Considering the relatively small size of this lake, it’s an impressive lagoon show that celebrates some of the greatest cinematic scores Universal owns and licenses-which means it’s fantastic! I was a Disney kid through and through, yet I’m constantly pleased by Universal’s latest projects. Not gonna bury my head in pixie dust to pretend Disney is still at the top.
Let me just say that CineSational: A Symphonic Spectacular looks absolutely incredible! The way that the show combines drones, fountains, pyrotechnics and more, along side moments from various films, is fantastic! Universal Creative is really stepping up their game! 😀👏👏👏👍👍
The segments where they used the extra elements to enhance the clips are a lot better than the bits where they just project the clips onto the buildings or just project generic stuff. The trolls, despicable me, jaws, back to the future and ghostbusters segments use it really well. I think the kong segment could’ve used more drones to make the empire state feel more like part of the skyline, rather than a 2D billboard.

Hey there! We're not allowed to use the GhostBusters' themselves in any media that would have the actors faces in it because of, as you said, likeness. Same reason as to why both HHN trailers for the GhostBusters mazes don't include the actors themselves and the mazes don't use any voice lines from the actors themselves!
It's very enjoyable but some of the water screen projections aren't very clear, too much thrown on it in every moment, slight edit would do a big different. Anyways, Universal is on direct route to beat disney...
Yes the water projections were a little hard to make out. Also maybe reduce the streams of water shooting up because they maybe affecting the projections. Other than that Excellent Job Universal! Beat Disney at it's own game!
This all depends on the weather too....if it's a little too windy over the lagoon the water sprays aren't as direct as they would normally be. This would happen with the previous show as well. Not much Universal can do about that.
Disney started doing drone shows in Paris in 2022 and they're still much better than this. Look up Disney electrical Sky parade. Not to mention just created Fantasmic 32 years ago

Although I like it, I do wish they had incorporated more of the following: consistently using projections onto the buildings and drones for all sequences, transitions could be less jarring and more Dreamworks and Illumination properties plus the Bourne Trilogy too. and although they used all the most important and popular IPs they had, I am also not sure that is the ideal sequences of events but I do like how the ones they did use were portrayed 😃

My only complaint about this show is that there's not enough pyro. Also, the drawer should have been in 3D similar to the electrical Sky parade Paris. They still did a really good job in this by far their best night time show so far
The problem with Universal and pyro is their location. The theme park is really close to a lot of residential zones so I'm pretty sure they have certain ordinances they have to follow.

That's a very low bar to clear. USO nighttime shows have been terrible and this is just slightly above terrible. No narrative. Nothing to make you feel something other than look its Jurassic Park. Oh now its Mummy.

This can't hold a candle to WoC. Even the drones are subpar. Go look at Dreams that Soar and the difference between how drones are used in that show versus what this show did. They started well with toothless being 3D and then everything else was just 2D. This is just songs from movies with random scenes added. There are not even transitions from movie to movie. I am guessing you also thought Villaincon was amazing.

It’s fine. My main issue is the show is very wide rather than tall. So the drones look so swallowed up by everything else. Compare that to the impact the Casey Jr train drone has going over the Disney castle in Paris. It does feel like a World of Color with some relatively small drones popping up every so often.

Where to begin..... this show stresses me the heck out. It's chaotic, cluttered, and disorganized. It feels like Universal Creative just said lets take everything we possibly can cram into a lagoon show and throw it all in there together and see how it turns out. From the cheesy narrator, to the generic theatrical soundtrack that sounds like something from Epidemic Sound, a show that is supposed to be all about the beautiful music in movies failed to give me any feelings whatsoever other than anxiety. They should have kept Cinematic Celebration as the basis for the show, including the soundtrack, and just updated/upgraded the fountains and visual effects. Add in the drones. Maybe add some different scenes for different IP's. That would have been better than this.

Where to begin..... this show stresses me the heck out. It's chaotic, cluttered, and disorganized. It feels like Universal Creative just said lets take everything we possibly can cram into a lagoon show and throw it all in there together and see how it turns out. From the cheesy narrator, to the generic theatrical soundtrack that sounds like something from Epidemic Sound, a show that is supposed to be all about the beautiful music in movies failed to give me any feelings whatsoever other than anxiety.
They should have kept Cinematic Celebration as the basis for the show, including the soundtrack, and just updated/upgraded the fountains and visual effects. Add in the drones. Maybe add some different scenes for different IP's. That would have been better than this.
