- Walksnail just dropped some new HD video hardware on the FPV market, but is it a step up from the parts that released with the system last year? Today we are going to take a look at two of Caddx's new V2 budles including the V2 camera, V2 VTX, and their new Pro camera. Want to stabilize your flight footage? This thing has it. Want to flight in low light? This does that too! Need something more rugged? Well sure, why not. But is any of it actually any good...well we will just have to see about that.

I really think they are paying attention, and the system is maturing for sure. I think there is still a good long way to go until it has reached its full potential, but that isn't a bad thing either! I really appreciate you watching, and I know it is just because some people get really entrenched in their like for one thing or another. Great thing about FPV though, nothing will be the same thing for any two pilots who fly it, and that makes all of it just a little more special :)

Thank you man! Yeah for the $20 I would pick the pro too. The option to get low light performance while also looking darn good in the day time and having 4x the storage on board really is worth the price difference.
Great grandparents from both sides migrated to Texas from Poland. Escargot is effing delicious because garlic and butter. I’d eat the WalkSnail V2 if it was swimming in garlic butter.
I do like garlic and butter......I just don't know that I can handle the idea of it, lol. I'd love to see you bite into a v2 all covered in garlic butter grease :p
I’ve been back n forth on camera system for my first build and was leaning towards the 03 air unit…..until seeing this system. And I like the fat sharks looks better than DJI haha. The low light feature reallllllly has my attention.
The low light really is impressive! I will say though, Caddx also made the Polar Pro low light camera for the DJI system and it performs well too. I think this pro cam does a little better job, and it does it in full 1080p in high frame rate down the road some time. I think it is a solid option to go this way, but either way I don't think you would be dissapointed.

Thank you!!! I have been really enjoying the v2 kits lately, and the firmware updates have really helped the smearing a bit on my 1S rigs as well. I am kind of ride or die on my DJI v2 goggles when it comes to that system lately. The goggles 2 haven't come out of their bag in soooooo long at this point, lol.
Nice eval...walking the snail...loved that. I bought the HDZero goggles and vtx/camera...not sure it is my style. Do you have a video comparing the DJI 03 v Walk-Snail v HDZ gogs and vtx?
Thank you!!! I don't have a vid on that, although I do have one in my production list for it. I was waiting to get a realllllly good feel for the WS goggles before I jumped in on that one. I have a whole lot of time on everything else, but since this is the newest system to me I didn't want to do a full compare until I had my arms all the way around it. Hopefully sometime soon!

Very nice, can I use softserial instead of UART for the VTX? I have no UART left on my FC. I have F411-WTE, and been using its two UARTs for the ELRS and GPS connections. Thanks
You should absolutely be able to do that! You may get some delay in your OSD updates on it, and I have seen some occasions where the OSD freezes all together when running on soft serial, so you may also want to make sure your radio is set to have low voltage callouts just in case.
The specs say it's supposed to be 120 fps at 1080p, even though the goggles screes only do 100fps. I'm guessing they're going to try and overdrive the screens or something. Supposedly they are going to release a "game changing" firmware in the future from what I hear but we'll see 🤷🏻 love the content Fam! Keep it up. Cheers 🍻
We shall see for sure! I think they are already over driving to get to 100fps on them in the current iterations. From what I hear they are the same panels and drivers as are in the HDZ goggles and the HDZ team felt a little iffy about even over driving them to 100fps at 720p, so it will be interesting to see if they do get to a 120fps 1080p version without a major goggle hardware shift. I really appreciate you checking it out and sharing your thoughts on it man!!!
@@BaconNinjaFPV no prob brother. My fingers are crossed they do something amazing with this system cause as of RN I'm kinda all in with them having 16 of the V1 air units with the FS Dominators HD and their standalone VRX on SkyZone04X's. I originally was rooting for the underdog lol. Cheers
I like both the your reviews on V1 and now V2 - with negative reviews about I got a Walksnail Goggle off the S/H Market cheap and when I got the WS Goggle it was brand new, never unwrapped, I guess those WS Goggles in the S/H market place are about to dry up 😉. Your 3 inch HD build with WS looks real interesting, I found your Bacon's B3AST 3" Build video -- Is that one?

Hey at least you got a deal on like new goggles!!!! lol. For the 3" B3AST build, I am running a DJI O3 unit in it. You could absolutely do a full size WalkSnail setup in it though. It does come in a little on the heavy side, and as I have it built it is 248g without a battery on it, but you maybe able to trim that down a bit and fit it in the limit. It is fairly quiet, but does make a nice whistle sound with the itty bitty props, lol. Also suuuuper hard to find after crashing it since it is so small. I would recommend some really brightly colored TPU parts and props for extra visibility!

It takes a very special leash :p Yeah I can't get invested in any one thing it seems, lol...too much time spent switching to 3 pairs of goggles during the same flight session.

16:00 at the right side with Pro cam I see some stattering or some lower fps as on the left side with normal v2 cam, that is way smoother. Can you explane this, please?
I noticed it too..
I think that is just a rendering artifact, which is good news! It did not appear that way in the goggles :) There were a lot of mixed frame rates in this video, so I tried my best to smooth out what I could but that one looks like it just didn't get quite where I wanted it.

On a multirotor flying close to the goggle the new VTX might be a lot better but for other type of aircraft and long range the single antenna is a huge letdown and is a lot less flexible about where it can mount. I fly Heli and the center vertical carbon frame made walksnail the primary choice because of its dual antenna.
That is a great point! For quads the one antenna thing makes a lot more sense, but totally understandable that on other layouts you may want something with two antennas for more orientation tolerance.
WIsh they'd give us some different lens options!!!!!
(Wide angle distorts and makes objects appear far away. Planes with pan/tilt don't need wide angle.)
Lens options would be great!! I am sure there are some standard compatible ones, but there really should be a list somewhere. Maybe I will see what I can pick up and try them all out to show everyone what they do in combination with these v2 sensors!
@@BaconNinjaFPV I've looked for a 2.8 or 3.6 lens for my Walksnail Avatar Pro camera. No luck. The sensor is unusually big for a M12 camera and the lens needs to be IR blocked. Makes it very hard to find anything suitable. Next time I'll get an Avatar Micro V2 and hope its easier to find a replacement lens for it (that is less wide angle than the stock 2.1mm).

bacon Ninja, whats the Dia of the new antenna?
I just checked and it looks like it is 15mm wide. The bulb is also 14mm long and has a 1mm reducer at the bottom to the width of the straw.
