As someone who plays ff14 in Japanese with JP va, I’m shocked at how in the English version they left out a major dialogue from Tsuyu’s whole conversations ever since her first appearance in 4.1!!!!! In the Japanese version, from 4.1 she keeps calling Gosestu “grandpa”, in Japanese “oji-chan. That is how one would respectfully address any older gentleman, and in Tsuyu’s case you can tell from the way she talks it has zero love interest tone and purely just a small child calling their grandpa. And by now she has been saying grandpa over and over so there’s no way a player would think they are lovers or anything along that line. Why the English ver remove this out🥲 Because of this no wonder Kristy was so confused of their relationship😭

The Uri scene makes me cry EVERY time. I keep watching playthroughs, and I *always* cry there. I don't know why, but it's such a well-done scene.

The WoL you make can be such a personal choice! I love more androgynous characters for myself so I initially went with a Lala but I couldn’t take the expressions seriously in cutscenes. I was still in free trial so I fanta’d to a catboy while I bought the game. Bunboy was gonna be my endgame but I fell in love with my miqo so hard I can’t picture my WoL being anything else! It’s just a shame that almost all the female options in this game are so hyper feminine. They’re very cute but not for me personally. Maybe if hrothgals had been available when I started playing that would be my WoL but now it’s too late and I’m sticking with my catboy to the end!

But here's Ala Mhigo and Gridania joining forces the moment the Scions ask for their aid.

I have a pretty alien keymap - everything is on the left side of the keyboard. My attack chain on Dragoon was A, S, D, F, A, W, E, R. oGCDs on shifted keys, and I have shift bound to a thumb trigger on my mouse. I move entirely with the mouse; my mouse has a rocker on my thumb I can use for forward/back, and I can push the scroll wheel back and forth to strafe. I use mousewheel to cycle between targets, but YMMV. Alien keymaps have a place! I have wrist damage and the usual MMO keys blow it out.

I like to think we saw a recreation of the real moment when Venat completed the ritual that summoned Hydealyn into herself. That, with all preparations made and certain knowledge of the future, she still couldn't help herself but to try to reason with her people. Because she didn't want to do the horrible thing she had to do (".. that Light split the world, and every life upon it!!" Hades roared). And that's the regret and sorrow we see when she fails... and then we see her become, we see her take on the mantle of Hydealyn and go on to the battle with Zodiark that would sunder creation. But it still doesn't hit as hard as the depiction of her walk through history. Each calamity brutalizing her, diminishing her, but nonetheless knowing that all was for nothing if she can't endure and go on to catch up with.. you, her Champion. It's pretty amazing that even though nobody asked for it, this game just went ahead and coughed up a passably good attempt and defining the meaning of life.

Oh hey it's the cutscene that made me sob for ten minutes straight to the point that my wife had to check on me. I've told this story a lot but: I've played a femroe since I started in 2.1 and there were practically none of us back then, to the point that you'd see a new one in roulettes maybe once a month if you were lucky. Aside from Merlwyb there were basically no major femroe NPCs, either. Then Moen comes along and she's just *perfect*. I thought she'd be with us for years and I'd have a cool ally who resembled my WoL... and then she's gone within a patch and a half in the service of taking out a nothing villain. I never really got over that, and I never felt like the writers really understood what they'd done. I started to get the sense that Ishikawa did when Moen was invoked in Shadowbringers, but I didn't feel like it'd ever really be addressed, just played for "aw, remember how sad that was?" memories... and then this cutscene hit me like a truck and six years of pent-up emotion just burst out of me all at once. I still can't forgive them for the choice they made back in 2015 but I can move on from it. It sounds kind of silly but emotions are like that sometimes.

I unlocked the Pandemonium raids, which tag line is "something to do with pain" - cant remember, and I disconnected because my internet dropped out. Combining the disconnect message with the "raids unlocked screen" was really funny

i will say this, SGE was my first healer job. it was really frickin hard, that first solo duty. and it took me a lot of studying before i could get past it. you can also practice earlier level dungeons with Duty Support and such. but i somehow kept through it and it became my favorite job, and the first one i got to lv100

Since we told Venat tales of our adventures in the past, I like to think that, as Hydaelyn, she found joy in watching us go through those very adventures in the future, thinking back to the details we gave her and watching them play out herself.

The timeline split for shadowbringers in our lifetime, which means that hydaelyn existed in both. She lived 12000 years before the timeline split, so whoever was asking about whether hydaelyn is in the wrong timeline isn't asking a logical question. We aren't in a split time line til the WoL's lifetime.
