Excellent video, thanks. I love that tracing-to-learn tip! I will surely use it. Yes, I'd like to practice textures. And can't we see more of the cat that approved this channel? I love cats and am always happy to see the resident cats.
Long time watcher, first time commenting. You have been my go to since beginning to tackle watercolor 5 years ago in my 70's. My primary takeaway from this video was using a tracing as a guide for my own drawing vs. transferring. Very helpful. You also asked if anyone would be interested in a video on TEXTURE. That was really exciting to me and I would definitely appreciate it. Thank you.
Loved your collection of drawing tips! Esp. drawing for 5 min. every day! I plan to take my small sketchbook with me to dr. offices and make use of the 35 min. wait!!
I would love a video on texture techniques, Michele. Thank you so much for all you do that is unpaid benefit to us as members. Your paid courses are absolutely wonderful as you are an excellent teacher!
Used to draw with pencils all the time. A source of great pleasure and relaxation all on its own. Hardly ever do it in these days of computerised everything and UA-cam entertainment. Same with reading fiction. As much as modern tech makes life easier, it also seems to make it emptier. Miss the old days.
I find I read on holiday, trying to put my phone aside and read before bed. Stephen King currently because scaring myself witless is just the thing before sleep :-)
Thank you for your wonderful video on Tips, I would like to know more about the grid paper when you make your video I would love to see that. Thank You for the video here on tips.
I watched this video a few weeks ago and put tip 16 into practice (drawing with no expectation). I bought a fountain pen a few months ago and have really enjoyed using it for this practice exercise. I have not missed a day of practice in the last two weeks. I am starting to see results after just 14 days. Thank you Michele for this wonderful tip.
Really good video tutorial Michelle. I thought the in depth explanation on tip 17 was specifically good. Many thanks for your effort in producing theses videos , very much appreciated.👋👍
My embossing tools are awesome! They are metal on one end and silicone on the other that I can use for masking fluid. One of my best investments. Thank you for another great video.
I've noticed that the more I trace pictures to paint in watercolour the more my drawing ability has suffered. Thanks so much for this great video. (I have the same Bastet cat figurine behind you).
CONGRATULATIONS girl.150K subscribers! So well deserved and hard worked for 😊 This is another great tutorial Michele thank you. I'd love to see one on texture, please 😊
…and thanks to you, Michele. I have been following you for a couple of years and have learned a bunch and been reminded of techniques I seem to often forget. Please keep up the great work
I've always been able to draw fairly well, but your reminder to practice, use proper paper and especially the embossing tool tip has been very helpful to me. Thank you for your time with these lovely videos!
This was a wonderful video filled with great tips for drawing Michele! Yes, I would love 💕 for you to do a longer video on doing some drawing textures & different types of grid systems. Thanks for sharing this wonderful information with us!!
What excellent, excellent tips Michele, thank you so much for doing this. I really learned about Tip 15 on my own last year when I was trying to draw mushrooms. I simply love all your tips and especially your Tip 16! lol love your mug. I can see too that drawing like that every day would help you to see better as well. I am getting better with Tip 17, but I'm still working on it - lol!! There is much that you mentioned that I just learned last week as ah ha moments. It is surprisingly hard to find really brilliant teaching on certain subjects and yes, eventually, one can learn these things, but it is so much easier to learn from a great teacher. Thank you so much Michele for being a great teacher and providing us with so much.
I did make that video, I am not allowed to put links here but the title is: Drawing Realistic Textures In Pencil (4 EASY Tutorials!) pop it in the search bar with my name and you will find it.
I am new to your page and would love to know more about the grid for drawing instead of tracing. I want to draw my own pictures for my watercolor painting. Right now I follow tutorials and get the outline but would love to draw my own! Thank you
Hi , Love your videos. You are brilliant and the way of your teaching tips and drawing is very helpful . Thank you for your amazing videos i really appreciate it.❤
Love the tips and advice will definitely check out the drawing course. I really struggle with mid tones can’t seen to draw a gray scale yet. I assume it is all about pressure and I seem to just forget that simple step during the creative process. The watercolor painting of the statute is exceptional!
Would you please have a session on drawing different textures. Thank you. A minor observation, the teacup that you drew in this video seemed kind of sad about not having any tea in it.
Layout BEFORE detail - it's like a little roadmap, great tip! My favorites are tips 16 and 17 though - I CAN draw much better than I did last year because I spend at least 2 minutes a day making marks on my paper - it doesn't matter what it is!
@@kerbear829 I get mine from online art suppliers in the UK so not sure about dollar prices. Honestly I usually use the Daler Rowney Firm Putty but it was out of stock so I order W&N and it's very similar. They come in different sizes too so watch for that. I would do a price comparison with online art shops before paying that amount.
I did home childcare for 32 years. To add to your good theory about not saying I can’t. If a child is walking, carrying a cup of something, you don’t say “don’t spill it. “. You say “you’re doing a good job.”

A video on texture and drawing sounds like a very helpful idea 👍
Those three words - excellent advice.

Tracing is useful but just like spell check it can lead to a reduction in skills! Thanks for watching :-)
So many amazing tips, thank you so much for sharing☺☺☺

Thank you.
Great advice as usual!
Glad it was helpful!
Looking forward to seeing your video about the grid system.
Coming soon, a comparison video of different methods. I already have a video about the grid technique 🙂

Thank You! I drew my coffee mug with a pen. Lots to learn and observe.
Sounds great!
@@IntheStudiowithMicheleWebbernot exactly great but I tried. 😅
I am definitely learning to draw/paint. The number of times I have chopped off the top of a head!!! Your last comment is invaluable!
Grid method video, yes please!
If you just want the basic grid method take a look in my Drawing Tips playlist :-)
I loved the tip on self talk. I need to work on this!!
This video is so very helpful!! Basic and sensible. Some things I never heard or thought about. Thank you!!

Envelope technique! Wow. Trying that
Hope you like it!
New video, woohoo!!

Amazing as always. I hope you are both safe.
All good here thank you!
Drawing with colored pencils is great, I already drew a deer to the best of my ability with my mom. :)
Well done :-)
I would be interested in a video on more accurate transfers. Btw, love your earrings!
Thank you! Video is scheduled for a few weeks time 🙏
Hi ,
Love your videos. You are brilliant and the way of your teaching tips and drawing is very helpful . Thank you for your amazing videos i really appreciate it.❤
You are very welcome 🙂
Great tutorial. Regarding the embossing tool. How does it work with watercolours? Is it employed before or after the paint is down?
You can do either way. Into wet sometimes is a little more effective. It will make dark lines as it attracts the pigment.
@@IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber Thank you
I’d love to see your grid instructions
I linked a grid video in community posts a few days ago, but will be making a new video comparing methods soon too.
Love these tips!!
Thank you!!

Thank you! Paper and pencil make a difference too as well as pressure :-)
Would you please have a session on drawing different textures. Thank you. A minor observation, the teacup that you drew in this video seemed kind of sad about not having any tea in it.
An empty tea cup is never happy ;-)
Tip 17 is todays mantra

Excellent!
Oh yes, oh yes, do one on grid papers and other transfers
do you use the WN med. kneaded putty rubber when sketching your watercolor paintings???
Yes I do!
Is it worth $10 on Amazon?? It’s about 10xs higher than other kneaded putty tubers. ??? Sorry to bug u.

UK is not Europe?
Continent of Europe yes. European Union, no. We left, I did not want to leave, but nevertheless... Brexit.
