Great video! I have Lancer pre-ordered, I can't wait to get it! I'd add Twilight: 2000 to this list.

I'm about to start my own West Marches campaign and the system I will be running is ICRPG. I'm excited to see how that goes

ICRPG is a really solid choice for West marches! Good luck and have fun!

An excellent video, you and your shadow did a good job. I would suggest that Mutant Year Zero would make a good West Marches campaign setting. The PCs are all based in their Ark and have a whole zone to explore. The GM can list missions such as to go out and collect resources in the usual way and the players can each have a couple of mutants to choose from.

Haha thank you! I haven't read mutant year zero yet myself but I have heard good things about it.

It’s the original Year Zero game (obviously, considering its name) and IMHO is an excellent game to play solo if you fancy a change from fantasy. It’s a post apocalyptic sandbox adventure RPG that’s quick and easy to play. (-:

LANCER is an... interesting choice for a West Marches Sandbox. It certainly works with the lore and setting (boil down any scheduling things to paracausal nonsense), but mechanically, I feel like there may be a few caveats:
    1. LANCER does have substantial vertical progression; while not as bad as, say, Dungeons and Dragons, there is a flat modifier, and things do get generally better. It is also somewhat limited with options at low levels, so standardizing things around, say, LL6 (the midpoint) might be the way to go, but it does lose a bit of that "ease the beginners into it" approach.
    2. LANCER's combat resource structure is balanced around having multiple "sitreps" (encounters) per mission, each of which usually taking up a two-to-three hour session if you are dealing with an average-sized party. Notably, "repair cap" (what you use to repair parts and recover HP) is different depending on your specific frame, and players would have to show up to all sitreps in a given mission for it to be balanced against other mechs (SSC frames would be notably affected).
    3. A lot of the combat difficulty range in LANCER depends on team synergy; the different roles do significantly enhance each other's effectiveness, and weird team setups may take some adjusting on the fly to not make into a disaster.
So, it could work, but it would probably need slightly more effort and coordination than a normal West Marches campaign.

Great inside for the system thank you! Yeah I was thinking about more like instance based west marches game with lancer, even the License Levels could be attached into the missions as well and just give the possibility for the players to easily have multiple mechs and even greate a mech for every mission. But that would require quite a lot system mastery from all the players.
I do agree with you on that while it's definitely possible it is definitely not the easiest rulesystem to run WM in.

Great video! I discovered your channel while looking for Whitehack (your review from your big Tier List is on their website) and am motivated to try the 4E more than ever even in solo.
I received the digital version and am hesitating on getting the physical version at Lulu (together with Suldokar's Wake Core Omnibus + 5)
Otherwise, I'm doing a (not so sure it's West Marches) campaign with two groups who are in the same universe but my main (5+ sessions) is using EZD6, my secondary (1 session for now) is using Pirate Borg and I did a One-Shot with DCC in this universe.
I'm planning on adding an Into the Odd (flavored as Made in Abyss) group I will do at a convention next month.
PS: I'd love to try Crown and Skull and LotFP (with OSE: AF Bestiary and Treasure) too and implement the resulting episodes in my world

@@CRP-Waltteri they indeed are! My EZD6 group is very chaotic so most of the sessions were full improv!
I'm having great fun (as a fairly new GM) and I don't really know what they will do when I play!
