My Dad had gout problem and he swore eating cherries and drinking cherry juice helped him out. I hope they turn Ghost town around. I went there in the 60s, took my kids there in the 90s and love to take my Grandkids there.

Black cherry juice helps with Gout. Also stay away from peanuts, shellfish, and alcohol and quite a few other foods that raise your uric acid levels. Hope you feel better soon, thanks for the video!
Ground beef for some reason gets mine have to limit my beef intake every 3 days. And greens will also get me almost right away also. And it sucks so bad.
@@jodysales2362 I got it several times. It started traveling from the foot to the hand. Then it went up behind my knee. It hurt so bad, I thought I was going to have my knee replaced. It had started pulling the muscle away from the bone. I had it surgery to remove it. Thank God they have a pill for it now
red meet on the rawer side makes it act up. like Jody Sales said also beef like burgers.
I hope they’re able to eventually open up Ghost Town again.

@@desertdogg9773 Probably. Sadly once a fun park has run its course it seldom gets a second chance, or at least not for long or at the same level of success as before. The thing that would be a real draw for me and I think others would be those hill train thingies and that would cost a buttload of money to get going at a safe standard.

Enjoyed your walk around the lake and seeing what all is around there. When we used to go to Maggie Valley we always drove by the lake but never took the time to check it all out. I’m glad the people are at least cleaning up Ghost Town. I got my pins and button the other day. I’m going to enjoy them. Thank you for doing this vlog. I needed something happy to think about today.

Thanks for the Ghost Town update. I saw in The Proper People's video they used some of your footage. With the history of that park, I'll believe it when I see it - whether it's reopened, turned into condos, or whatever. I'd like to see something positive come out of it instead of everything rotting away.

Hey Jacob! I remember going to Maggie Valley and Soco Gardens Zoo with my grandparents years ago. :) Always wanted to go to Ghost Town. About the gout, try to avoid pork. Hubby has got issues, and they get worse when we are eating lots of bacon. Another thing, Iron Mountain forge is open in Pigeon Forge for private classes. My uncle is doing lots of knife making lessons!

Used to go to junaluska as a kid w my grandparents for a thing called Folkmoot where they had dancing troupes from all over the world come together for a week of meeting each other and then show everyone their culture . It was so much fun . I think they still have it but it’s completely not the same and more of a missionary type situation it seems now .

Dollywood offered to buy it in 2019 but the city would not build a dedicated road abd supply water up to the park. I have a relative that was part of the committee that wrote up the proposal to buy it. The city of Maggie Valley really missed the opportunity to boost the economy there!
I can still see my beautiful mother buying shiny crap In that gift shop 40 years ago. The inside hasn't changed much when I peek through the windows.
Jacob, my friend and I are doing all of Route 66 on vintage pedal mopeds. (Maximum speed, about 40mph) we are starting our UA-cam channel with preparations to do Route 66. (We are also camping as much as possible) 😁😎

You are exactly right about the Methodist retreat! I’ve been to Lake J and Asheville many times for religious reasons.
I hear the hammers and saws. I have been watching GTITS videos for awhile now from different people and someone else looked into the gift shop in one made awhile back and it didn’t look like it does on here. The big table and chairs was not in the center of the room and it was full of merchandise, even hanging racks of t-shirts and there was a large stone (?) horse in there. Haha! Should have finished the video before I posted because you got the scoop!

If the googly eyes are the worst vandalism you see, your doing quite well. I'd be more worried about those restrooms being closed.

We have some great family memories from Ghost Town. The incline was scarier than the chair lift ever was.
One of the best parts was the former carnies who let the rides go faster and longer than they ever needed to go. They literally had a Tilt-O-Hurl. Can't count how many people I watched barf as they came off the ride. Good times, good times. Umbrellas and Pirate ship that flung you over the edge of the mountain for an extra measure of thrill. And of course, the Red Devil Roller Coaster. Aaaah memories. Sweet memories.
Love you show my friend how about a trip either to the old North Wilkesboro Speedway and trip down to Dale Earnhardt Junior's Old West Town he has either one would be great stay safe my friend God bless
Hiya Jacob! Ok, the best stuff for gout..and I know from experience, is 100 % Pure Cherry Juice. This can be bought at any supermarket, sells for about $5.00, in the bottle juices aisle. A group of us work at a Home Depot and swear by this over any medication! Be well, thumbs up always!

Tart cherry concentrate will take care of a gout attack quickly. Also Allopurinol is a prescription taken every day. It's cheap and should stop it for good. I've never had an attack since taking it.

11/17/2020 I live in Maggie right next to Ghost town and still nothing has been announced. They need to do something with it before it starts getting run down and an eyesore. A shame they didnt keep the Zip line going. Love your videos Carpetbagger...keep em comin!
Lake Junaluska is usually used for Methodist pastors to step away from the stresses of everyday life and reflect on their life. I remember my own pastor went there for about 5-6 months.

Ghost Town was always that place me and my family would go on our vacation to Maggie Valley. I live at the beach, but I never see the beach. For coastal people it was always "let's go to the mountains!" The last time I got to go to Ghost Town, I had finally worked up the courage to ride the Red Devil, their roller coaster. I was a teenager at that time. We get there and the thing is down because it needed repair. I was so disappointed. The Black Widow was still going though. Nothing like a scrambler in a dark room and blaring music. lol Every time I went they had the same gentleman acting as the sheriff. It would be nice to go back.
I was expecting a grumpy lady in a white pick-up truck to drive up behind you and order you to vacate the premises or she'd call the police.😊

My family has a place in Maggie valley so I remember to goin to ghost town as a kid. I wish it was still goin but it needs so many updates. It was still in kinda rough shape years ago.
Since spring 19 they have slowly done some work on the old park. Hope by next March they can. Do a Slow open.. But they need to put up security measures now .

I hope this doesn't get destroyed if and when the property gets used again.
