You have beautiful porcelain skin so own it! I am Filipina raised in US and both my mom and grandmother avoided sun at all costs (like most native Asian women) wearing hats, umbrellas. They told me that in Asia , fair skinned wonen were viewed as upper class because they didn’t need to “labor” outdoors. Growing up, they lectured me against laying out in sun with my Caucasion girlfriends.
In the US , tan skin is viewed as one who has time to leisure in the sun. Completed opposite cultural POV. To this day, both mom and grandma have the most beautiful wrinkle free, spot free skin. Learn from your elders😊
I'm from Eritrea (East Africa) and we have the same thoughts regarding protecting one self from the sun. Everyone uses umbrellas to shield from the sun. It's the norm to do that
And in South Asia dark skin is frowned upon thanks to the British colonizers and the caste system. My mother never wore sunscreen growing up but she used umbrellas and she has great skin
Avoiding sun to incredible lengths is like a mental disorder and you need some for your body to function properly.

In my country, we had the highest age-standardised melanoma incidence rate, and the equal sixth highest mortality rate of melanoma in the world.
You’ve never lost someone due to skin cancer, so take your entitlement elsewhere.
So I’m 32 years old and I haven’t worn sunscreen on my face since I was probably about nine… I know it’s a horrible sin but I can say that this is the first summer that I started wearing sunscreen on my face every day because of your channel. So though I don’t live in the sun I must say thank you and I’m sure my future skin is going to thank you.

Vacation looks good on you!! I love your dress!! I too wear a HUGE hat at the beach. I know people think it looks goofy but my face has thanked me for it and I have you to thank for helping me realize how important it is. I always thought sunscreen was enough but the hat and protective clothing is the full package and needed. I've even gotten ny boyfriend wearing a sun hat and protective shirt!!
How about a video on the biggest scams in the skin industry that you see. So much information being thrown our way with regards to tools and treatments its hard to know which are valid and which are just cash grabs and won't really do anything for us except drain our wallets.
oh such a good idea, seen many ppl do these but would love shereenes deep dive take on these! especially tools and such treatments etc.
When I am on holiday, especially if is a beach vacation, I go super minimal. Cleanse, moisturiser, spf and drop all actives. Skin is happy!

- Nails/nail health video. I keep meaning to ask my derm about this, but for the last couple of years the nail on my big toe has been splitting as it grows and I don't know why or how to address them besides clipping them and using an Eucerin cream with Urea on my feet.
- Hair questions:
1. How often should you wash your hair?
2. What do you think about those scalp massagers from Wet Brush and others? Do they have real benefits or are they a scam? On that note, what about those physical scalp exfoliants?
3. How harmful are Keratin treatments for hair?
4. Long hair health tips?
5. Best products from a hair health perspective?
6. Products to avoid?
- What to check for/verify (certifications or otherwise) when finding a legit place for electrolysis/laser removal / how to avoid scams or other harmful things with them
- Probably just a clip question: Is it advisable to get Voluma under the eyes and tear trough fillers together?

Best thing ever for me (we live in the desert) are long sleeve sun protection shirts. Keeps me cooler in hot weather as well as protecting my arms and chest.

Yes! I too brought a bag o'sunscreen on our recent lake trip. A spray, a sport lotion, a different sport lotion, two different face spfs, and a quicker dry spray for my kids who will run away almost before it dries. Oh and high SPF lip balm. And a large brimmed hat with a neck cover. I also applied SPF 3 times on the car drive up which was 10 hours. I definitely did not burn or even tan. 😄 At nights I washed my face with micellar water and then my gentle cleanser and slept in Dr Eddie's Happy Cappy ezcema cream. When we got home I was so tired but my skin looked amazeballs.
I love this! I went to the river two weeks ago and did the same. But I was not as diligent with reapplication or putting the sunscreen on my lower legs and forearms. I burned in those places and I'm just now starting to peel. My arm is a purplish color, it's awful. Its worth being diligent! My face, chest and upper arms are good though! I used a high waterproof SPF and it kept me well protected on our river float.

100% recommend a rash jacket to anyone thinking about solo travel. I'm too embarrassed to ask a stranger to put sunscreen on my back and I got horribly sunburnt on my back as result. I used to surf, so a rash jacket is pretty normal to me, and I've never been burnt on my back or arms while wearing one.

We are going to Costa Rica in December. In reading up on what to do while there, travelers are told to bring their own sunblock as it can be quite expensive there. I plan on self-tanning when I get home!

First thing I always packed is a couple of Off mosquito sprays. I don't go on vacation without them. Then Sunscreen. 😂I love everything you brought with you. Enjoy your family vacation!

I had the same mosquito hell in Mexico years ago. 30 plus bites just on one arm... but they were all over my body - really ruined the start of my trip b/c I had no desire to go in the ocean with all those bites burning and itching... live and learn :)

My daughter has beautiful pale skin. It’s nice and even toned. I, on the other hand, have old sun damage and my skin is 400 different colors. I wish I knew then what I know now.

I do not do well in the heat either. And I have always been very careful about not getting too much sun, which my friends used to tease me about a little. But now at age 57 I have very little sun damage. It is well worth protecting your skin from en early age.

I went to Key West for 4 days over the 4th of July weekend. I arrived looking as pale as Snow White, and I left liking as pale as Snow White. To the point one of my students actually didn’t believe that I went to Key West at all! 😂

I appreciate any ideas or tips for applying sunscreen to small children! On school days, I only have the opportunity to apply sunscreen to them in the morning (there is no way they or their teachers will reapply it during the day) so I would love any ideas for making it last as long as possible. Their playground is not shaded!
I know two kids who had to go to the hospital for burns after using spray on sunscreen (and both of their moms were very diligent applying and reapplying the product). My boyfriend also got burned badly using it. They all used different brands, though, but none were effective. Just thought I’d share because I wouldn’t use it unless it was to top off or refresh after thoroughly applying a cream or lotion to begin with. Hope this is helpful.
I’ve used spray sunscreen for years and it’s worked great for me and my family but everyone is different! You have to find the best method for you.

I went to French Polynesia and I brought a sunscreen bag with similar variety of sunscreens for different purposes
For the Color Wow to really work it's anti-frizz magic, you need to apply heat and pull the hair straight! :)
Also, Boots is the name of the retailer (eg CVS). The cream is their own brand of anti-inflammatory cream.

Absolutely love your hair! The Color Wow product you use, however, says it is activated by blow-dryer heat which you said you don't use while on holiday. Are you using a different Color Wow product than the one listed in your description? I love your curls so much and would like to find a product that might help my curls to look like yours (lol)!

THANK YOU. I am extremely pale. Almost no foundations are a match for me. 20 minutes in the sun will make me pink. I have had sun poisoning and sunburns that were 2nd degree burns. I was always made fun of for being so white… jr high nickname was Casper (the ghost!). I can’t imagine telling a dark person that they’re too dark and need to do something about it. But people have no problem telling you that you’re too pale and need to get a tan. 😡 I have my revenge now, though…I’m 50 and no one believes it. People have thought I was 35 and don’t believe it when I tell them I’m 50. I WIN!
@@miltoncat Actually, people do tell dark skinned people to do something. I come from a colorist culture and have been told to bleach my skin many times.
And don't shame dark skinned people either. There are indeed people who destroy their skin and health trying to bleach their skin with products from China that has harmful/straight up toxic ingredients (i.e mercury).
@@bloopla872 this!! everyone is pressured to be beige on both sides and darker skinned people have been shamed and pressured for faar longer with socioeconomic implications
