Thanks for this! I’ve browsed OVA but thought that the more detailed technique stuff was expected or required. Seeing it in action makes me want to pick it up.
52:08 Rules as written you can use it whenever since you are "paying it out of your own pocket"(and regenerating that loss is not instantinous, like general endurance loss) and you can buy multiple dice(5 end each) and even after you rolled whatever you had to roll. The only thing is miracle(30 end), what the gm can refuse if it not fits. But yet again you bought it, its yours now, you play however you please
@@CRP-Waltteri indeed, but remains very elegant in how it works and by combining the same dice results, it is pretty math-wise Never looked at FATE much, will look into it a bit but I'm more of a ICRPG, EZD6, Pirate Borg and Electric Bastionland/Into the Odd kind of guy right now
08:04 Not exactly (here is an example) +3: 5 dice (chose the highest) +2: 4 dice (chose the highest) +1: 3 dice (chose the highest) 0: 2 dice (chose the highest) -1: 1 die (1die you get whatever you get) -2: 2 dice (chose the lowest) -3: 3 dice (chose the lowest) -4 :4 dice (chose the lowest)
So, if I roll 7 dice and take the lowest, the minimum possible is 2, while if I rolled just 3 and took the lowest, the minimum possible would be 1? Is that intentional?
I think even if you rolled 7 dice, the lowest result is still 1 (if you have negative modifiers and you pick the lowest result). Because you can have only 1 die come up as 1 so then you have to accept that result.
@@CRP-Waltteri Oh, yes, I just had a brain fart because it was early in the morning (my time) and I didn't really sleep. All the dice are independent, and you could just roll, for example, any amount of sixes and a one. System looks neat, and probably am going to pick it up! Thanks for the video.
Haha I'll get that all the time as well! I screwed up some rules even during the video when I played. But it can't be helped we are humans after all :)

You are welcome! I was positively surprised about this myself as well.

You have such an exciting way of telling your story!
Thank you so much 🫶. It sure helps when you yourself are excited about the story you are telling :D. That is the biggest creator of engagement!
Great session and very instructive on a system that I was very curious about!
Makes me wanna try the system in pretty much any setting
Yeah I was positively surprised by the flexibility the system has! Very much like FATE RPG, but with more gaming crunch!

@@juauke all of them very nice games! Well if you want to look into FATE I have done How it plays video from that one as well :)
@@CRP-Waltteri indeed 😊
Will look into it, thanks 😉

Yeah this is exactly the way I thought about it, but I might have worded it poorly. Thank you for writing it down!
I mean Clay was going for the ova vibe, BUT the abbreviation here is actually stands for:
O=open
V=versatile
A=Anime
Well it really can be seen from the system! I have just scratched the surface with this game and it seems really interesting!
but.......... what happens next session :(
The next session is called "How it plays: Mass combat" :)
Only one way to find out
