    I wanted to express my appreciation for your sharing Elvis with the new generation. Now that I’m in the golden years of my life and I looked back when I was your age the greatest moments I can remember of my lifetime were the days that I saw Elvis in concert. He was always my hero since I I was a little girl I remember looking at the TV set when I was five years old and that was 65 years ago. How a little girl can fall in love instantly, and that love could take her through a lifetime still amazes me. People can idolize someone but I can honestly say I genuinely love this man as you would love a family member and thank you for honoring his memory, God bless you and I’ll keep my eye out for more Elvis videos.

    If we could quantify talent...he didn't have the highest voice in the world, he didn't have the most technical vocal technique, he didn't write music, wasn't a virtuoso on any instrument, almost always never gave note perfect flawless live performances ........but his one talent was moving millions of people and making them feel he was singing only for them. And that was enough to make him the Greatest Singer of the 20th century .....not the best....but The Greatest. Forget the polls. Some things are just tue. His Greatness will live on long after our journey has ended.

    Elvis the G.O.A.T, the king forever!
    One of Elvis's great character traits is his generosity. When he became famous, he always bought expensive gifts, such as cars and houses, for his friends, and he bought a mansion for his mother. Elvis made many contributions to the world of music.

    Hey hot mama. Thank you for the reaction. I've seen this like clip a number of times and it never ceases to amaze me but I'm glad you pointed out his knees because I've never heard anybody do that before but that is so athletic. To be able to over and over again going to those deep crouches and lunges and hold it while still singing with a whole bunch of breasts and presents and then to slowly rise up or at the very ending to just jump up from a very deep lunging posture is just tremendous. And it's not just his knees it's his core strength but he was definitely an athlete. Even when you watch his younger stuff which is the thing that Elvis impersonators make fun of, he'll do these moves where he just freeze frames and he's holding his whole body still on the tips of his toes. He also did the original moonwalk. Except that he did it sideways which is even more difficult. The guy was an athlete but yeah I love the goofy aspect for sure. I think the backing vocalists he was giving attention to was Whitney Houston's mom but I'm not entirely sure. I know that she was in his band. But they obviously are cracking each other up. But there are some videos floating around up there, some of them short and some of them longer, with a lot of outtakes and bloopers of Elvis just being hilarious. He does this thing where he's playing the piano and he works his way to the right up the register of the keyboard, and then he just keeps going and does this fall off of the piano bench and it's just hilarious. He's a real clown when he wants to be for sure. Or he was anyway. Born into poverty and never forgot it even once he started to get rich and I don't think he handled it well and It ultimately destroyed him. He gave away so much and was always trying to help people. He really is a fascinating character in our pop culture history. Not to mention one of the greatest singers

    Some people like Chuck D claim he’s a racist because he “stole” music from black people. I wonder if folks like Chuck D know that when he was on tour in the south in the 50s and 60s and the club said they wouldn’t let the black members of his band in he said: “If they don’t come in, I don’t come in.” Long before Chuck was born.

    • @kentlewis987
      @kentlewis987 Рік тому

      I wonder if Chuck D was aware that Chuck Berry was influenced by country music. In fact his first hit, Maybellene, set new lyrics to a country classic called Ida Red. Berry would later say that most of the music he heard growing up was western music.

    • @timgray3790
      @timgray3790 3 роки тому

      Some person that replied started their comments with not trying to be mean, then went into a diatribe of offensive comments. I’ll just skip their first comment because it’s just too offensive. But yes, Mrs smith is the one that runs away. Estelle was his favorite backup singer who he thought deserved to be on her own because she was so good. And yes, Cissy was a backup up singer from 66 to 69, I didn’t say different. If this someone is just stalking me from a post on another reactor whom I love, my reference to Cissy was on the inspirations view on him, not whom was singing from year to year. The inspirations were with him in 70 and 73, the most popular concerts that are on UA-cam and the 68 comeback special that does include Cissy. But no, none of them look like twins. And yes, this persons comments were mean and insulting. The only times I’m ever confused about who someone is at work with these 2 guys at work who look alike in my kind anyway. When together I can tell the difference. Oh, btw, they are both white. One of my best friends, which is a small group because I have trust issues is black and I love him like a brother, hell, more than a couple of my brothers. I have a black and a Hispanic brother in laws and I love them both. My sisters could not have done better. So if are basing your argument on my love of Elvis based on a story that was disproved by anyone who did any research on the topic,, by the ever racist Jet magazine(sarcasm), it was proved the only ding in Elvis armor was a joke attributed to Elvis actually was started by a white artist that hated Elvis. The guy gave away just about every penny he ever made to others, especially those in the ghetto where he came from himself. So if you want to come after me with something else please do. I’m not perfect so there is plenty but there is not a racist bone in my body. Color of skin only matters when a race is not getting the right to the pursuit of happiness and all rights this great country gives us. But judging based on race or thinking they all look alike which is your statement Staci Wylie, is disgusting. Born and raised in the ghettos in Detroit Michigan myself helped me learned a lot about people and the sadness of people’s plight. At the same time it also helped me understand the issues with liberalism and their disregard for the people since it’s liberals running these big liberal cities. I’m assuming I’m touching a nerve there and it should. It was liberals after all who moved these inner city jobs to China and Mexico. As MLK said judge people on their character not the color of their skin. I do that and so far the ugliest people I know are white, but even then it’s a small number of people but enough to know the evil of racism that actually effects lives of people Is way to high and implementation of the civil rights act and some who feel helping Chinese workers in China is more important than American workers in the inner cities need to be dealt with. With that said, people like Elvis is what the world needs more of, not mocked because he speaks on topics out of love when no one else like him could help lead to changes. His legacy stands airtight for his civil rights activism and you can say whatever you want about me. Have the guts to not post it and then delete it. Love trumps color as it should.

      @@rullmourn1142 umm yes, Estelle is behind Myrna on the other mic. What the heck. Look up the sweet inspirations. I grew watching these beautiful ladies singing with Elvis. I know who is who. Nope and as another said, “they all look alike” racist comment is not a freaking answer. Estelle is singing with Cissy’s singing “replacement”, just not a new sweet inspirations replacement. I figure that was self explanatory but with today’s generation it seems an obvious answer is just not enough). You guys seem to make up your own truth. Before you type “you are the one making up truth man”, I’ve watched Elvis through the 60’s until today. I know him and his band inside and out. Huge fan for well over 50 years now. I don’t need any truth spitting and I don’t need facts from basement dwellers as I tell a certain family member of mine, who’s name and relationship I’ll leave out in case the person reads this.
