This one was so fun to cover - I used to play the heck out of StarCraft back in the day and the soundtrack is one of the all time greats! I'm doing TERRAN TWO as well for next week as another favorite from the OST - After that I'm moving down the list to some other stuff that I hope people will enjoy :) If you enjoy this track, please leave a like and subscribe as it really helps the channel out! Holy cow, this gave me shivers and goosebumps from the nostalgia! The whole soundtrack for SC was so unique and atmospheric, and this captures the energy of it absolutely perfectly. You nailed it!
This is an incredible arrangement and rendition of such a great and iconic theme! The mixing is incredible, too - fantastic work! Definitely will be looking forward to more of your works - instant fan right here :)
@@PontusHultgren You are a genius! The amount of details and the sound quality is amazing! PS: I have been in Sweden 2 times this year. I love it there
@@RalleRoedelt Happy to hear it! I only went to München once for a weekend, and it unfortunately rained the entire time, but I hope to visit there and other places in Germany too at some point
Waiting for this masterpiece to be used as a soundtrack in StarCraft movie... If we would ever be lucky enough to get one. Holy cow, that would be amazing!
The fact we are getting 40k universe shows and movies and StarCraft isn’t even getting a 3rd game (not that I’d want the wreck that is blazzard now to make one) yet. I never would have guessed. A star craft movie done right would go hard.
"Terran Theme 1" is without hyperbole one of the most important pieces of music to which I've ever listened. I was 12 years old when Starcraft was first released in 1998, and before then all the music I listened to as a dumb kid was loud, noisy, brash, and poppy, whether on the radio or in gaming - in contrast to Starcraft, I remember singing (yelling) along to the soundtrack for the Saturn version of Command & Conquer, which is definitely a lot more bombastic. Then, when I bought Starcraft on a new school chum's recommendation, this was... strange. At first I hated it - this wasn't how music was supposed to sound! - but then, it clicked. The gentle strumming of the guitar was... interesting! The delicate plucking held you onto the next beat, and as you rocked on your log by the campfire you floated away with the ambience. It is the first piece of music that I can remember as teaching me that there was more to music than what was hot on the Key 103 FM chart countdown - Terran Theme 1 expanded my taste. I have to be honest and say that I was a little doubtful about a full orchestral arrangement - the dull, blunted digital grumbles in the original which would have been played around "verses" (for want of a better term, sorry I don't have much composition vocabulary!) like 0:35 are part of its subdued lo-fi character, lost when you deploy a full symphony - but your addition of violins actually works really well for reinforcing the essential core of that campfire sway and sense of drifting off into the heavens. Keep up the good work.
This is a great rendition, but if I had a nitpick I wish the chord progressions were a little more textured. This song has kind of a dopey cadence in certain parts, and having the chords focus on the roots and fifths makes it feel like the orchestra is playing power chords. I suspect that’s how the original was, since the rhythm was on electric guitar, but the distortion on the guitar worked to fill it out. Orchestras have to actually play the harmonic sounds that distorted guitar generates naturally if they want the same harmonic texture. Nitpicking aside, this seriously slaps and I only really thought of that stuff after listening multiple times
Very good cover. Thx. Each tume i ear or play some star craft, i'm very sad we don't have 2 damn trilogy lord of the ring like. Could be the best sf movie ever (with mass effect). Better than star wars.
As a man who listened to this song literally thousand of time during gameplay, I kinda annoyed how you changed the intro-outro guitar melody. It's not that hard to play really. Middle part arrangement is epic though.

heroinism
I don’t know how many covers of this I’ve heard over the years but holy heck does this stand out from the pack. Amazing rendition!
It’s created by the original composers of the soundtrack. If you search for Glenn Stafford, you can find it on Spotify as a single.
If there is a Starcraft movie, this should be in the soundtrack!
man... sc movie would be AMAZING
Most of the Terran One covers I've seen weren't that good, but this is amazing! Truly a masterpiece.
Great job, love this one. 0:35 gives me some incredible Nightwish vibes.
I used to work in a record store a lifetime ago, and I had a customer who insisted they were called "Nightfish"
@@PontusHultgrenI mean, they do have that one song, the Fishmaster

Probably the best cover of this song I've ever heard.

Impressive Indeed.
Makes me want to play some Starcraft again.
I miss when Blizzard was a good company...
i just recently started playing starcraft again and now this masterpiece from you 😍
So I'm thinking, would it not be cool to have Terran theme cover in the style/instruments of Warcraft 2 ?

In the game the theme should switch to this after creating a Science Vessel
Why?
Damn are those vst or real audio recording’s? Nice
Que maravilla !!!!!
This is fucking awesome! Please do Protoss 3! Pleaaaaase!
This gives me an odd vibe. Like... what if the Starcraft soundtrack was in Warcraft 2 or something.
I like it. Its different.
Perfectiom

I thought it was a mix of terran theme 1 + metallica one.
Can you take requests?
lol chorus reminds me of the monday night football theme from the 90s
