Never thought of it like that but suppose you're right Derek. I've a little Yam in there too with the XT 200. Thanks for your comment and for watching. Best, Rod
Hey Rod, glad to see you back after a well deserved break. It looks like you have some interesting stuff for us to look forward to. Hope your Father's Day was a good one for you. Thanks for the video and looking forward to the future videos.
Hey Jack. I'm UK based but I have a number of guys Stateside who source the bikes for me. It usually works OK - most people are really straight and represent their bikes honestly. I've been burnt just a couple of times - but I just don't go back to anyone who's turned me over. It's the old story, burn me once...shame on him...burn me twice...shame on me. :0) Thanks for watching.
I’m curious how these cost of shipping or importing bikes is feasible. Even if you got them at rock bottom prices I would have thought shipping would be prohibitive….
Shipping is the last refuge of the Wild West and costs vary hugely. Its possible to pay 1000 dollars to move a single bike and getting L-f-L comparisons isn't easy. You just need to do the homework and bust their chops to get the best deal you can for the biggest number of bikes. This reduces the unit cost per bike to a bearable level. Then there's duties etc. For me this is not a get-rich-quick enterprise but a passion.
@@rodcurrieclassics8102 Economies of scale and doing it for the fun of it makes sense. I’m a novice with similar motivations, so very appreciative of the content, which is informative and inspiring. So far I’ve got a 78 Yamaha XS750 Special and a 85 Kawasaki 454 LTD back on the road. Getting them working again is half the fun.
Hi Jack. There's tons of information out there these days so you'll usually be able to find a vid on that thing that's burning you...better still a couple in case one is posted by a donkey. :0) Keep at it and you'll be as bald as I am. Its great when you bring a bike back from being a basket case to watching a guy ride off on a bike he's proud to own.
Hi There, can I get your email I have a bike I'm looking and and I would appreciate your opinion . Lots of old bikes for sale in Manitoba and many with very low kms do to our extreme cold winters
Hi there. I don't do Instagram I'm afraid. I had a bad experience with Facebook a few years ago and have been wary of social media since. You can however mail me on rodcurrie88@gmail.com any time and I'll get back to you. Best, Rod. Thanks for watching
Nice one Rod look forward to the next instalment 👍🏻🏴
Thanks Luke. Lots of stuff coming up, so something I hope to tickle everyone.
Nice, looking forward to the future content. Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki and BMW, you got it pretty much all covered. 👍
