.
I'm amazed at how much this reminds me of my days as a kid in mantis style. I did over a year of that, kung fu is kung fu and I love all styles with their subtle differences.
Guro Dan Inosanto Is My JKD Teacher! He Helped Me Understand Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do. It's A Wonderful Art Of Kung Fu/Gung Fu. I Love Martial Arts. for me fencing was more important to bruce lee fight style then wing chun, the way move back and forward really fast and dont wait for trying to block, he just avoid and counterattack

Sifu inosanto is a very wise and educated master, his technique is flawless and he is definitely a martial artist and person to admire, much respect and honour for you Sifu Daniel inosanto 😎👍
There's no such thing as Bruce's jkd or Inosanto jkd. Jkd is jkd, no matter who teaches it(as long as the principles stay true to the art). Dan Inosanto teaches the way Bruce has patented it. It is base off of Bruce ideas, principles and philosophies. Dan teaches it the way Bruce wanted to be taught. That's why he calls it jkd concept because it is a concept(eclecticism). It's a blend and a process base on Bruce's thoughts. If the art can't fit you tailored to your own needs and wants, likes and dislikes. Bruce never suspected people to move the way he does, including Dan himself, or his students. Each individual should make the art fit them(kinetic fit), and not the other way around. If anybody reads Bruce's philosophies, self-knowledge is the main points of jkd!
***** OK keyboard warrior! A weak simpleton like you calling me names behind the keyboard. It's my opinion, I don't expect people to accept it. either you do or not. Even a weak keyboard troll like yourself. If you read Bruce philosophies carefully! Self knowledge is the one of the main facet he put down in his philosophies in Jkd. And by the way, Jkd is a concept, half the stuff that you said is part of it. But, he also mentioned no way, as way and no limitation as limitation. Absorb what is useful, reject what is useless, add what is essentially your own. But at the end, it's only a name to be disregarded. His main purpose was to encourage thinkers! Main point! Jkd is only a mindset, a mental mechanism to help find your own self-expression. A way of thinking and expressing! Arcourse somebody like you is to full of himself to process what I'm saying.
JKD is Bruce Lee's philosophy, and Jun Fan Gung Fu is his expression through JKD. Jun Fan Gung Fu is Bruce Lee's unique martial arts that is really rare these days. Most people just take the JKD philosophy and mix a bunch of other arts together and calling it JKD because of the philosophical principles. however JKD isn't only a philosophy, it's also an art, and that art is called Original JKD or Jun Fan Gung Fu.
+Kung Fu Man Dan himself followed up on Bruce's and teachings and called it "Jkd Concepts" so it can embody both.So it can embody Bruce's ideas. Your right this one point, mixing different arts unassociated to the core principles of Bruce's personal expression&thoughts is not Jkd. And many people always makes that mistake. in vice versa, seeing jkd as a product and not process; when bears no meaning of his concepts at all. But in my opinion, Bruce inspired other martial artists to be flexible with their thoughts
I dont really trust Inosanto, he's a great guy but he werent there during the important times of JKD development. Inosanto only focuses on the JKD concepts and a small fraction of jun fan gung fu oakland and seattle are the other keys to the puzzle that need to be studied or looked into to complete it
+Brett Jackson JKD, has always implementing traditional styles and many new styles created, it's a learning curve, JKD is a way to defend, it is not meant as an aggressive form of defense, but is there if needed, as you state patented JKD is Bruce's, idea to go forth and prosper, any JKD is a learning curve, however, any JKD, is JKD, produce a better learning curve..!!?
Right. Not secured on both ends by being braced but rather the board is actually dangling on one end, On top of that it's factually 5 inches thick, an impossible density, especially because it's not one solid uniform piece but five different pieces which is much harder (it's five 1 inch boards). Superhuman.
2) I have yet to find someone who is smoother and a better teacher or someone who UNDERSTANDs the JKD Like Dan Inosanto.. When he teaches, The Jun Fan KickBoxing portion is still there as well as the Wing Chun portion who many say Sijo Bruce moved away from towards the end by the way... Just because Sifu Dan has chose to expand a go beyond Bruce Lee does not make him wrong or his JKD any less REAL! (continued)
I won’t say my JKD INSTRUCTOR is any better, but I personally not seen anyone better than Richard Wood in Milwaukie, Oregon and I can tell you Richard was one tough Instructor to be a student of his. He didn’t accept just anyone into his school either. You had to stand in a Horse stance for 2 hours. If you stood up at any time you didn’t get in the school. I actually failed my first attempt to get in, partly due to a nasty car wreck I had gotten into a few months earlier that left me pretty weak. I went back after I got my strength back and tried again and got in the second time. I thought that be the hardest thing I have to do once I got in! Boy was I wrong! First think I learned is not to eat before any classes. Unless you enjoy getting sick? 😂 Richard didn’t teach you much the first year and worked more on making his students stronger and more flexible. So when he did start teaching the students kicks and punches they be strong and flexible enough to do the moves correctly! We still did traditional forms along with Richard’s other torture he make all students do! At the end of a 2 hour class it was all you could do just to walk out to your vehicle to go home and if you had a manual with a clutch that was another test in itself just to drive! 😂 a Richard followed Bruce Lees teaching very well and I have yet to see anyone do better. I know Richard came straight from China, but anything else I never asked him about? We didn’t use any safety gear except for a cup! Which after a few groin slaps and snap kicks to the groin you we’re glad you had a cup on! We also did a pole drill where one student swing a 10 ft long pole that had a little padding on the end but not much! It still hurt if you didn’t shift and duck or jump up in time before getting hit. Once in a while someone would get a black eye or other bruises. Incentive to get better! 😂 many students would quit in the first week if not the first day In some cases. Richard wasn’t any easier on women either! So women would stick around long either unfortunately! Richard also didn’t believe in belts. No matter how long or good you got, you never got a belt from Richard. He flat didn’t believe in giving out belts, for more than one reason too! Richard stated numerous times his goal was to make as many students as he could the very best they could be! Money wasn’t his goal, if you stuck it out for 4 years he teach you for free after that. You were expected to come to every class no matter what! Richard flat tell you to come to every class Or don’t come at all! Never seen a instructor more strict! Richard certainly didn’t like having to tell a student the same thing over and over! He might tell you twice, after that Richard usually showed you the painful way what you were not doing right! Remember a student once saying well practice makes perfect! But Richard corrected him saying NO! Perfect practice makes perfect! And Richard certainly pushed all the students to do everything perfectly every time! I can tell you I seen Richard fight many times and I never seen anyone faster or react quicker! Personally I would of loved to see Bruce Lee and Richard spar in a friendly match, I would of paid to see that! Richard now in his 80’s too I believe? He was in his 30’s when I started there and I was in my 20’s. I’m almost 67 now, so he’s probably hitting least 70 by now if not older. But I bet he’s still just as good as he was in his younger years if not even better! Unfortunately I haven’t seen Richard in years since I was told not to come back to classes since I missed a few classes having to work in my own business that unfortunately had to come first whether Richard liked it or not! But I wish I could of stuck with going to the classes. I have never been in better shape that’s for sure! Even though it was torture, I still miss the class!
I took jkd for 10yrs but I would like to see a video on chi Sao if anyone has one plz, I am currently teaching a few young men on the finer points of jkd, humbly, a video would help express the need for the sensitivity of chi Sao. Thank you
Real effective JKD can be learned in a short time. But JKD concepts a bull shito art. Takes years to learn because Dan devised it so students can keep coming in and paying him money.
As Bruce Lee exclaimed many times. It's the fight in the fighter not the fighter in a fight. Today's arsenal of martial arts theory is based upon how well you can actually survive in actual street combat. The best lesson I've learned is STAY AWAKE AND NEVER GO TO SLEEP
In the video they said that he didn't want to teach him in public but others have said that Ip Man withheld much from Bruce because he was not pure Chinese.
4:34 he says "the bridging is the thing that makes the difference in JKD" to show the difference between JKD and classical ving tsun. But then he goes on to show what he means, and he does the same thing he did before??? The only difference was adding a leg kick and feints before the bridging. But how is this different than classical? I don't think classical ving tsun assumes fights start with arms in contact in a chi sao position.
@ Hinrich Roll - Naumann ... Dan Inosanto was not Bruce Lee's first student, Jesse Glover was. Inosanto stated that he was never comfortable with the kicks Lee taught. He wanted to explore his filipino martial arts roots ... Bruce encouraged him, since he was his friend I assume. I say that, because Bruce told Jerry Poteet, that not Kenpo or any other art could be mixed with Jeet Kune Do ... he felt it was something special, different & it is. It's obvious like many, you haven't done research and don't have a clue what Jeet Kune Do is or how to recognize it. I've trained in Inosanto's method JKD Conepts, it's basically a mix of different arts he's comfortable with, and some old stuff Bruce threw away. Real Jeet Kune Do is more efficient, straight to the point, seeks to simplify & doesn't need to add 27 arts & endless techniques. A real JKD man uses Bruce's principals of movement, tactics and continues to simplify everywhere he can ... movement, energy conservation etc. Techniques are based on circumstances, and made for the moment, in the moment, not ridgid 1,2,3 forms you can teach every week ...
But Dan also has to run a school. and if he teaches his students just 3 techniques they will get bored and leave. which is why dan teaches many other arts to compliment jkd and to keep it interesting. Its to teach both the martial and the art. and yes it IS jkd concepts and not juan fun gong fu. JKD was meant to continuously evolve, not remain stagnant.
Completely wrongggggg. It was Bruce his own expression of freedom and of his own being, which could changed from day to day, moment to moment. It is not about mixing certain martial arts but about expressing yourself in a specific moment. Sometimes he used movements which were of no martial art at all, because Its not about that. I know people that only have trained in one martial art, but they have attained the freedom to express themselves beyond that martial art or any martial in particular. That was what Bruce did.
samuel bakker Bruce took techniques, training methods and strategies from 26 different martial arts. It’s not about mixing styles but it is about mixing styles. You’re basically taking which techniques work for you from each style.
Tunes you miss the point. Its not about mixing 26 styles or whatever. As a martial artist you automatically use what is usefull and it Doesnt matter Where it comes from. Knowledge can also come from a person who does not know any martial art system at all. Sometimes you will learn the most useful things that might come from a sourch that has nothing to do with any martial art system at all. It is not about mixing 26 martial art systems, its about using whatever is needed.
If I train follow the JKD instruction book by bruce Lee, I thnk I become a real JKD fighter... Must JKD be on Wing-chun system? Be formless, shapeless like water... Water can flow~, water can crash! Be water my friends...
11:00 I would like to see a low kick to the rear leg as the last strike in the combo. Instead of kicking to the spleen or ribs, I would use a low kick to put him down like Ernesto Hoost, and Mr. Low Kick Rob Kaman… a very unutilized kick in JKD. Low kick first then bring it up to the head. Ko And end 11:39 that combo with a lead hook and a high kick. I think lead hook always set-up the rear high kick
This is not what Bruce Lee was doing the last few years, before he passed away. Bruce was not fixated on the centerline, as in Wing Chun. Dan Inosanto chose not to follow the exact mechanical principals that Bruce developed. This is evident in his fighting posture, that does not resemble Bruce's. Most people are not going to put in the work it takes to get Bruce Lee like abilities. Dan Inosanto has stated, that he was never comfortable with the kicks Bruce showed him, so he went with Muay Thai round kicks. Dan's JKD Concepts is modified Wing Chun, Savate, Silat, Shootfighting,Boxing,Jui-jitsu,Kali,Muay Thai etc. If you learn all these arts, you will certainly be unpredictable, & able to move in many different ways ... that does not mean, you will move efficient, & you will not being doing Jeet Kune Do.
thats not the point of jeet kune do. Bruce had hes own style and he encourage i repeat encourage people to find their own comfortable fighting style as they learn moves. what Dan is doing is basically what Jeet kune do is. its not an ancient art its an art developed with different martial arts that bruce trained. and Dan is trying to passs on the knowledge that basically be open minded and learn and apply it to what feels best to you. Dan has many martial arts backgrounds which is good cause he can input some of hes knowledge into hes students and continue what bruce was trying to do
So John , if you say that guro Dan is not teaching the way Bruce would ‘ ve taught JKD . So maybe guro Dan is teaching his own version of what he learned from Bruce . But you can do your JKD , the way Bruce would ‘ ve done it .
are you serious ,this is why I had never accepted Dan inosanto he actually said "these are the forms you need to jkd" Ted Wong is the only student of Bruce Lee that's has remained true(the formless form)
Agreed. One of the reasons for this is because bruce never finished his wing chun training (he only made it about half way thru the system). This is partially why he had to look to other arts to fill in some of the holes. Not saying wing chun would or wouldn't have been able to do that for him, but since he never finished, he had to look elsewhere.. This is a fact a lot of bruce's 'followers' don't like to admit. Nothing wrong with what he did either, it's just what it is..
Who do you think will be the next, bruce, chuck, jim, ron, steve, jean, taimark, joe, billy, micheal, don, mark, etc, martial artist sensation, for the millennium?😊😙😊😂🤣😄😄😋😚😚☺️🙂🤗😎😎😃😄😘😍😎
The unsung hero. Not many knows about the story of Dato Meor Abdul Rahman the Pesaka Gayung Guru Master defeated Bruce Lee, because of Lee's arrogant. Dont get me wrong, i respect Bruce Lee but his cocky behaviour that time to challenge everyone in this world leads to his death somehow.
Indeed. you need to evolve. Constantly evolving according you personal body and mind. Learning from you mistakes and shortcomings. Making your disadvantages an advantage....
As my JKD instructor use to tell us, the best way from not getting hit is not to be there when the punch or kick gets there! Reminds me of a funny story where this guy came in and challenged our JKD school. Naturally my instructor took his challenge on. The guy that challenged our school got frustrated cause whatever he tried to do to hit my instructor my instructor was already out of the way before the guy’s punches or kick’s could get near me instructor. Out of frustration this guy says what is this a school of cowards? Wrong thing to say, my instructor went after the guy with a vengeance at that point and it was the guy that challenged running away then! 😂 The guy that challenges the school said he thinks it’s time he leaves! Think he realizes he was outmatched completely and knew if my instructor really wanted to hurt the guy there was nothing he could do to stop it!
That was a great clip. Really enjoyed it. Just odd to think that all the people, who were in Kung Fu/Black Belt magazine, when I was a kid, are like 80+ years old. I like hearing Inosanto talk about teachers. Some things, that you learn from 'masters' in spirituality, martial arts, you can't find any place else. These people have tremendous impact on higher level 'continuity' in terms of expression and maintaining a higher principle. if you have not taken a risk and gone to X location to seek help and teaching, you wouldn't know what I'm talking about. Course. If you go down the street and you have a studio, with a great master, you're luckier than most.
rickames You click on the settings icon on your video screen (bottom right corner) press "speed", and change it to a lower speed such as 0.5. Hope this helps
If you would like to see Jeet Kune Do in a fighting game with the other martial arts, consider donating to my Kickstarter page called "The Ultimate Martial Arts Game"! :D
A good JKD instructor can take to you to a higher level of learning, faster than traditional Wing Chun. 6 Months of Hard JKD Training will equal 2 years of Wing Chun, in my opinion. 2 Years in JKD will make you a better all around fighter than most, but you must include: Punching range ( Modified Wing Chun, Boxing) Kicking Range ( Modified Wing chun kicks, Kickboxing, Muay Thai) Trapping ( WC and Panatukan/FilipinoMartial Arts) and Grappling (Jiujitsu, Dumog, Chin-na, Tuite, Silat).
JKD includes the concepts of many styles, within its system. If you are someone who really admires the "trapping" range and the concepts of in-fighting, then Wing Chun can be a traditional style that one might enjoy.
Dan Inosanto is one of the REAL Pioneers of JKD, like Ted Wong, Bob ( Robert ) Baker whom I met and paid visits to his house, Jimmy ( James ) Lee, David Cox, James Damille, and a FEW others. Richard Bustillo is good, Ted Wong and D. Inosanto are the long time students of Bruce Lee like James " Jimmy" Lee. NOT many really know the true art of JKD. You can find Robert Bob" Baker on UA-cam fighting Bruce Lee in the " Chinese Connection Movie. " he stared as the Russian . He is , was for real! His strikes and punches are well delivered as I saw with my own eyes at his house.
If JKD was mostly fencing, boxing, and I guess Wing Chun, then how the hell is what Inosanto teaches considered actual JKD? If you're going to say it's a philosophy and not a style, then I guess any martial art is really JKD then.
Dan doesn't teach jkd. Jkd is a style like boxing is a style, not like kung fu is a style - meaning you don't have to go from one motion to the next motion in a predetermined sequence. Jkd teaches you how to punch, kick, and move but these can all be linked together in any way that works in the moment of a fight. This is what is meant by "jkd has no style"
***** It shows a lot of things for to use, but there is not that "imitations of moves" what brings you the next belt. Use whats useful, not use this or that technique. BL knowed that you cant do that in a fight, and of course in JKD a 5 ft woman must do another JKD than a Lou Ferrigno. For example: In TKD than 4,5 ft woman must kick to the head of the opponent, no matter if he is 6,5 ft tall. In JKD she must do what works, and that is attack the groins...
You guys all sound confused. Jun Fan Gung Fu was Bruce Lee's style AKA Original JKD. And JKD Concepts is now regarded as JKD philosophy. JKD Philosophy - take what works, reject the rest, etc etc Jun Fan Gung Fu - Wing Chun, Fencing, Savate, Boxing, Muay Thai, etc
Master inosanto much respect 🫡 to you for your teachings and love for all of your students. But we all know that wing Chun in self defence I have seen wing Chun masters from China get destroyed by street fighters. It can be a base like Bruce said but having all styles be your styles.
JKD relies on a mixture of styles and expression of oneself to make the "blend" of the techniques work. As Bruce Lee said: "Using no way as way, having no limitations as limitation".
Exactly, Wing Tchun, has a certain range where it Does work! Wing Tchun has remained still the core. As the demo shows , the mirror stance snd defence comes into play occasionally defense and offence at the same time!! . Sorry of being tired, but CLose range and taking sides as well using level becomes the trademark of not only Wing Tchun, but Bruce Lee´s Jeet Kune Do- the Art of ist hitting first??? Paul, 68-admiror of Bruce Lee. and Dan Inosanto and theiir legaca the JKD.

I love Wing Chun and Bruce Lee is my All-Time Idol.
This is good Sifu Dan footage. He’s just so precise and fast with the split entry and biu jee.
Remarkable video and it’s proof all martial arts styles somewhat compliment one another. Great respect for your contribution to the art.
This Man Is A Master Teacher Of JKD Concepts Much Respect Sifu Dan.."
Dan Inosanto is very fast with his hands, you can only imagine how fast Lee was...
Incredible when you just stop and think about it...
He was slower;) Dan is quite someone who has stayed in the shadow but he always be there with full abilities.
It's it quite fast but no one is faster than normal kunfu
Amen!
JKD concepts is a scam. Dan Inosanto created it to elongate the process. To keep gullible students coming in and paying him money.
I studied it under Sifu Jack Soderberg for two years. I was handed a white sash. After two years, seven days a week, I was told I had just begun my journey! It’s so important in martial arts to be humble. You can’t learn if you’re not humble this is true in life as well.
When Dan says "I'll do it slowly" and then demonstrates it at just below the speed of light!
One must learn to be a good person before becoming a fighter.Learned techniques should be used to protect oneself or innocent people.✨
turkish are not innocent
Thanks for that ..
I hope you mean what you wrote down.

What a wise man! The way he talks about everything. Would love to have a talk with this man!
You keeped the essence off his jeet kune Dan Insanto beautiful to see
Jeet Kune Do means intercepting the fist/kicks.
Even though I can techincally kick high, I would usually only do so to ''seize the oppertunity'' if you may, I would still do low kicks obviously.
lol you cant even kick high its basic martial arts stuff
ask master Dan if he can still kick high. when you get older in age, you'll understand what I mean. when you're young and inexperienced in life, you are naive in all things so it's best to refrain and reflect before jumping to conclusions. yes when I was a young lad, I kicked high.
KMooner Rad I 25 and I can still kick high
We need to learn as much as we can from Dan. 👍
Thanks for sharing! Have an awesome day!
I have enjoyed this Inosanto video more than than any other of his I've ever seen.
thanks for the post
Eddie Steele Thanks mate
boofhead Welcome...
boofhead Thats why Dan never says he teaches Bruce Lees JKD. Its Inosanto JKD and he shows the meaning and the concept, not "how to imitate Bruce Lee". And in fact Bruce Lee never showed JKD in any of his movies.
drh kleinertt the essence of JKD is based on your response to the energy presented by your opponent

I'm amazed at how much this reminds me of my days as a kid in mantis style. I did over a year of that, kung fu is kung fu and I love all styles with their subtle differences.
Bruce Lee really liked Praying Mantis kung fu.

Inosanto only focuses on the JKD concepts and a small fraction of jun fan gung fu
oakland and seattle are the other keys to the puzzle that need to be studied or looked into to complete it
+Brett Jackson JKD, has always implementing traditional styles and many new styles created, it's a learning curve, JKD is a way to defend, it is not meant as an aggressive form of defense, but is there if needed, as you state patented JKD is Bruce's, idea to go forth and prosper, any JKD is a learning curve, however, any JKD, is JKD, produce a better learning curve..!!?
13:07 that kick could kill people , if u really realize that the man in the back was holding 4 boards with one hand.
Right. Not secured on both ends by being braced but rather the board is actually dangling on one end, On top of that it's factually 5 inches thick, an impossible density, especially because it's not one solid uniform piece but five different pieces which is much harder (it's five 1 inch boards). Superhuman.
Super very very great Amazing ultimate ⭐🔥🐉🐉
Thank you 😊😊❤
Insane great video, really tell something.

Real effective JKD can be learned in a short time. But JKD concepts a bull shito art. Takes years to learn because Dan devised it so students can keep coming in and paying him money.
with how much respect he speaks about his friend bruce lee and ip man...

Brandon Love Best you can do. He is totally amazing as Man and teacher, you will never forget that day.
Good Vid, I'm glad you explained it's principle over technique.
1:54 Yip Man sometimes didn't want to teach Bruce Lee because he wasn't pure Chinese :\
And?
@@pancho43 and? That's racist, theres your and.
@John Kim .. That's not what he said.
In the video they said that he didn't want to teach him in public but others have said that Ip Man withheld much from Bruce because he was not pure Chinese.
What are your thoughts on Lap sou?
JKD was meant to continuously evolve, not remain stagnant.

sehr beeindruckend die Päzision and Schnelligkeit dieses Kampfsports
JKD was essentially MMA. If Bruce Lee were still alive, JKD would've been the street version of MMA.
Indeed, Bruce Lee was the first man to experiment with mixing Martial Arts systems together.
It is not about mixing 26 martial art systems, its about using whatever is needed.

thanks for the upload man.
Ko
And end 11:39 that combo with a lead hook and a high kick. I think lead hook always set-up the rear high kick
Can you do this any slower Dan? Amazing!!!
Look options of video..
JKD is good , with it ‘ s own theories & concepts , in general . It ‘ s all about Bruce ‘ s own way of fighting .
I don't think Bruce was prepared to reveal all his secrets 😂
JKD cornerstone is an improvement, yall need to learn the philosophy deeper to embrace the true concept of it
Dan im interested in taking some lessons can you let me know if you offer classes or privates instructions ❤😊thanks

notice how the jkd dummy, is a strike with every move, and wing chun there are alot of passive moves.
No
Thank you for the demonstration it is a was very appreciated
are you serious ,this is why I had never accepted Dan inosanto he actually said "these are the forms you need to jkd" Ted Wong is the only student of Bruce Lee that's has remained true(the formless form)
No you have no idea what you are talking about. The first principle of jeet kune do of which there are four. Is Do Your own research
Show me a video where a wing chun practitioner is able to defeat a fighter from any other style in realistic combat. I’ll wait.

Indeed. you need to evolve.
Can anyone reveal how to put the computer in slow motion so I can better monitor the techniques? Thank you.
rickames You click on the settings icon on your video screen (bottom right corner) press "speed", and change it to a lower speed such as 0.5. Hope this helps

Should you learn wing chun before practicing jkd or jump into jkd?
Just learn everything...
+Tritan thanks 😑
A good JKD instructor can take to you to a higher level of learning, faster than traditional Wing Chun. 6 Months of Hard JKD Training will equal 2 years of Wing Chun, in my opinion. 2 Years in JKD will make you a better all around fighter than most, but you must include: Punching range ( Modified Wing Chun, Boxing) Kicking Range ( Modified Wing chun kicks, Kickboxing, Muay Thai) Trapping ( WC and Panatukan/FilipinoMartial Arts) and Grappling (Jiujitsu, Dumog, Chin-na, Tuite, Silat).
chris lyons the teacher must no fundamentals of wing chun and many other martial forms... Jkd is science not a form
JKD includes the concepts of many styles, within its system. If you are someone who really admires the "trapping" range and the concepts of in-fighting, then Wing Chun can be a traditional style that one might enjoy.
Thanks for taking to to record this, very informatif

Agreed! Guro Dan Inosanto is a true pioneer of the JKD system!
😂нет никакого искусства это все кино и понты
Is dan still alive? He seems awesome.
JKD Philosophy - take what works, reject the rest, etc etc
Jun Fan Gung Fu - Wing Chun, Fencing, Savate, Boxing, Muay Thai, etc
我好想要學7:50那裡的作法啊..
How I can to communication with master Danosantoss ..verry important
Master inosanto much respect 🫡 to you for your teachings and love for all of your students. But we all know that wing Chun in self defence I have seen wing Chun masters from China get destroyed by street fighters. It can be a base like Bruce said but having all styles be your styles.
what about dynamic tension ?
Is wing chun really effective or do i have to learn other type of martial arts like tae kwon do to mix it?
JKD relies on a mixture of styles and expression of oneself to make the "blend" of the techniques work. As Bruce Lee said: "Using no way as way, having no limitations as limitation".
Great system
JKD has the essence of Wing Chun and then adds the other things that you need.
My sifu was larry hartsell and don lee both were students of bruce and dan
beautiful, that's all i can say
I dont have the del prado in east grand prix
Exactly, Wing Tchun, has a certain range where it Does work!
Wing Tchun has remained still the core.
As the demo shows , the mirror stance snd defence comes into play occasionally defense and offence at the same time!!
.
Sorry of being tired, but CLose range and taking sides as well using level becomes the trademark of not only Wing Tchun, but Bruce Lee´s Jeet Kune Do- the Art of ist hitting first???
Paul, 68-admiror of Bruce Lee. and Dan Inosanto and theiir legaca the JKD.
I love wing Chun and Jeet June Do
