The casting for Queen Charlotte was impeccable! Especially with Charlotte and Lady Danbury. They looked so much like their present day characters. Oh Brimsley too.
The scene where brimsley and reynolds were dancing 🤚🏼. I started sobbing from that point on until the end of the show... and then for about 2 hours after 🙂. This show emotionally RUINED me.
I'm watching this entire video of Brad essentially telling me what happens in a series that I've not only watched, a series I've watched multiple times through countless reaction 😂😂😂
Yes brad!!! One step closer to getting a reaction on bridgerton season 3. I've been waiting for that and queen charlotte for ages!!! Hope you loved it! ❤
re-experiencing the show through this ep was very fun! you re-capped things like you’re ki-ki’ing with a friend and held my attention the whole time. it kind of made me want to rewatch lol x
Your question about the 15 children not having kids yet, they did have kids there was just no LEGITEMENT heir. The siblings had children with their mistresses and people who were not of noble decent so they couldn’t become the next king/queen but there were still a lot of pregnancies.
Also, the way i understood the women not having children despite really trying, was that they were showing the low fertility in the royal family, as a consequence of obviously inbreeding, along with all the other health issues they are prone to have because of this..
@@julietablanco5182 I didn't interpret it this way, perhaps because I have read up about the real Queen Charlotte and King George III. The show is depiciting the real life succession crisis that happened because most of the royal children didnt fulfil their duty in getting married to good matches and produce heirs. The fate of the monarch was resting on one person, Princes Charlotte of Wales, who died young in child birth, leaving no heirs and a succession crisis. In real life at this time of Princes Charlotte of Wales' death, of Queen Charlotte and King George's daughters, only their eldest daughter was married so was the only female child who could legitimately provide an heir but she was early 40's and thus struggled to conceive or carry a pregnancy to term (miscarried). Of the sons only a small number of the older ones were married and those who were married didn't enjoy spending time with their wives, but rather their mistresses instead who they conceived children with. So there were no heirs (legitimate children). Really it was a mistake on Charlotte and George's part to not push/arrange more marriages for their children (especailly when the daughters were younger so could still bare children) rather than have the fate of the monarchy resting on one person (Princess Charlotte, daughter of George, their eldest child) who died young, in child birth 😢 Apparently they focused on having prince George married and produce a child because he was the heir but didn't really try with any of the others, and kept their daughters at home and didn't want them to marry 🤷♀️ Similarly, it was also partly Prince George's fault because he only had one child with his wife then refused to sleep with his wife anymore because he didn't like her. He had many more children with mistresses though. It was his duty to have more heirs in case something happened to Charlotte. But he didn't because he didn't want to keep being intimate with his wife. By the time Charlotte died at age 21 his wife was too old to bare children. And divorce wasn't a thing back then. You were married for life so Prince George couldn't have any more legitimate children.
Have I watched Queen Charlotte multiple times? Yes. Will i watch every second of a 2 hour recap by Brad? Absolutely. This show was so good and I love your thoughts on it!!!
I appreciate this video! I first watched your Red, White, and Royal Blue review....and as a huge fan of Queen Charlotte show and I guess UA-cam recommended this.
1:05:44 I always thought it was crazy that brimsley never even eluded to something being wrong with the king (OTHER than stating he saw him with the doctor) to Charlotte especially considering he was her right hand man. I understand that he works for the kings family, and therefore the loyalty is there, but his job is to now accompany the queen at all times. Surely, especially with how Charlottes mental state was not to mention strategic mind state, she could have kept it to herself if Brimsley told her anything about the king’s mental state and in turn would’ve treated his situation differently from jump. And maybe don’t tell her prior to the marriage but definitely tell her immediately afterwards because she needed to know regardless. She comes off cold and heartless, almost savage and dead inside, but every time she’s got a scene individually with a character she has compassion, and it’s an interesting parallel to King George and Just George.
So it’s almost 2am but I’m halfway through! 🤣 I’m absolutely loving this sort of content, your in depth opinions is fab to hear, I love your edits and have said a bunch of times I love patreon for all your thoughts and your edits for your “inside thoughts” this is like both all in one, I really am enjoying this 🦋
hey gal, just wanted to say about the pregnancies you might have forgot or didnt pick up... while there were many difficulties having kids back then... the main problem was her sons weren't fiddy faddlin diddly daddlein with their wives... but with other women... probably because they were all forced into marrying people they didnt know... so they did have some accidental pregnancies... but none of the them were from a legitimate married couple... and because those kids were illegitimate they couldnt inherit the crown... wiki says there was atleast 17 illegitimate kids probably was more tho...
1:27:35 I FANCY HIM TOO!! Lord Ledger is intelligent and self-assured but not in a way that's overbearing or cocky. He's patient and gentle, he's an intellectual match for Lady Danbury and he has no interest in diminishing or dominating her!
an amazing show...so well done. Soo well written, acted...everything, It gave us everything we wanted and more. I still couldn't believe it was cory's ( king george) first onscreen lead role, because he was soooooo good. I hope he goes far in this industry, because he is absolutely a fantastic actor. Again, i don't know what they feed these english actors, but my god. soo good!
To late babes…we’ve already been down this beautifully traumatic road.😭 (sigh) Might actually watch it again today.😂🫣 I’m a glutton for punishment.🤷🏾♀️
It’s very interesting seeing your perspective. I went into the series as a bit of a history buff so I knew from the start why George was acting the way he was (refusing to be with her etc), so it’s interesting to hear how someone who didn’t know all that reacted. You were on Charlotte’s side and angry on her behalf, which is probably what the writers wanted, whereas I was 100% sympathetic towards George from the beginning because I knew what was going on with him.
Queen Charlotte low-key slays (also random note but Brad came into the shop I work at yesterday (tk maxx) and I fr was like shell shocked he was on the till next to the one I was serving on and I just stared and him and didn’t say anything I promise I’m not a weirdo I was just shook)
I loved it! What I don't understand is why she turned into such a mean and selfish women in Bridgeton. I know she was given to the king against her will, but she ends up genuinely falling in love with him. Even in Bridgeton, she clearly still loves him. She could've had him killed or left for dead somewhere but she still takes care of him. So I don't understand why she's so mean and stuff in Bridgeton. Like, what changed? Maybe it's because of the power she sniffs👀💀
I watched all the season cause my sister wanted me too and it’s a way for us to bond while rebuilding our relationship and I have to say I really didn’t care for the bridgerton stories the second season is ok but the first and third season I really didn’t care for so though queen charlotte story would be the same but when I tell you I fell in love with their story so much I can’t deal kinda wish it was longer
You have the wrong idea my love. Charlotte had married off her sons after the events of season 1 and 2. Therefore, the marriage season supersedes the events of Queen Charlotte. The marriage mart was started for and by wealthy and elites to maintain power
This is really for me? I've seen scenes and trailers, and I don't think I can watch it. There are sad and there are cries, but this seems to be depressing, heartbreaking, and traumatizing. I don't mind sad when the ending is happy, but apparently I've also seen the ending scenes and it's still sad (I know it's probably supposed to be bittersweet, but I'm just at that age where I just want a happy cheerful ending).
Corey and India’s chemistry will be studied by future generations
It's so sad that it was ruined by the fans. I really hope that they're still as close and just act distant on camera.
They are such good actors
“You did not go over the wall” broke me into a thousand pieces 😭😭😭

What I find amazing is that all the song that have been played throughout this season are songs by women of color 🥰
The Queen mentioned that there were a lot of illegitimate babies. So yes her children had children but they couldn't be heirs to the throne
