    I’ve already got a Behringer 2600.
    After watching and listening to (all of) this, I was SO inspired, I immediately went out and purchased an SQ1.
    Congratulations on the best deployment of the 2600 I’ve heard on UA-cam thus far.

    You certainly got a new subscriber here!! For those in the know it's not exactly easy to create such a piece like you played on the fly! Beautiful performance! It's inspired me to break out some licks on my behringer crave and edge along with some digital delay, loop/Reverb/ drum machine and play my fretless bass along with some catchy creations that hopefully come my way!! Keep the jams comin you have talent my friend!!!

      Thanks for the sub! Nathan! Yes a great goal to find that 'flow state' where you can literally keep creating cool music endlessly, you should have some good times on your synths and fx, and takes talent to play fretless bass too!

    I am interested to know how you change the note pitches on the fly with the SQ1.
    I cannot see how this can be done as the pitch is set hit and miss with the knob above the button?
    Very good video and thank you.

    • @GaryHayes
      @GaryHayes  3 місяці тому

      Thanks Peter - the pitch changes are exactly that, twisting the knob very precisely or crudely ... it is quantized of course to a minor scale and the rotation can be controlled even more by reducing the voltage range (all in the sq1 settings) ... I usually use it in Gminor mode to get a non harmonic minor.

      Thanks for getting back Gary.
      I have watched a few videos about Producing Berlin Schule and from what I gather I need three maybe four synths.
      I have two BARPS 2600s to provide the two voices and the bed.
      I have a Volka Kick to provide beats.
      I do not have a bass synth yet but I will need one with a sequencer. ( Well I have a Subharmonicon and a Lyra8 so basses on them would be powerful but hit and miss.)
      I was pondering on the El Capistan tape echo but the Korg NTS 1 is half the size and price.
      I need to go easy on size now.
      Does it have a good tape echo for Berlin schule do you think please?

    Hi please can I ask, is there a way to directly connect the Korg nts-1 to the 2600 or does there need to be a slightly more complicated connecting method. I’m saving for a B2600 and an NTS-1

    • @GaryHayes
      @GaryHayes  Рік тому +1

      Hi Rick - I generally use the NTS1 as a multi effects unit in rigs like this. But it can receive midi in for its internal oscillator as well ... the B2600 doesnt send midi of course so you would be limited to clock either way from NTS1 to B2600 vs notes ... although it appears to send midi out, it doesn't actually include the arpeggiated notes. Your best bet is simply to get a budget sequencer like the SQ1 or similar to send to both units - an SQ1 can send two separate midi channels one to each unit ...

    • @rickhopkinson
      @rickhopkinson Рік тому

      @@GaryHayes ok thank you for your reply and good detailed info… can the NTS-1 be directly used with the 2600 for only it’s effects? If so would you have to route the stereo pair master output from the 2600 and use a cable that puts the 1/4” stereo pair jacks into a single 1/8” stereo Jack at the other end to go into the audio input of the NTS-1?

    • @GaryHayes
      @GaryHayes  Рік тому +1

      @@rickhopkinson There is a L and R output on top of the behringer so you can use a normal lr cable. Also I often feed a different osc into each of the LR outputs (along with the main mono mix) to create a stereo sound from the b2600

    One q - it is possible to control each vco independantly, correct? So Icould have 3 seqencers and produce 3 different melodies. The rest is mutual of course, but 3 independant seqs for each vco is doable, rt?

    • @GaryHayes
      @GaryHayes  2 роки тому +1

      Cheers thm - yes you can send external CVs to each VCO independently BUT and it is a big one, you have to do some big workarounds to get them to gate independently (filter and/or adsr), in otherwords they are all triggered using the same gate, but still investigating that as the 2600 does have two envelopes - here I am using two separate channels from the SQ1 and I often use two SQ1s in these types of 'low budget' jams to generate 4 separate sequences if I wanted.

      Salut Christophe. Comme vous le savez, modulaire signifie que les patchs changent chaque piste, donc le patch ici est différent du dernier. J'inclus des "notes de mise à jour" dans mes morceaux précédents, ce qui donne une idée de ce qui se passe - mais y a-t-il quelque chose que vous voulez savoir spécifiquement, car la plupart de ce patch simple est séquencé à partir de Bloom ou d'un séquenceur aléatoire allant à deux synthés ? La zone la plus complexe est ma section supérieure droite patchée en permanence, qui envoie le master stéréo via le retard, le granulateur, le looper stéréo et la réverbération en tant que modules séparés
