Ohh my God! He smoked in a Chevrolet SS. Definitely went sideways over there.
Those cars are so underrated
So now it’s true dualed since that resonator acted as an H-pipe to balance the exhaust pulses. Sounds really good in true dual form with those factory mufflers still in place. Nice work, EA team!

True duals have a much more unrefined sound compared to a crossover pipe. Then if you take the cats off it gets even raspier.

Superb...! Quiet idle and loud enough when you hit it. It's very hard to do better than that...!
Only 1 way to go on a SS, supercharged and full straight piped, i get to hear that daily from a work neighbor's built 14' SS LSA SC with Texas Speed Stage 1 Cam, LTHs, hi-flows and str8 piped from the cats. It sounds INCREDIBLE!!!

Worst sounding 6.0L+ ever and only pushing 104 sound decibels is pretty pathetic when you guys have had Acuras with half of the litre sized V-6s that sounds better than this pushing around 102 sound decibels!
Why didn't the guy double x-pipe it to at least try to give it somewhat of a chance at having a character?
Probably because the guy who has the car doesn’t want it to be stupid loud. Factory mufflers even with the rest of the exhaust customized will sound like crap. They are in no way made to shape the sound like aftermarket mufflers do. These are strictly to shut the car up regardless of headers or removing the resonator or even the cats. I for one love loud unrestricted Gen 3/4 small blocks but this guy probably didn’t. If it was up to me I would do everything to that exhaust loud and unrestricted all the way

That could very well be the case with the owner.
However, I've been around for more than sixty years and to see a ride traditionally wear the SS badge, I mean I've not ever heard of an SS whether it be on a Camaro, a Chevelle, an Impala or the old Malibu/Laguna sound so disappointingly dismal.
You could be right in that he might live in an area where he has a bunch of Kareninas for neighbors in which case, like you said, why even bother to spend the coin for what is going on up to this point?
@@RenKnight347 I’m with you there if it wears the badge let it be known that it has the power and the sound. That poor LS3 can’t be heard which sucks but the guy might just not want the sound which is dumb. 376ci should be heard
If the temp tag is correct, the owner lives in Md. That will have to do emissions testing every couple of years.
If the emissions tech sees an X Pipe or can audibly tell the mufflers have been changed or altered, they will fail the car with out testing it.
The owner will have to go back to OEM parts and have a full inspection done before it would be allowed to be tested again.
Just depends on how lucky the test site is. Some sites are more thorough than others.
Not everything is about how loud it is bud😂
