you should try running in the bearings. when you mount new motors and fire it at max rpm 30k+? without running in there is not distributed lubricant properly and you propably destroy bearing tracks because there are microscopic fabrication marks from factory. maybe only difference is that more expensive motors are runned in at factory :)

I did the exact same thing before I saw this video but I still out all four screw holes to avoid vibrations and I also used Tmotor 1103 11000kvand used the micro alien landing skids to protect the motor there wider than the frame but thought it was cool I wasn't the only one doing this would love to see what pid tune u settled with and give it a try love the micro content

How did you get video from the drone to the DJI fpv goggles? I can't seem to get video from my Firefly 1S Walksnail.

When I first thought of using Quest2 as FPV goggles, I only found similar setups via PC -> oculus streaming. But everybody was complaining about latency. I don't know if anything changed since my last attempts, but now I figured out that you can easily setup analog FPV setup using oculus without computer at all. You don't even need a capture card. There are cheap AV receivers with UVC output over USB. And you can plug it into oculus quest 2 directly. I was testing it today with a regular usb webcam. and it works great. Latency was ~100ms if I measure correctly. But it's hard to do with oculus. Tomorrow I'll get the mentioned receiver and will test it with the full analog fpv setup.

I am so glad I am trying the simulator first. I would have wrecked my first drone in the first flight. Within an hour I was able to fly around all the gates without crashing. Simulator is a must for a poor boy like me! Practicing while I'm saving up. Going to get a controller first that I can use with the simulator. Then building a cheap drone so I can learn how to fix it after crashing

Anyone have any idea why my PC wont connect to my transmitter over WiFi? It sees it, but when I enter the password my pc says, Cant connect to this device. I dont see anyone else having this problem anywhere

I have this problem, with this small exception, yours says it's factory settings, what gyro model do you have, mine says - locked, do you have any idea how to unlock it? it is definitely not damaged because it worked before uploading the new version.

wich motors are you using for this build?

I have an issue where my speedy b60 amp just accelerates and runs away from me. It'll try to hover at the 5.5% idle on arming but as soon as I tap the throttle it accelerates to 100 and does not come back. It will fly away till it crashes. Even if the throttle is 0% it won't stop claiming

First of all great video and thank you for it and you make it look easier than it is. I just bought my first freestyle quad a week ago. I don’t even have a dozen packs through it yet and I can kind of do a sloppy juicy about 30 feet off the ground, I can do a few other tricks, but what I’m getting at is I would love to see as you’re teaching the trick, show it in slow motion voice at like 25% frame rate. It would be so helpful because then you can actually see the sticks and the quad at the same time and see the exact inputs a lot more clearly because it just happens so fast on these. I appreciate all the effort you put into it so thank you!

Just set up my first FPV drone using this video and it's so much easier than some others I've seen. A lot of them flew through betaflight. like I knew what they were talking about hahahaha. I went with stock rates but think I'll try the ones you're on and see what it feels like. Thanks for making my life easier.

Just wanted to say that I just saw this video in Aug of 2024, It was very interesting and I have to say you made a good case for this frame, almost got me on the hook, I am almost sold the only holdout is the 250g baloney... I am a big fan of Skystars products, the cost is great and the performance seems to be perfectly good. I do like the fact that it is quieter than a 5" and that you can get around 10 min of cruising flight times and that you have crashed it hard with little to no damage. Your motors are good choices (I love the Hyperlite 2005.5 motors) and the 03 is still the best choice although Walksnail has some super cool products now. What is it about the Quadmulla frames that make them tougher? Higher grade of carbon or better epoxy, thicker arms, something else? Anyway great video, cheers!

if i unpack the downloaded map it just has the programmer in it? also it doesn't connect to the vtx if I try to update local/online.

That's interesting ! Although i'd love to see some blackbox comparison from the motors. If they fly the same, but have different building and components quality, maybe one is noisier than the other. I'd expect that loser bearing and building tolerances making the rattle in the velox would lead to more vibrations. Have you checked the quad's vibrations with both setups ?

yea my drone spins and shutdown like yours so .. my orientation is correct .. so I reflash and put on 4 blade prop and it flies fine now . Im surprising that my 1407 4022 Kv Hyperlite has discontinued so its bitch to find so I endup ordered 1 Emax 4100 kv 1408 and it flies fine cuz one of 1407 got fried smoke up. anyway yeah ur vid helps thanks

Great review. Pilot #2 here. Been using the V3 on my previous 4S build, and after losing the quad (to a stupid human error, not the ESC pop) now I have built a 6S 5-inch with the V4. Just had a couple of flights with it, and everything seems to be in good order. Cheers from India.
