Pierre, Je suis addict. Vous faites revivre John et Bert et votre connaissance encyclopédique de leur répertoire n'a d'égale que la beauté de vos interprétations! C'est un bonheur de voir que l'amour de leur musique qui m'accompagne depuis mon enfance est partagée. Merci!!
Fantastic !!!.....Always enjoy your covers of these great Pentangle, Jansch, & Renbourn songs, and this is also brilliant...I have tickets to see Jacqui McShee's Pentangle in July 2018, at the Lincoln Folk Festival here in England, she is still amazing even in her mid 70's age and I really can't wait to see her perform live...You should be also performing there !
I've been trying to learn this song ever since the Rosemary Lane album came out and I really struggle with those bends. Because you are having to fret a note on another string you have to use a lot of finger strength for the bend rather than doing it all with the wrist. At least that's the only way I've found to do it.
Thank you for this video. It is Amazing listening to your excellent playing - AND being able to sing whilst playing a Very difficult guitaring style... You, sir, have Exceptional talent & skill. I Salute you.
Absolutely brilliant! Where are you in France? Would love to hear you play in concert. I’m planning a drive through France when things are Somewhat improved and would go via your locale, doesn’t matter where! Renbourn and Jansch were my avatars as well. Not forgetting Davy Graham though, who’s influence was immense. Oh! And you’ll always get plonkers who have to put you down when you play so good! Their jealous
pierre lebras well that’s a coincidence, Marseille is where I’ll be going. Was planning to attend a reunion of friends at a place called Le Pescidue. Afraid it’s been cancelled this September but is on course for 2021 now. It is a resort that we hire for about 10 days. Music is much appreciated and there is a venue on site for performers. Would you be interested in doing a gig there? No definite date as yet but likely to be between 13-19th September 2021. I know it’s some way off but would really appreciate your attendance to play! There will be other musicians and I’m sure they would really love to hear you play! Such a shame this year cancelled but I still might make the journey there anyway. I’ll be in touch if I do! Stay safe and keep up the amazing playing.😲
Delicious playing. Are you using 10s? I think I'll scrap my 12s...that bending... And what chagrin that you're in France. I'd love to find a guitar partner like you here in California.
hi joe I use custom light gauge D addario strings 11/15/22/32/42/52 but change the B string to a 14 . this is for my old J 50 the one I use for most of my videos but sometimes I will use 11/14/22/30/40/50 depending on my dog's mood and the wine taste . I lived not very far from you back in the 70's flagstaff az was my home then . maybe you were not born at the time I don't know but I had a real good time when I lived there. If you provide shelter food and a couple of girl friends I'll gladly come to california for a few years . thank you for watching my videos. take care pierre
Merci!
I learned most of the songs I play long time ago during the 60's and the 70's and I did spend many many hours trying to figure them out but I guess lots of free time and a good ear helped me a lot.
@@fennarios hello and thank you for watching my videos. you read wrong . this song reynardine is played with just the low E string down to D as written in front of my name. no open tuning for this one. all the best pierre
@@fennarios This is 'single drop D', then there's 'double drop D', often used by Renbourn et all, and 'DADGAD', all different tunings. To complicate matters there is also open D (DADF#AD) and open G (DGDGBD).
I like your voice dude! It has that same no nonsense straightforward quality that Bert’s had. Bravo

Only one word for this: wonderful!
Had to come back for more Pierre. Wonderful.
Soixant dix sept!! Hardly surprising. Amazing rendition of the Bert Jansch classic
This is a joy to listen to.
And see.
Incredible. Thank you so much
Nailed it...!
Pierre. You are an inspiration. thank-you..
Absolutely great!
My absolute favourite Bert arrangement - well transcribed and beautifully performed. Bravo!
Outstanding! Looking forward to more!

Brilliant. Excellent rendition 👏
Love it!
Big bends! Awesome. Love it. A lovely Folk Tune about Mr Fox.
it helps (a bit) that he tuned down a half step , Db

@@MarkJVSomers I noticed that Bert often tuned down half a step and yes, it makes a difference.

Sounds fantastic;your touch is perfect and your tone is brilliant;serious question though:what happens if you break a nail?
I wait till it grows back usually 2 to 3 hours if I pray real hard

I do wish you would add the tuning used on each song.....something to strive for...
ok gibby I will from now on. this one has just the bass down to D
pierre lebras thank you! I love Jansch/Renbourn and you are the best cover I have heard....thank you very much!
gibby, I agree! i cover some of Bert's songs but I have to say, Pierre is a legend.

You must spend a large amount of time working these Jansch/Renbourn tunes out.. . They are fantastic....I don't have the patience...
