- It's been a bit but I'm but with a nice medium lengthed ambient session with a very simple yet effective setup.
Korg SQ-1 and Korg NTS-1.
These two can just go for days! I really enjoyed watching things unfold before me. being able to midi sync with just a standard aux cable is mindblowing. I think this setup would lend well to travelling. I may take it on an upcoming camping/glamping trip and try and get some nice outdoor footage. I wish the SQ-1 had better battery life to not rely on a USB battery but it's not the end of the world.

Thank you! I think these two just go hand in hand. Like you can hold one in one hand, and the other in... well anyway, they just make so much sense together. If sq-1 had better battery life it would be the ultimate portable setup for ambient, but it still probably is close to being that. but, putting them in a case with two USB batteries would make that easy.

Can you tall me speed possibilities of sq 1?…from 40?…or 20?…can you make it slower?
@@andropolonsky sure! it goes from 40-240bpm. I think the sq-64 is on sale still? it looks so much more powerful, so if you are considering, it might be worth it. sq-1 definitely has a nice old-school vibe and approach and is just simple and immediate, not too big of a footprint. but it's not great with batteries, so I always use a USB power source for it.

Just ordered the SEQ-1 and can't wait to use it with the NTS-1....but am I hearing two synths here? There's a bass and separate high lead. How are you accomplishing that?

I think it's a mix of the low and high notes of the one synth plus the shimmer reverb. but yeah, it sounds really deep for such a tiny device!

Hello! I was using the “riser” stock reverb effect on nts-1
beim sq1 hatte ich auch erst überlegt aber dann den beatstep geholt. coller chillsound.
Thank you! I really liked the beatstep, but eventually sold it. It definitely has an advantage over sq-1 with the nice pads.
