Graha’s villain arch lasted about 45 seconds
He must have been practicing his evil monologue for months. Bless his heart.
Unfortunately, he's a terrible liar.
I love how Alisaie basically goes, "I don't understand this, so I'm going to hit things until it starts making sense, or stops talking."
He's a good boi. It wasn't possible to last longer :3
This didn’t make any sense to me. What’s the point pretending to be evil just say you are sacrificing yourself at that moment rather than creating some random drama. Actually made me feel the opposite about him and didn’t like him as he lied to us for no reason.
@@raynekayde6405 I took it as an "it's easier to unite against something to hate" approach.
This is one of the hardest hitting story beats. The idea of having us fail, of having everything we accomplished thus far fall apart. It makes all that joy we felt, and joy we brought to the people of Norvrandt suddenly turn to ash.
It gives us that sense of triumph and then rips it all away.
It's brilliant. What better way to have you identify with the characters of your WoL and Ardbert, then by putting you the player through the same experience as the characters. Failure, loss, guilt, frustration... and then having to find the resolve to continue regardless.
you and i had similar reactions to the Exarch's reveal. I got so pissed until Y'shtola said that he would not live to see another world. I began to cry when the Exarch began to speak. Hood flies back and I just scream "WHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTT!?!?!?!" I later asked my now husband "Was that G'Raha?"
his response: "Yes and he's been waiting for you here this whole time."
It is the Crystal Tower and no matter the world, there's only one person who can control it directly :) Indeed, ol' G'raha. Well, old here but anyway.
Honestly I dont get how this was a twist I figured it out in the first fifteen seconds of seeing him? Like maybe if you hadn't played ARR content in a couple years, but I'd played from ARR up to Shadowbringers and was like "oh hey its catboy"
Even knowing it's just part of the story and I have no control over it, the moment when my character opened the window and saw the Light back in the sky, I felt like I had personally failed.
Same. And then when you're talking to Ardbert on the tower about wanting to tell everyone, I felt _horrible_ knowing I was lying to all these good people who cared about me and who put their trust in me. The writing in ShB is truly phenomenal.
What pushed me to finally buy and play this game, was actually that cutscene with the reveal of the Exarch
There's a Guild Wars 2 streamer I watch (Laranity) who also sometimes play FFXIV and was going through the story. I'd mostly been uninterested because no matter how amazing everyone called it, I never wanted to touch a game with a sub fee. But one day I decided "why not? I'll watch some of the stream today. Since spoilers rarely ruin experiences for me and I don't plan on playing anyway."
It was that exact moment: 'call him by his name'.
And I went: "Damn. OK. Fuck it, I'm buying this game." And the rest is history lmao. I still haven't reached this part myself, I'm VERY slow, so I skipped through just to see your reaction to that part. I've started to care about spoiling myself a bit, at least for MSQ.
SOMETIMES spoilers are a good thing 🤭 I would've never played this masterpiece otherwise.
Welcome to the community
Laranity she's a great reaction streamer.
@@Crusina She is! Love her to bits. I've been following her since the first 'Music guild tries to raid' videos ^^
@@ashlebeau9802 Ty ♡♡♡ it's been lovely
All powerful being who can summon literally anything he wants: *gun*
To be fair, if he had done anything else, with all the Light and sparkling aether in the scene, it would have made it more confusing.
Emet-Selch pulling a gun makes it very clear _exactly_ what happened to the Exarch. You don't have to worry, or be confused about what spell he hit him with. He cast bullet.
Also, I played Emet-Selch in an in-game stage production, recently. Made sure my costume for him used the Aiming set.
To be fair, although not a fully Rejoined soul, my WoL also casts *GUN* as a Machinist main, so I get the feeling.
To be fair he literally created Garlemald he probably invented the thing in the first place
I actually think there’s a legit reason why he doesn’t use his magic and instead uses a gun. I might be wrong but I think it’s because of the abundance of light his powers are either weakened or unusable
The moment i saw the light and the music afterwards in the Crystarium was one the most depressing moments in the game for me. Of cause i love Gwaha :3
I cried like a baby the second that moment happened. I was like “we did all that for nothing? It’s back because of me? No!”
And this is why completing the Crystal Tower Alliance Raid in ARR is mandatory
I'm still a little upset that it wasn't at the start of shb. I didn't do it until 5.2
Moral of the story, ONCE AGAIN, is that Urianger is the GOAT
If I could, I would forget everything I experienced playing this game, just to go through it all over again
I love watching your journey, just subscribed.
I can not WAIT until you hit Endwalker....
Ok, but the healer pulling you into Innocence's final AOE was EVIL, and it gave me a really good laugh!
"I shall achieve through despair."
Wow, that really means something now... without any spoilers.
Oh, she is not ready for Ultima Thul.
No one ever is.
Shadowbringers was the expansion that cemented my love for the game, I was enjoying the game, but this expansion really did it for me, enjoy the ride and buckle up cuz it gets more and more awesome.
When Shadowbringers first launched, the Crystal Tower raids were optional and many people had got here and the reveal didn't mean anything to them. I had stopped playing after Heavensward and had never done any raids, but thankfully someone told me ahead of time that it would be in my best interest to do so and I did the raids before I got here.
bro i cried so freaking hard when i saw graha tia in this scene
Hey do you have VODs of your playthrough anywhere or just on twitch?
i only started uploading them from midway through stormblood unfortunately, but you can find them here!

Hope you’re enjoying the game so far!
Shots fired!! I couldn’t stop playing after that cutscene, our precious lil cinnamon boi 😿
love how everyones response is allways "why is he hot?!"
Tale as old as time lol
Not me tbh. I was like “why?”
So real, i cried my ass out during Shadowbringers, such a well written story.
emet-selch is such a tragic villain. that’s why people love him. because he lost everything he had, and everything he does is in desperation to see his friends and family again. it’s the same reason so many people love ardyn of Final Fantasy 15, or any number of other tragic villains
Yes, he's a relatable "There but for the grace of God go I" type of villain, which are the best kind.
48:35 "How does everyone like this guy!" You're not there yet!
after i saw this reaction i was like i wanna see your reaction to 5.3 but then i saw that you just uploaded this video xDD looking forward to that! ;D Also your Au Ra is pretty
i just did that trial for the first time last night. funny seeing this pop into my feed haaha
I love Feo Ul: She says what she thinks, she loves the WoL, even when mad she is cute.
One of the most powerful sorcerers ever to exist: uses gun
The main Shadowbringers story is done, but you still have patch content to go through. Shadowbringers is not done with the feels train yet.
No she's not done with the main part yet ;) There is still 1 whole new zone to explore too.
Truly, we have been blessed with another beautiful day
Not me seeing someones comment in chat about loving Titania's VA - and jumping to try and type > It's Yshtola xD xD
I only recently finished Shadowbringers myself..... and I have to admit my reaction was a little different. Because it went ".... I know you survive, I've seen the gifs of you eating a Taco. I know I survive, because there's literally an expansion after this and then one after that coming out soon, and they're not going to kill off a PC in an MMORPG that's still ongoing."
It did cement my love for Raha though. That did happen.
While all that is correct and makes sense, they did kill off a beloved character in this MMORPG with expansions down the line so while in hindsight for new players there is no worry if they happen to see media, its not outside the realm of truth to say they might kill off an important or beloved character at times in this game. Killing off the PC is, of course, extremely unlikely given the kind of game it is, obviously.
Emet is a good boy
Loved SHB, best story ever in any game!
Oh no, wait till you get to the emotional part!
yeah, i’m currently at stormblood, and i accidentaly read somewhere on google this guy’s true identity, good isn’t it? :,)
Bon Jovi - Shot Through The Heart and Emet-Selch to blame
In my opinion, Emet is the best villain in the FF series so far.
Zenos would like to object .... forcefully.
@@sshakababyZenos isn't a villain though, he's somewhere in the rival/antihero spectrum. He doesn't have any grand plans or world ending ambitions, he just wants to fight.
Vauthry's triple chin echo
An impressive collection of chins.
I don't understand how people can act so surprised at this "reveal". It was super obvious who he was from the very start of the expansion.
It's absolutely obvious and telegraphed, because the twist isn't that it's been G'raha the whole time. The twist is that the plan from the beginning was he was going to sacrifice himself to save your life. He took active steps to stop you and the Scions from saving him, and he tried to play the villain so you wouldn't mourn him when he did.
It was the culmination of all those reveals, and the "you were right the whole time," that triggers the huge emotional response.
are u allergic to technical step?????
yes
Damn, you sure are emotional.
Not a bad thing, just a bit hard for me to comprehend.
you are not a good actor
I wish this was acting bestie
Graha is one of the best characters friggin love him 🤗
PS: May want to buy quadruple toilet rolls for Endwalker 🥲
