I’ve never embraced anyone, I didn’t know Jonathan gets so much colder in his dialogue and personality. I prefer him as an altruistic doctor.
Mary should be the arch villain of the game and a playable character, not wasted after a few short cutscenes. She has the talent to turn this game into a franchise if utilized correctly
that's not a bad idea
Wow, Jonathan behaves very differently in the cutscene if you don't kill this many people. Even Mary says some things I havent hear before. Damn, it goes very dark in this version! Not to mention it's the first time I see the mother die.
Hekate Bleble So cool how all this changes so much depending on your actions
sebastjan krek apart from mother not dying and being avalible like all npcs later, I'd say the entire dilogue. The tone is apologetic and sad, not angry and bitter. You still have to kill Mary though.
Hekate Bleble I always thought it would be really cool if there was some way she didn't die as a vamp and we kept her as an ally or companion or something
Or even better, we got to play as her holy shit XD so much wasted potential...
sebastjan krek "so much wasted potential" perfectly sums up the game. I still enjoyed it twice anyway :)
The soundtrack which plays during the fight is called Insane Family. Fitting name I'd say :)
xLetalis please, upload Jonathan's answer to certain unintentionally personal question the lady you rescue from a vampire in the sewers asks him! It's hillarious ;)
I'll try ;]
Mother is not dead.
How do you keep Mary from killing Johnathans mother?
They say the best arch enemies are those with deep connections to the protagonist. Well she has a shared history, sibling bond and deeply held grudge for turning her into a vampire and calling out to her mind. She is the Joker to Dr Reid’s Batman and they should bring her back as such if they ever make a sequel. Call her the vampire queen
Mary: I'm pure evil now for reasons! I'll destroy everything you love if you don't kill me!
Some of chat: Why did we have to kill Mary? She should be a main character!
Me: Wot?
The impulse is understandable - there's a lot of emotions attached to the character and they don't really fully resolve in her one scene. Like how Undertale fanfic exploded because people couldn't get their fill of that cast in the original game.
(As I've said elsewhere, it'd be a total betrayal of Mary's stated and expressed motivations for her to come back for any reason whatsoever; she's not the anti-Reid, she's "just" his sister and his first victim.)
Got "not even once" on my first play through. I was told it would be difficult without embracing the NPC's but it wasn't. Just do side quests, kill your enemies, cure people and learn hints. Get good at dodging and upgrade your apothecary (I think that's what it's called.) use a mace and sword, upgrade them fully and use the sword upgrades for blood stealing. Invest in health, stamina, the shadow ability for crowd control and the amount of blood attained from combat bites and make sure to grab the abyss ultimate. After that I'd say go for blood capacity and maybe extra healing through combat bites but keep your health and more importantly stamina in mind afterwards. Anything else is extra and is up to you. This is just how I played; in the end I only died maybe ten or so times with most of them being pure carelessness. None of them from bosses though. Also try to keep some syringes for health in case you find that you can't get close enough for more blood to heal with.
I like that Jonathan still has a soft spot for his mother, even if you made him kill... however many people you have to kill to get this scene, yet he’s still heartbroken by his mothers death
Amogus
I only embraced 5 people before this boss fight and I got this scene I’m not sure if charming nurse crane counts ( I didn’t know she would be an ill formed skal I thought she would only forget) I’m not sure 5 is so many and I was playing on hard mode when it is very hard not to embrace citizens
I thought there was only one form of the cutscene but i did go straight for the best ending without knowing anything
I wish they'd add some clothes for Reid, like the one from the first gameplay demo. But, apparently, it's never gonna happen.
This version of the boss is literally my favorite part of the game!
Hardest Bossfight in the entire game imo.
it could be
THE HARDEST BITCH INDEED!
This game will test how good you are!
You can kill him though! And it will revive your health and Your blood to maximum, and also giving you 2000XP
But you won’t got Achievement (Not even once!)
You still can leave him be, but you can’t save him since you you’re not the only vampire in the place , Mary will kill him to review her health ! She’s so difficult to beat!
My Question is?
How long can you maintain your humanity when the only way to Survive is to become a monster???
@@skeletonking4119 I killed her before she even we t near him but it wouldn't let him live either way
well i actually managed to beat her my first try : D
Actually I found her pretty easy
Damn I wish I had gotten this scene, I was planning on killing people anyway but I was "cultivating" them first so I hadn't killed anyone.....yet.
Brendan Gill lol. I have killed 3 civilians directly so far. Darius Petrius, Sean Hampton (which caused the district to be destroyed), and the feminist Paxton sister. Then I killed Dorothy Crane after she turned into a vampire from me erasing her mind, and Giselle Paxton after she turned into a vampire from the district plunging into chaos.
I had no idea she could die... My playthrough was a moderate Vampire... I only feasted on bad people
I did 3 playthroughs and yeah there are some variations!
@@xLetalis Damn.ñ.. chapeau to them .
Mary is one of the best boss fights I've ever fought, tbh.
God, Helena Bonham Carter needs to play Mary in an adaptation...
And as much as I adore this game, I feel Mary could have had so much potential to be the overarching villain rather than Harriet
The whole red queen thing was kind of a vague and weak antagonist in the first place...Mary’s fight was the most unique and she was a far stronger antagonist than her...and she literally just calms down and everything is normal again...what a let down...
I knew she would return.
yes u did
Hopefully she returns again. The best character in the game deserved more than she got. She's the Joker of this series man
I sure love the song that plays during Mary´s bossfight
me too
Oh fucking wow. If you go the evil route, it's such a different scene.
That's so cool actually
8:45 LOL
Lol i didn't know she kill her. Im saving all the npcs for the end, for my Genocide Ending. Im glad she didn't kill her in my playthrought cuz i going to do it myself BOIIIIIII 😈
How is she faster than him he was made a by a vampire made of blood and he made her so how is she faster than him he should be as fast or faster and be able to go farther than her it just doesn’t make sense
Okay but can anyone please explain to me how the hell Mary even turned into an Ekon? It's been stressed multiple times throughout the game that you can only become an Ekon if you drink the blood of one, so how did Jonathan drinking HER blood (not the other way around) transform her? I'm so confused 😭
@Ellie: Jonathan did kiss her lips at the very end. It is also explained in the game how she became a vampire and Jonathan even states had he known that such a thing was possible he never would've done it. It is most likely that when he kissed her, some of his blood went inside of her, which is the reason for the transformation.
There is also a document later in the game that says while biting someone and being turned is rare, the transformation can still occur.
@@Nilinthil Ah I see, I just thought it didn't make sense cause he didn't have his own blood in his mouth, only hers? But thanks for explaining!
It is also a possibility that the transformation occurred because he embraced her soon after when he saw what he had done, and he put her head on his shoulder - with blood still there, after the bite.
It is explained shortly after the fight how she was turned, but it doesn't make a lot of sense, as you stated, lol
@@Nilinthil nerd
@Louie le King: Nerd isn't something bad :D
I've been skipping cut scenes on my evil playthrough and as soon as I noticed his mom died I realized the cut scene changed. I wonder how much altered cut scenes did I miss from that point?
I'm actually more shoked that Jonathan is so different in this playthrough. So cold, so full of anger, so harsh. Just... Amazing
Who does the voice for Mary? Sounds familiar but can't find info anywhere
Nelson Templar She’s immensely talented. The Mary scenes are a joy to watch. I like how the amusement and dark humor just pours off of her in waves.
I didn't realise there was one way without killing the mother, came as a complete shock to me that you can actually save her 😂
Reverse for me: I didn't know the mother could die, except Embraced by Jonathan.
i would love to see this as a tv show
Her tone sounds different, but with the same dialogue
Now here's my question
I know Mary is just a little pissed off that Johnathon bit and turned her
But why is she SO hellbent into killing him?
There's had to be so much more than just turning her into a vamp, maybe I wasn't paying much attention but there has to be more than what she's leading on
Like, she shows somewhat of a sympathy for Dorothy and Sean, but has no shame in killing her own mother?
Is it all just to stop the voices in her head?
Or is it just to prove a point that they're monsters?
CBear624 I think it’s a combination between she ultimately just wanted Johnathan to kill her so she had to make herself as much of an enemy to him as possible or she just wanted revenge
CBear624 she think become a vampire is curse! 😎
Because of the Blood of Hate, I guess.
I think Jonathan unconsciously mentally calls out to her, remember that Lady Ashbury explains that only the most powerful immortals/vampire elders can do such a thing, which implies that he would eventually become a very powerful vampire himself in the coming centuries
mary story is so sad husband died baby died brother died then back to kill her what a sad character.
I’d think it would’ve been better if the evil/good routes should’ve had different dialogue after the fight.
Reid should’ve killed her without any hesitation instead of saying “I won’t play that game”
I play this part and Mary didn't kill jonathan's mother.. what's make it different? the confession?
it's the choices you make, if you did the "good" choices, she'll not kill the mother
I had her!!!! My game glitched. Now, I got to start all over again.... Hope nobody else was the same problem. :( :( :(
:( I didn't
@@xLetalis you got really lucky, lol.... I am glad that you got her. You made it look really easy. I can't wait to beat her butt :)
@@bunnylove240 I think it wasn't as easy as it looks in the edited video ;]
@@xLetalis I know... You did a really good job.
My cutscene is freezed on the part that jonathan take her sister on the arms, what should i do?
hmm, have you tried reinstalling?
@@xLetalis i already passed, thanks
I thought that too lol
is there a way to save the mother if so then do you know how
she doesn't kill her if you don't kill people i think
zscraft1 yeah you're right about that
H.S.P Krom-van Rijn I didn't kill citizens at all, mother was safe, even met her after fighting the sister in West-End
do good things ;]
xLetalis but a vampire should be drinking blood
what gun are you using here?
gosh I don't remember ;[
@@xLetalis darn, well do you remember why you had 28,000 blood exp saved up without using it to level? As long as you cure each person as they get sick, it isn't as though everyone goes dying overnight when you spend a night to level up...
Why am I having difficulty when I am level 18
Upgrade bite damage and stun weapon and bite her to death.
@@cipher5893 its way easier to use a sharp weapon and a wooden stake, also it's great to have abyss as an ability which can obliterate whomever it targets.
@@w.a.r.ydruid5643 i gotta get this game again. Fun as hell
@@cipher5893 agreed but try to get the least bad ending you can get and then kill people on a different save on normal difficulty
So sad to kill the sister man ;-;
This game looks awesome, except for the doctor's nose
Sergio Lourenço funny enough, I really like his nose ;)
I don't kind the nose ;]
Hekate Bleble but it's so big...
xLetalis his nose alone requieres all of my cpu power
Sergio Lourenço lmao :D . But the nose suits him, besides he'd be annoyingly perfect without it, methinks.
Is there any possible way to save the Priest??
I don't know of any
@@xLetalis You have to do 400 damage to her in the very beginning of the fight and he will survive before she can drain him.
1st
Stupid looking game :/ boring
