A combo that functions kind of like the 5 snow drifts is Arctic Bullvore + Frigid Hornbeast or White Wyrmling. You're still getting the big burst of damage from the chill CD + swoop, but the bullvore brings in 150 stones worth of carry weight as a 3 slot mule and they both do a small amount of cleave with their abilities. Plus, the bullvore charge just feels satisfying. Still got a few days of bonus cav spawn rate to sift through those spawns.
Hey PWN, appreciate these melee / tamer info videos. Could you do a video on how to taming when you don’t have peacemaking. Also combining taming resources like what to tame at different levels and rune book libraries etc would be great. Keep the videos coming brother.
Grab a tank pet have it guard you. Then once it has aggro of the pet your taming tell it to follow you so it stops doing dmg back. Then take and keep your pet healed 😃
Ive been rocking 4 polar bears, 1 guar for tanking. Its been absolutely wrecking shit. When I group with guildies they cant believe the damage these things have been putting out. nearly 50% underdog bonus, another 25% zoology bonus, then add all the other stuff from the bestiary and taming skills. When they enrage they hit for nearly 500 on lower armor targets, and there are 4 of them enraging every couple seconds. Im going to try out the army ant group you have just to give it a shot but man my polar bears have been kicking ass.
@@PwnstarrGaming Any bear will work I think. I just picked something with 1 control slot that was on the first page of the zoology chart and went with it. Have not regretted it so far. They are eating things in seconds. The only issue I have is mobs that have a lot of aoe and getting multiples on my tamer cause he goes down like a wet bag of sand. I am only tier 7 command so far, but its by far the easiest farming character I have made. Before the patch I was doing fairly ok with your standard lemura + dps stuff but now...holy shit. I want to run 5 bears but having the tank has come in clutch a few times.
I was trying to run a mage tamer for years and I hated it. You just don't have enough skill points to do what you need to do to gain mana. I was always out. But, then, I was also trying to have poisoning in there because I thought he would be on the ocean. Anyway, I went dexxer because of your last video and I do love it. Excellent follow up video! I'd only add that I do love taking advantage of the menagerie bonus when possible. But your bestiary choices made more sense. Thanks for everything you do! Youre awesome.

Cave Gorger + Swamp Drake was fun on my mage echo. Swampy would usually land his entangle on the opener, enabling gorger to gorge without relying on his passive. Then 10 seconds later I would lightning to force the next gorge as soon as it was off CD. By the time I pulled the next mob, swampy's breath was up again to entangle another enemy to set up the next gorge. If swampy missed and lightning wasn't ready, cave gorger's passive would sometimes fill the gap. This helped smooth out the damage and keep it consistent. Darkscale + corpse eater was kinda neat as well. The darkscale being a 4 slotter has a ton of health and its disease is a 10 second CD so it's basically always up meaning Beast Sting is always active. I also ran 2 ranks of carrion to help ensure he was getting that big 120 point heal every 15 seconds. This wasn't the most DPS, but it was very steady and stable. I switched from 60 eval to 60 inscription to run support for the rest of the party. Most of my casting was heals and buffs. My darkscale's disease did about 230 per tick and after 10 seconds, it stacks up another cast of the disease. The corpse eater's disease did about 150/tick, which was pretty solid considering he's a lil 1 slotter.
Searing mantis is amazing, I was rocking 2 with a fire bat, I find the fact that the talents benefit them a lot cuz they have 2 passives... but I'll try out a rime guar like someone here said to see if it's better.

Yes its still viable. I wouldn't be putting focus on a melee tamer. Your main source of damage is from your pets and focus does nothing for your pets . Where arms lore is helpful to your pets

Two searing mantis and a rime guar is great. Chill effect for increased damage. Can also pair the guar with molten mongbats, which are amazing

Yes its still viable.

Wolfhounds were really strong. Those are found in aegis lvl 1 if I recall.
