Dang, the engine still clean... thankfully only the rod was the major damage!

You got lucky broski slap a new rod in her and let her eat some more :). My advice is to start making your own fuel. This way you know what oil package you are feeding your engine not to mention its cheaper too. Torco sells nitro and methanol for oil Motul has an oil but I use an ester based oil from Redline thats amazing and for the castor portion ..if I run it I use the Blendzall Green castor . I have ran 40%/7% pure ester oil in a super cheap modded Alpha which are known to have soft cranks and after 1.5 gallons it passed the crank pin specs with flying colors to my surprise while running a GT pipeset pulling crazy rpm on the golf course trying to blow it up but nope she took the abuse , the Redline Alcohol Oil is the truth anddddd im 95% sure that is the oil that TNR fuels uses, anywho, I can share my formulas with the nitro fam if requested. I make it all by weight not by volume which is the correct way in my eyes.

Thanks for sharing. Never had that issue but maybe a softrod flexing.

Sorry for the loss, but that was super cool that you caught it on camera. I would measure it out find a similar length rod and send it

High compression engines need lots of lubrication being a touch on the lean side can cause this to happen and the more times the engine is run a touch lean it heats up the metal and before you know it boom. Running hot glow plugs all the time also adds to the stress. Low oil content can also add to the stress. If you are doing all 3 of those things it's just a matter of time until something let's go
