@@owainbennett663 agreed... the only way i can see the CT released in Australia is if a local Tesla approved swop shop is established. Please address this in the next video. I have watched almost all cyber truck video content, and have not seen this addressed.. Question: I saw that in the body in white . that the truck vents its cabin air through two 4 in.² vents underneath the rear window. Which means the back truck bed should be able to be heated cooled using cabin air. Suggestion : Use a remote thermostat and put it in the back of the truck close the cover, leaving a 2 inch gap opening . note the temperature after a temperature normalizes. Then turn cabin hair on heat or cool in biodefense mode.. or camping mode. wait five minutes and see if truck bed temperature changes. I believe that these events were intentionally facing the back of the vehicle to heat or cool the cyber tent. Which is a good idea because the rear window does not roll down.. This is a big deal as it can keep precious cargo in the back not just secured, but climate controlled(either you in a tent or your belongings in inclement weather).
Hello Patrick! Thank YOU for the channel's first Super thanks!!! This is a great idea! I hadn't heard about these vents! My whole family is sick right now, so it might be a couple of days before we get to this video, but we will definitely do it!
I just went out and checked, and there are no visible vents anywhere. It would be somehow behind the seats, but if you look in the bed of the truck it is just a flat plastic panel. My guess is those vents you saw in the body and white were actually the water drainage spots that we discussed in this video.
I think those were like pressure equalization. Not actual vents. Tesla has said in many forms that you cannot heat the vault from the cabin as it would be inefficient
What's the name of the color wrap you used? Looks good. Was wondering if that's close to a Halo color, the truck in the game. Almost looks like a station wagon.
thanks for the video, hope inside with a camera and a torch to see where it really comes from. I think it will be a problem when parked on the flat and the sitting water will run off the trailing edge.
I saw one the first week of december in chandler on lindsay and ocotillo. I have since than seen another one at sprout's by my house in chandler. I am surprised to see two in one month here.
^^^This. Way too much has been discussed about the truck attributes of the CT. What if it turns out to be the ultimate SUV for young families? Compare the 80k version to the Model X.
Can you rent a U-Haul car trailer. Put a car on it and do a video on mileage you get and performance. I can almost guarantee, this video alone would be your most viewed. The truck guys really want to know.
That’s good to see. It’s great that you are sharing your Cybertruck experience with us all. Thanks heaps for doing it. Can you show us some time how feasible it is to load the tray with tools or groceries at the very front of the tray? Or is the side too high for that? Because a toolbox would normally be placed at front of tray for surviving braking without sliding. Thanks guys, subscribed and really enjoying your vids.
Just went to the grocery store right after uploading this! 😁 I put them in the gear locker, worked very well! Putting them over the sides at the front of the bed works fine for me, just went out and checked, but a tool box would probably be difficult, hard to reach all the way to the bed from the side.
Not single press, its a deeper press for all the way open and closed. Kind of like how macbooks have a deeper click that looks up a word in the dictionary
@@OurCyberLife Thx. Curious. Is "deeper" normally a term used for depressing a button? I would think "harder" would be more common. WHAT would really have been great if you inserted a short clip where you wife was pressing and you were sort of explaining ... was that you showed in the on-screen user manual how Tesla describes that button to be used. That would have been *fantastic*. AS WELL, perhaps on X/Twitter/etc you could ask what others want to see from the manual and do a video on all them?!?!?
For all the people amazed by this, I have a simple vinyl role up tonneau cover that is 10+ years old on its second truck after the first truck was rear-ended so hard that the box dinted the cab and wrote off. It barely gets any water in it when going through the car wash. A little around the tailgate (most of it probably comes around the tailgate). This isn't impressive, its what should be expected.
@OurCyberLife I wouldn't say it's easier. It's just velcroed down to rails that are clamped to the bed rail. The cybertruck system is angled so water doesn't sit on it. Pretty simple to keep water tight actually. I'm more curious if it will still work in freezing Temps after it gets ice in it.
Hmmm... Looks like it's time to get in there and re-do it. Gotta know what was going on near the rear window. Can I not trust it in a car wash if I have some stuff in that corner?
It is probably waterproof according to this video and test. That was a little aggressive attempt to make it leak relative to nature, and it didn't leak much at all. Barely a little in the corners. I'd say that's waterproof for the most part. If you don't want any water to leak, wipe it off before you open it
Obviously the water inside the bed does not indicate leakage, a tesla would never leak or have panel gaps or any other issue. Tesla is love, Tesla is life.
There was a lot of water pooled up on the right hand side upper corner, and as it rolls down, the segments open up and might dump the water right at the end. So if you wipe it first before you open it, it might not leak like that.
You guys are awesome! Looks like it could go through a hurricane and still be bone dry inside. I saw the CT in person and my impression was it's a very tall vehicle and hard to reach up over the roof and above the tail gate especially when trying to clean it (cleaning mud after off-roading.) In your video however, it didn't seem like it was a stretch to reach up the roof and over the back bed with a hose. It could be that you have the suspension set at the lowest level.
It was able to protect me from rain, i was sitting in the bed waiting for fireworks, as soon as rain started I close the Tonneau cover :) i did not get any leakage as it was not heavy rain.
Traditional Chevy Silverado farm truck owner here, with a Cyber on order. That tonneau does very well! Also, folks worried about getting the bed & outlets wet seems a little odd. I will be pressure washing my Cyber bed to clean it etc. Also hauling an atv or cycle in a heavy rain storm will soak everything! Tesla has certainly safeguarded for the bed to be completely soaked! 😊
I’m curious… why the 30 day permit? I saw another review with the same type of tag in the vault on the back window. Is there an issue getting longer term insurance for these forest trucks?
@@OurCyberLife so Tesla gives you a 30 day tag and then you go get a longer term policy from someone else? Or do you have to jump through even more hoops in Texas specifically? Thx for the answer btw!
