I spent more than I wanted and I don't even feel like I bought anyone anything that was that nice. Times have changed. Going to try to plan better for next year and start making gifts a little throughout the year so I'm prepared for way less money. 👍
Talk to everyone you buy for and agree to stop buying presents for each other, Suggest instead that everyone donate what they can afford to their favourite charity. This way you know that your donation is going to good causes.I am certain everyone will be relieved and find this more manageable.
I like to bake Christmas bread wreaths & stars. Put them in a fancy cake box, tie w/string, and there you have an inexpensive yet appreciated gift that will be used by all.
I have Christmas in December, then 3 birthdays in January. Here is what I do that keeps me out of debt. You can start this too. Every February I calculate my Christmas and birthday budget. I divide it by the number of paychecks I have until November, 20. Then I pay that amount like a bill into a locked Christmas account I opened at my local credit union. No debt, and they pay interest on the account. Started doing it years ago, it makes Christmas and birthdays much less stressful.
I love the way you communicate, it’s honestly refreshing and makes me feel like I’m listening to a true friend. Thanks for being you and not being afraid to be weird 😅💜
This was a very difficult year for us financially, so we didn’t overspend at Christmas. But we are recovering financially so this is a helpful video for me! Thank you
Every year I say this is the year I Christmas shop all year ,,find something that I know someone will love. Get it put away and then the shopping won’t be so bad for last minute stuff.. I have yet to do this and kick myself for it each year!! So maybe this will be the year for me .! #GOALS 🤞
I tend to buy early for budgeting reasons (and getting nice things) and what helps me is having a very clear mental list of who I'm buying for and also, I don't start looking until around September. Year long is too much pressure. Just wanted to encourage you because it's really nice to get to December and have most of the shopping done. ❤
Totally agree I start buying in September as my daughters birthday is December 30th and I want to be able to buy good presents for both events@@virklad7
@carriesessum2505 maybe try making a list in your notes or similar in your phone of who you buy for a maybe a few ideas or categories that spring to mind for each person. This might help you have more structure for when you are out shopping
Dental bills, vehicle repairs and 30% less income due to unpaid sick days. December was a bad month financially not because of Christmas 😢 thankfully we were able to stay under budget and use some of our Christmas money towards bills. 🥴
Thank you for the great advice! Your hair is fantastic, how did you create that style?! It's giving Phoebe Buffay vibes from season one of Friends. Just beautiful. 💕
My husband and I are going to do a no spend January. Also we are going to actually do a Christmas budget next year, cause this year we didn't have one and over spent a lot. We also decided not to buy Valentines presents this year and do a date night at home instead.
Since we've decided to live across the country from most of our family (closest is in Oklahoma - we're Kentucky) So its only Christmas cards or emails to most (my mom & brother may get a gift card included)- so for hubby & I, we've decided to enjoy experiences instead of big gifts (we still do stockings for fun) - a trip, special dinner out, taking a tour,.... is what we consider our gifts to each other.
We bank at a credit union that has a Club savings account that earns interest. Each month beginning January, we put a certain amount in it and that is what is used for Christmas.
Fall through Dec was rough... had 2 major plumbing/heating issues happen and during -20 weather. So that was incredibly expensive. 4 times there was issues with the car. Dental... thank God for insurance because it could have been worse. And 2 of the 4 kids birthdays. I'm worn out and ready to get back on track.
I went over budget but not really Christmas! I went over because I helped daughter and her husband because he has seasonal jobs! He tried another job and didn’t work! Thankfully he was just offered a year round job that seems promising! Hard for young families right now! We can help! I would rather help than have $ for myself!
Christmas always feel like a car crash to me LOL regardless of how much I want to spend, the costs of the gifts I want to give will be higher than what I budgeted for. I guess I need to be realistic with my numbers so I won't get sucker punched when Christmas comes around 😂
Budgeting and looking at finances has always caused so much anxiety for me... I just stop spending at a point.. I know that's not the right way to do it and I'd love to get to the root of why it is such a scary thing for me...
I’m putting away Christmas stuff… it always takes me 10 days to decorate the house (busy with the kiddies) and 2-3 days to put everything away… still can’t figure out why… 😵💫
I’ve LOVED your videos and feel as though you have changed my motherhood for the better, but you really recommend that we can get out of the hole by playing solitaire? I feel like you are losing some integrity.
Angie, you could have also advertised your sponsor by talking about just spending money on that rather than going shopping or spending $100 in two hours to go out to eat…
Please do an updated stay at home mom video AgOG for the win 🎉♥️🫶🏻 love your content it’s definitely changed my life with some Jesus in the mix. @angela.braniff

You have such a positive and resourceful perspective! I love your idea - you can do it!

Great point. BEING NON EMOTIONAL. You can get a lot more done by not feeling guiltily. Guilt weights you down.
I love the way you communicate, it’s honestly refreshing and makes me feel like I’m listening to a true friend. Thanks for being you and not being afraid to be weird 😅💜
Yes, if you have more ways to make money as a homeschooling mama I would love another video on that (especially if you have more to add to the list).
like my Grammie used to say, what's done is done. what are you going to do differently. good video. Love it.
This was a very difficult year for us financially, so we didn’t overspend at Christmas. But we are recovering financially so this is a helpful video for me! Thank you
I shop all year long the clearance & sale items. Being on Social security it's the only way I can do it.

Thanks so much for telling me about the golden mole I had no idea

Yay I’m early! Didn’t overspend on Christmas but really want to focus on getting out of debt and budgeting in 2024 🎉
Thanks for your tips! I would love to hear more legit ways to earn money from home! ❤

Love you Angela! 💗

My husband is the same way. He doesn't not want to create a budget but constantly complains that I overspend.
A lot of people have limiting beliefs around money. It can be from childhood experiences with money too
I’m putting away Christmas stuff… it always takes me 10 days to decorate the house (busy with the kiddies) and 2-3 days to put everything away… still can’t figure out why… 😵💫
Thank you
If I pay with card it feels that I didnt spent, so I pay cash out of my envelopes.

We did pretty good until we decided to try to pay off 2 credit cards instead of just 1.. ooops..

I thought I was the only one that likes solitaire🫢
Nope! I do too, used to pay out all the time in my computer
