Boy he really did that bike correctly.
that is the most beautiful motorcycle I have ever seen.
It's stunning isn't it! Best wishes
That is a seriously pretty looking BMW.
That is so clean. That orange just pops.
It's a little piece of jewellery, perfect.
That's the best looking BMW I've ever seen! Thanks Mike.
Glad you like it, Gene! Thanks a lot. Best wishes, Mike
Loved seeing the personal flare he added to this bike. Paint job is is amazing, I’m a British bike guy at heart but this Beemer is pretty cool 😎
Dear Mike, the BMW from that guy is in great condition! So very clean! I like this golden wheels and I remember the Gus Kuhn-BMWs in the 70th years. Your short interviews with the friends are so beautiful: Thanks a lot and all the best from Allgäu/Germany to all of You. Ulli
Many thanks Hans-Ulrich! It's very kind of you to say so. I have really enjoyed meeting so many wonderful folks this summer and their amazing bikes. Best wishes, Mike
There is attention to detail, and there is attention to detail. There aren't too many bikes out there that are this well presented and, in my opinion, so tastefully done. Such subtle elegance in such a masculine bike makes this a really unique approach at a custom.
Stunning bike. I’m just getting started with my CS restoration and this bike is becoming the reference point.
Wow, what a clean bike. That guy seems cool.
Have a 1980 R100 Rt myself
Amazing bikes
Stunning bike Marty!
Some bikes look like they've come straight out of the showroom, but Marty's bike looks better than new. All the little improvements and the silver/grey frame look great. He probably could have got a job in BMWs design team.
Fantastic note Kevin. Thanks a lot. Yes, Marty has done such an amazing job with his bike. Best wishes, Mike
Incredible bike! Just beautiful.
That is an Airhead reference paint job to do... That Daytona Orange (egg yoke) color has to be wone of my favorite paint jobs on a Motorcycle ever, It's a big deal... Like it with the sliver Frame and swingin arm two, and the back Olins suspencion a very nicely deteled Bmw Airhead. I have to get a 70/80's Airhead that has not been ''bastardised'' .💯
Wow. Nothing more beautiful than to see dedication to something! Respect. R100S. Like it too. Different world to drive than modern bikes.
Damn. That R100S looks better than a brandnew one. wow.
What a beautiful example of the R100 S , absolute amazing colour too , your very blessed Mike knowing all these people with these wonderful machines and you have a couple too .
Thanks very much once again for sharing Mike 👍
Thank you Andrew. Yes that was a fabulous looking, iconic bike. It's been so great getting to know such interesting and cool guys and gals! Best wishes, Mike
I need to get my R100S back on the road.
What a beauty ❤. Always hankered after the R90S in Daytona Orange when they first came out in the UK back in the day purely cos of that colour scheme. Never been equalled by any manufacture since in my opinion. This R100 is very well maintained. Thanks for sharing 👍stay safe. ATVB from sunny Malaysia 😎😷🇲🇾
Sehr schönes Motorrad und ein super Klang.
Hallo und danke für deinen Kommentar. Es ist auf jeden Fall ein tolles Fahrrad. die besten Wünsche
THAT BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL BIKE CLEAN
YUMMY! Old Air Head and old Leather Jacket that the company owner measured up for him ! Oh man that is just to dang cool! The bike just Looks and sounds perfict like it is. I have not been in Portland since 2013 or so (When I got my last Langlitz) but I hope to be there again one day (perhaps to get a Commando) and looking forward to seeing the lovely country side ! Thanks for another great Sunday cuppa!
Thank you E! I thought you would like this one! Best wishes, Mike
Pure beauty. Makes me recall my 1982 R100RS which was at it's best above 70 mph
Wow BEAUTIFUL BMW WOW CLEAN
So clean, the paint looks very fresh. I say, the silver frame makes the Orange just pop right out, black frame would seem to suck some of the paint brightness up. vielen Dank für ihre Show
This looks like a neighborhood i used to live in in Beaverton.
Thank you so much for sharing! I just bought one of these a week ago, nowhere near as clean, but watching this gives me something to aspire to.
The paint is TWENTY-TWO years old!? That's quite amazing - getting a finish like that is one thing, but to end up with durability that seems practically like fired enamel is another all together.
A favorite of mine since I saw it in Cycle World...
Long time ago!
Wait a minute thats not a R90S... well, it looks very cool!
Thank you Pablo. Best wishes, Mike
Thanks for making this video of Marty's R100S. I bought one several years ago('78 R100S) and have been getting it back to nice condition. It's always good to see a show bike example to give you guidance on a refurbishment of your own work in process.
Many thanks Todd for your note. Glad you enjoyed the video. Good luck with your bike and I hope everything goes well. Cheers, Mike
What a timeless great looking bike!! And great idea to paint the frame silver.
Thanks a million Mike ! I had also assumed from the previous glance that it was a stock R90S - a really interesting and perfectly executed “custom”, beautiful ! Greetings from SG
Hi Phil. Thought you might like it 😉 Cheers, Mike
Wow so clean, but not overdone even though everything is done. Done well!
Thanks for your note. It really is a great bike 👍👍
That’s one beautiful BMW,he obviously love’s it❤️❤️❤️
This bike sounds so clean and pure
another favourite most admit i had an r80/7 1978 and toured Europe on it when i was a bit younger 3 months and 9000 miles most comfortable bike i have ever owned . the attention to detail is some if not the best i have ever seen
Thanks a lot Richard for your great note. I'm glad that you enjoyed the video and that it brought back some good memories. Best wishes, Mike
A credit to the owner. I had an R80 and R100GS. We rode all over Queensland 2 up with camping gear on the R80 it never put a tyre wrong. Incredibly reliable bikes. The 800cc engines are a lot smoother than the 1000cc engines. A quite useful touring bike. We upgraded the suspension to WP to handle the dirt roads, other than that it was stock.
Thanks a lot for sharing Bernie! Best wishes, Mike
There was others that did that fade paint and perfect. Worked right next to Zap Motors in Milwaukie , and we did a lot of them.. His R-100 Rs was quite trick in the day. lightened flywheel, wire wheels (DID) 4 speed box, dual plugs/etc.. Would run to Mexico all the time with my friends R90s. Use to ride that one quite a bit back in the late 70's I remember his one bike that got totaled (loaned out for a drive up the street) had that very orange paint job..
Here is my bike at the time.. Painted with a BMW theme Black/ Silver fade. at the same shop ibb.co/7NXtHwY
Wow, a beautiful bike that looks like it's been ridden straight from a fresh restoration! It's a real credit to the owner and the painter.
Excellent video too Mike. I love the way you get clear shots of the bike, let the owners tell their story and capture the sound superbly, as they arrive and leave!
Top job, thanks!
Many thanks Dom! I really enjoy these visits to the cul-de-sac and the 2022 season premiere begins on Sunday morning with something a little different 😎 Best wishes, Mike
One of the bikes I’ve always lusted for.
Remember an old British magazine that did a long distance comparison test with Z900 and R100.....they didn't like the Bing carbs but loved the long distance ride from the BM .....nice colours
What a nice bike, congrats
Marty has done a great job with that BMW...it's stunning. Thanks for sharing.
Very nice. Having had several all original R90S' in Daytona Orange, that is a great job and looks super on that 100.
What a beautiful bemmer, very sporty.
What a beautiful BMW, nice to see. Great colour.
Loved the tank badges, nice touch 👍
We now need a Laverda 3c/Jota, if you can find one that’ll stay still long enough 😀
Thanks Mike, these Cul-de-Sac vids are fantastic.
All the best, have a great week 😀
Thank you David. Hmm, 🤔 who do I know who has a Jota! I will have to look into that. Thanks a lot for your great comment. I really do appreciate it. Best wishes, Mike
Set you a challenge, now I feel guilty 😀
Good luck 🍀 finding one.
Wow, Perfekt! 👍
Showroom stuff..... beautiful machine.
Thank you for your nice note. Much appreciated. It is a stunning bike. Cheers, Mike
Great series mike, a real pleasure to watch! Regards paul, leeds uk
Thanks a lot Paul. Best wishes, Mike
Absolutely Stunning Bike.
Marty has embellished his R100S with lots of love obviously! Now to figure out how Mike posted so timely. At my Saturday morning meeting yesterday I had a friend ride his R90S! Does Mike have ESP?
It's funny George, but I knew you were going to say that 😉😎 best wishes, Mike
Another classic video and bike. Thanks
Beautiful bike 😍
Thanks a lot Erwin for your note. Best wishes, Mike
Not the most original, but surely one of the nicest, cleanest, most beautiful beemers out there. It’s one of those bikes you instantly just want. And Martie is waaay too cool! Mind you, I can still get into my 30 year-old leathers so we do have something in common, as well as a 1970s boxer 😉. Thanks for posting, Mike 👍🏻
Couldn't agree more! Thanks a lot Steve. Hope all is well. Best wishes, Mike
Superb looking..I remember that paint 🎨 on the original ones...Wonderful detailing..great video Mike..😎🇬🇧🇺🇸🏍
Thank you William. Glad you enjoyed it. Best wishes, Mike
Awesome bike! Looks brand new but better.
What a beauty

Hola Rafa, muchas gracias por tu gran nota. Me alegro que disfrutes de los videos. Mis mejores deseos, Mike
Beautiful! Thanks.
Thanks Dave. Glad you like it! Cheers, Mike
Great video! We have to keep in mind BMW has done some beautiful machines too! Ok, beauty is - but these are among the most beautiful anyhow. The paintwork is stunning.
Hehe, thank you! Cheers, Mike
Great looking bike
beautiful !
And I may also add mechanically perfect❤️
Yes, for sure Gerry! Thanks a lot for your note. Cheers, Mike
Very nice indeed - and unique too!
Many thanks! Cheers, Mike
What a beauty 👌
Oh my God! I also have a 125 Suzi from 1978, but I don't dare to show it. I would have to put my everyday " Mopped" into Marty's hands first ,so that at least some shine comes out. :-))
Haha, thanks Joe. Cheers, Mike
Such a beautiful, mint, pristine airhead! They don't make them like this anymore. Build to last forever.
One cool bike I wish I had it nice video and one cool guy cheers
I think if BMW had put out the R Nine T Racer in the original Daytona Orange w/red pinstripe and Silver Smoke w/gold pinstripe sales would have been a lot better.
That would be an awesome combo!
that guy was in love .
Hehe 😉😎 best wishes, Mike
That guy obviously put a lot of work on this bike.
It's almost too perfect
Great video looks fantastic stay safe looking forward to next one 🇬🇧👍🏻
Thank you Richard. Best wishes, Mike
Foi um sonho de moto !
Obrigado pelo seu comentário. Estou feliz que você gostou do vídeo. Muitas felicidades
Beautiful. Machine nothing better than a bm r100 i have a 77 r100rs i won't give it away for a anything
Sunday morning lechery! Incidentally have you seen YT yesterday about the Egli Godet Vincent? Didn't know you could get brand new Vincent Shadows. So gorgeous!

Thank you Andrew. I watched the video. It was fantastic. The guys are extremely professional and it's a wonderful video. Thank you.
Many thanks for sharing the link. Really appreciate it and hope everyone gets the chance to watching it. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Cheers, Mike
very nice 😜👍
Thank you Mick for your note! Cheers, Mike
Those airhead BMWs sound so good. Hate to change the subject, but what ever happened to the Norton Manxman project?
No problem at all. Yes, I have to get back to the Manxman. I've been so busy over the summer that I haven't made much progress. But hopefully over the winter. Cheers, Mike
I owned an R90S & R100S. Wish I had the Dellortos instead of Bings on the latter.
This is the video you have been teasing me with your previous comments, what a beauty! My only issue is it could have been longer with some more technical details, I need to re-watch it but I don’t think the seat was mentioned (an original R100RS seat?) and the carbs look like Dellorto carbs off an R90S? Everything Marty has done has improved the bike, if I had the cheek to suggest anything extra I’d say put a pair of old /6 rocker covers on. Thanks 🇬🇧🏍
Having watched it for the 2nd time I must apologise, there were plenty of technical details mentioned just not a couple of things I happened to notice. And the bike sounded fab as well ! 🇬🇧🏍
Thank you Stewy. It's all good. Glad you liked it. I wish we had more time to go into more technical detail but I try to set the videos to around 10 minutes. Best wishes, Mike
Wow thats a beautiful bike, why do I want all the bikes that come to your cul-de-sac? Looking forward to next week already, how you going to beat that? Have a great week, Lenny, Leicestershire, UK.
You and me both Lenny! I just think "well, maybe just one more" and then the next one comes 😉😎 best wishes, Mike
What a peach ATE brake callipers no good in the wet if. You've got to give yourself plenty of. Braking distance paint job. Looks great Luftmiester exhaust gives it a great. Tone last I heard luftmiester are no more
2:50. Looks like a Dellorto accelerator pump carb. Is that standard? I always associate Bing carbs with BMW boxers.
Might see you again maybe at see sees 😆 🤣 Take care Mike 🙂
Haha, it has become a favorite place to ride to. The coffee is very good too! Best wishes Stephen. 😉
Really nice bike and it sounds great to! Is this a 1000cc bike? Its swell!
Head to toe, everything is clean!
Those rear shocks look like they would actually work. :-) any idea what shocks those are?
Mike will you please just give up with these videos. I want a BMW now as well !!!! Used to lust after the gold R100rs ? with full touring fairing at Dawsons' in Scarborough and the only criticism Superbike Magazine made was that the fork gaiters kept slipping out of the fairing.
HAHA! Sorry 😉😎 best wishes, Mike
When I can no longer kick my 2 classic Triumphs, it'll have to be a Beemer.
buy a K1300S and your youth will re appear, adrenalin pumping, artery clearing, health machine, if you can tame the bike, that is!
What does he mean by "no smoke"? (1:05)
Hi Peter, there has been some terrible wildfires in Oregon, and California and smoke that hung in the air for several days. Marty is referring to the clearer skies after the smoke had cleared. Cheers, Mike.
@@TheMightyGarage OK, I see. I didn't know that as I live in quite a different part of the world. Thank you so much for the clarification! 🙂
A classic looking motorcycle in THE colour. BMWs are a very sophisticated mechanical machine, try repairing them, it's not like working on a Triumph, I sold my 2 BMWs last year, a 1985 K100 which was a barn find having stood for 20 years or more, I restored it.....and a K1200RS, the RS being one very quick motorcycle. owning those 2 bikes and having to do all the mechanical work myself due to the dealership fees being way to expensive I consider myself a self taught BMW mechanic with no desire to own another, unless it comes my way for a really low $ price.

Another great video from the Ace Cul-De-Sac
