A whole new way of having fun and not harming anyone... a rat rod or a nice shiny all fixed up old car is just the same... people spending time doing something creative and learning mechanics, welding, electronics... its a win win. If the big three was to come out with a line of older model trucks and cars, not their whole fleet but a model that they know others will also buy... with modern engines and stuff to make safe and sound, people would take to them like hotcakes.
This would have been cool , to have seen in person . I am not much into rat rods , but some of them are done very nicely
Great Video and awesome Rat Rods! This is how you spare the classics from the scrap heap and give them a new life again! Gotta love 'em! From the comments, some people just don't appreciate true works of art and what it takes to build one. 👍

Been building 'Rat Rods' since the late 70s, back when You couldn't Give them away!
Now, it costs an arm and a leg or so just for some Decent buildable. Pieces!!

I want a Rat Rod top chopped off. I have a few clean classic cars hardtops, and convertibles, but I want something like this that moves fast and looks battered...nothing to worry about if it gets a new dent or dirty. Props to all you Rat Rod heads

there are all sweet, more of a rat roder myself, was doing it in the early 90s before it was cool, all ways said all show and no go, paint overrated and over price, love the as found look ,I am in Pennsylvania had a break thought winter was over well it's back but one day closer. first show ed and Dave's in canfield Ohio

I think these patina paint jobs would look better with satin clear. The Shiney rust/patina just looks "wrong."

Where are the traditional hot rods. Anything with an LS in it I ignore. The same with post 63 SBC's.
Its preference. Alot of the older engine stuff is hard to find, expensive, makes no power, and is less reliable than the newer stuff.

@@tonymorse7178 Depends on your idea of "safe". Especially an open top T-Bucket style hot rod. It won't tip over like a bike. ...but I can't make it a whole lot safer other than that.

To each his own, but am finding lately many so called rat rods out there are heaps of trashy junk sitting on the ground badly slapped together with no pride or imagination put into them. You have to go by a pile of crap before you come across any decent ones.
These mother fuckers are buying these. People aint doing shit for themselves. Its a fucking shame. People roll up to a show and have never put anything except money into it. Its like what happened to burning man

In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime (BABVVO=Bundesabgasbespassungsverbotsverordnung)!!

I use to love all these old cars but now that the age of electric vehicles is here, 100 years late, Internal combustion vehicles no longer mean anything except money in scrapmetal.
All these cars and trucks would be great if they were converted to electric, Tthey would also be faster and cheeper tp run.
