"SCV good to go, sir!" "You wanna piece of me, boy?" "FIRE IT UP!" "Alright, BRING IT ON!" "Ready to roll out!" "Goliath online!" "Battlecruiser operational."
That was my favorite SC1 track. I used to play terrans only to hear it. The strong point of SC1 ost is you never get tired of it even if its the 8000th time your listen to it... Great work SR!
*I PRAISE YOU FOR PORTING OVER MY 90'S CHILD HOOD PC MUSIC INTO THE GEMS* YOU HIT ALL OF MY RIFFS AND THAT IT GOT ALL OF THE TRANSITIONS PUTTING ME IN AWE.
Starcraft's OST is like reliving late elementary/early middle school years for me. For some reason this little mix up of this track gave me back the childlike wonder I had first playing this series. Thanks for this mix, it rocks!
Oh my god YES The Terran music from SC is some of the best music of all time! And this is SO GOOD! Thank you for this =w= God, when the second section of the song hits 👌
Whoaaaaa, what a great song to cover. I could seriously go for a whole battle theme remixing from you, Terran, Zerg, and 'Toss 1 2 and 3. These songs still get play with me and my friends to this day.
GEMS itself wasn't really the problem, but rather that most devs who used GEMS saved time and money by just sticking to the default instruments included WITH GEMS. He's only made one thing using default GEMS instruments... and it was done as a gag - an April's Fools stunt. And even then it doesn't sound bad (mostly because it's a Sonic track LOL).
Yes , actually this is GEMS , The Comix Zone style is clear here , I freaking love it so much , Heck there are a lot of amazing games that uses GEMS and they sound out of this world , But yeah when done amateurishly it sounds like garbage like , Chakam , God that game sounds like shit .
Wow 😮 , Holy Molly ! , Those comix zone riffs are freaking unreal !! 😳 , Damn !! , Well fucking done gecko , GEMS sounds like wonders at the hands of a expert like you fella , I just love Comix Zone style so much , Bravo ! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻👌🏻.
Kudos to the channel as well as to the brilliant and technically excellent chiptunes. I would suggest a Yamaha YM2612 cover of "Jagtitle", the title music (Amiga Protracker mod) of the arcade-style racing game Jaguar XJ220 (Core Design, 1992). Considering that this MOD features slap bass as the protagonist, I would be really curious to check the sound performance with the original "slapbass" sound samples replaced by Yamaha YM2612 FM slapbass patches. Not infrequently, in fact, the slapbass is appreciated in the Mega Drive chiptunes.
Somehow it reminds me more of the originals than people who recreate in a DAW. I would just slap bitcrush distortion on the track and proudly declare to myself that I captured the 90s energy authentically, but this is better I think
YM2612+SN76489. It was always strange to me how Sega stuck with the SN76489 even though the whole OPN line had an AY-3-8910 (YM2148) on the same chip except for the YM2612 (YM2610 in NeoGeo, and YM2203 in arcades).
Great remix Savage from a big Starcraft fan. I personally think that your version here sounds better than the original. From 0:00 to 1:00 sounds okay due to FM's difficulty to recreate those kinds of guitars. However, from 1:00 onward is fire! I dare any of you reading to go to the Terran 3 videos on UA-cam and compare to Savage's. The original is very lo-fi in sound quality, despite the developers given a chance to use reverb and midi instruments. Savage's version is clearer and he had to create his own FM instruments and program those PSGs. Nostalgia plays tricks, I thought the original would sound clearer due to my memory of playing Starcraft. I checked it out, and now I would rather have Savage's version in the game. Keep up the good work, I think Starcraft and Red Alert 2 had the best music ever out of any RTS games.
Wrong. The original redbook audio has excellent sounding samples and quality, there is nothing "lo-fi" about it. You must have either god awful hearing or the shittest headphones in history. You have mistaken the original samples as low quality due to their blending together in a rich soundscape (a wall of synths). Being able to quickly resolve individual samples within a piece FM music does not mean it is a superior piece of music. There is a time and place for everything. This cover is most definitely not "better", it's entirely different. The original is an exceptional piece of music and this cover stands on its own as a great piece of work. Both have insurmountable value to armchair nerds.
@@citizenhal Does DT770 sound like "shitty" headphones to you? What a stupid comment. Original recording is great, but usually the software can play it at a lower resolution than the original red book files.
"This is Jimmy!"
But in all seriousness, that is simply amazing.
Right on.
Flame on.
The goat has returned to bless us. Love the Comix Zone influence with those Acoustic Guitars SR. Hope you are well man
Hey look, a king commenting on another king's video.

That drop at 3:03 is mind-meltingly good. Seriously, gonna need to re-assemble my skull after listening to that one at max volume. Bravo!
Finally, I've been waiting for someone to do some SC1 remixes for a while. Would love to hear Terran 2 done like this too.
The soundtrack is pretty much impossible to cover without sounding inferior. It's like the holy grail of music remixes.
0:59 hell yeah
That was my favorite SC1 track. I used to play terrans only to hear it. The strong point of SC1 ost is you never get tired of it even if its the 8000th time your listen to it... Great work SR!
True that man. Testament to how timeless it is. A rarity.
I agree with this entire thread so far except my favorite was Terran 1. By a small margin though.
Ooooh Yes!
Terran 2 is mine, this comes in a close 2nd and then Terran 1. Hope he does Terran 2
Unless it's Terran 4. I don't like that one that much
Sounds like something Jimmy would listen to in his vulture
Another track out of this world on the YM2612 & PSG, what a level of mastery.
I can imagine just how awesome Terran1 would be on an YM2612.
*I PRAISE YOU FOR PORTING OVER MY 90'S CHILD HOOD PC MUSIC INTO THE GEMS* YOU HIT ALL OF MY RIFFS AND THAT IT GOT ALL OF THE TRANSITIONS PUTTING ME IN AWE.
I love that I can appreciate amazing MD music that I missed as well as the ones I loved on this channel. Thank you Savaged Regime! ❤
I like how the wave wobbles with the pitch bend
Another godlike cover. The grittiness really suits the Terran feel. Without context you'd almost think this was the version that was made first.
I never played SC. I'm afraid to listen to the original now.
SLAMMIN'. For real, this is great.
The sheer rush of excitement I got just from seeing the video title in my subscription timeline
takes me back
This gives me major Animusic vibes, for some reason.
I could imagine now easily Dune 2-style demake of Starcraft for Sega Genesis.
Thanks, King. Sounds terrific, dat bitchin bass slaps hard.

Oh, *YES!*
Terran 3 is amazing no matter the style...
When you know its gonna be so rad just by looking at the title. Absolutely kickass track. Love it
Well done Turner
This here is my absolute jam. That bass, the tasteful thickness of it. Just beautiful.
I could listen to this all day long
"GO GO GO!"
This is fire
2:12 - Why I'm here.
I never imagined a 16-bit/sega version of Starcraft music, it is incredible. And when it kicks in at 3:00 !!!
Amazing cover! If you close your eyes you can almost see a Starcraft demake for mega drive in the style of Dune
Oh my god YES

YOOOOOOOOOOOO STARCRAFT 1 MUSIC?!
i swear everytime you upload something its like youre reading my deepest desires, thank you

I'll take a guess and say this wasn't made with GEMS? ...Awesome cover, as always!

Deflemask. Most of us use that for Genesis stuff nowadays.

I didn't even have to listen first. Instant like from me. Love the old Starcraft terran themes. Hope to hear the other two remixed as well!
Excellent work Regime. 👍
Hope to see more remixes.
Very well done indeed.
You are a master with the YM2612!
I enjoy this.

I know it's beyond ironic-cliche to talk about nostalgia, but By God's Hooks you've done something incredible here

Oh man you gotta do the other terran themes
This sounds close to the original, I never expected that would be possible.
Sounds great on real hardware too!
I've never clicked the like button so fast
I want more, do the other terran themes!
Possibly do a Gauntlet cover (although may prove to be a challenge) ((Sakimoto's sound driver is/was amazing))
Ah, yes, the best song from StarCraft 1.
