Getting one of these appointments is the most frustrating experience I ever had with an immigration office. It takes forever. As my first time in Germany entering with a Schengen visa, for my semester abroad. I was not prepared for how hard it is to get the permit. It took me a while successfully registered my address and get a bank account as my appointments for those get delayed back. Then I have to get an insurance and a block account which by the time I did I only had about 6 weeks left so I apply for an appointment through the online portal which gave me no response for 3 weeks and then submit a paper appointment request and nothing came of it yet. This appointment thing is too much of a road block combine with all the other stuff u have to prepare and appointments u have to make every for every step of the way make it feels like marathon. This german appointment thing make everything too annoyingly slow. I just probably gonna have to leave and finish my classes online but this is one of the worst immigration system ever. I heard a lot about how effective and efficient Germans are before I came, well now I know how BS that is. Doing all the appointment by post takes along as time why cant u just show appointment availability slots online and have people select and apply for it. I just don’t understand
Hi, thanks for sharing your experience here and so sorry to hear that it has been such a challenge. I know that German administration can be quite a headache at times.. that's exactly why I started this channel.
Thank you very much for this very helpful information. I live in Nuremberg and my current residence permit is about to expire and haven’t got any appointment from the although I have applied online many days before 😢

Hello Jana, thank you for the information. I have submitted my documents forbvisa extension almost 5 weeks ago and i haven't heard anything from the authorities. Would you have any advice for a situation when the visa has expired?
Hi Yana, do you know how it works if you change the city you live in? My boyfriend from Venezuela came to Berlin with a working visa for 90 days that was supposed to be extended here as he has an unlimited working contract. Now we want to move to Bremen and he still doesn't have an appointment to extend it. Do you know if he can go to the Ausländerbehörde in Bremen? Also if he wants to change the job? As his current visa will expire I doubt that he will be able to get the Wohnungsanmeldung in Bremen, but Berlin is simply impossible. It's all a mess and we don´t know what to do. Help, please...
Hi, sorry to hear about the confusion. As per my experience, immigration related matters are handled by the authority in the city you are registered in. So if you move to Bremen and manage register there somehow, he should hopefully be able to apply through the immigration authorities there. Without a registration in Bremen I don't think they can handle the case. In that case, I would suggest to try and send an email to LEA in Berlin. You can learn more about this here: ua-cam.com/video/5MXwKoB-4QU/v-deo.html. Hope this helps!
Hello, I'm having exactly this same issue, do I have to apply a fresh for the work permit in the new city or I'll just extend in the new place? I got the work permit in my home country but upon arrival my employer took me to a different city. Do I start the entire process again or I'll just extend the visa? I look foward to your response. Thank you
Hi Hello Germany, Thank you for the wonderful work that you do. I would like to let you know that I'm on a JobSeeker Visa and it expires on March 6th 2023 and I have got a job offer with MoneyGram in Frankfurt as a Sales Operations Analyst. The Bundesagentur für Arbeit has not yet started its analysis on my job. My query Is if I get an appointment at the Bundesagentur für Arbeit After 6th March,2023 will I be able to stay in Germany or should I take initiative now to extend the JobSeeker Visa considering that I have a valid Job offer. Please do advise me on this
Hi Manoj, have you scheduled an appointment with the local foreigners authority yet? They could probably issue you a fictional certificate to extend your current visa until your documents have been reviewed.
Thank you for the video. My passport is expiring this April and already have applied for a renewal of the passport and might take a while to receive the new one, my permanent resident card is also expiring at the same time. What should I do to continue getting SGB 2 while waiting for my passport to renew my resident permit?
Hi, I am just wondering what happened if my visa expired and i have gotten any appointment yet. I am Philippine Citizen holding a Temporary Resident Visa from Croatia but already got my Anmedung here in Germany as well I am married to a Bulgarian Citizen who live and own a businesses in Berlin. Hallo Jana, Thank you for the insightful video, it was very helpful. My employer has terminated my contract after me having obtained the residence permit (EU Blaue Karte) last month. In the meantime, I have managed to secure a job offer from another employer and the joining date on the contract is stated as 1st of February 2023. I have heard that the residence permit (EU Blaue Karte) needs to be backed by an employment contract and since now I have been terminated, I have only 3 months to secure another fulltime job offer. I wanted to know that can I request my local Auslanderbehorde to extend this period so that I can start working with my new employer from February 2023?
Hi Raheel, I'm glad to hear that you managed to get a new job offer right away. Yes, I would suggest to get in touch with your local Ausländerbehörde and provide them with proof of your new offer. Let us know if they extended your permit in the meantime!

Hallo Jana, Thank you so much for the insightful video. You just got a new subscriber. Currently i am living in Essen and facing the same problem. I have one more question, what happen to my work ? do i have to leave the work or i can continue ? Thank you
Thanks, really appreciate it :-) If your previous residence permit was issued for your current job, then you can usually continue working until you got your appointment. But try to make sure that you get a confirmation for a fictional certificate in the meantime. Let me know how it worked out for you!
Hi Alexey, sorry to hear about this. May I know what kind of residence title you applied for? We had a few cases in Munich that got sorted in 8 to 10 weeks but I think these were mostly EU Blue Card applicants.

Looking forward your kind answer. Thanks

Hi I am in Hamburg, Germany, After getting a job offer I want to apply for a Work Permit. My Queries 1. Are Work Permits and EU Blue Cards different? 2. If Yes, Can I apply for a Work Permit (for 2 years) and then after 2 years apply for EU Blue Card (4 years)? 3. EU Blue Card is for 4 years, after 4 years Can I extend EU Blue Card because on the Hamburg official website, Extension of EU Blue Card is not mentioned? Thanks in advance Best Regards Vedant Kulkarni
Hi Vedant, thanks for your questions. This video may answer your question on the difference between work permits and the EU Blue Card: ua-cam.com/video/dEcBDmUPR1U/v-deo.html
Regarding your other two questions: You can for example change from a skilled workers permit to an EU Blue Card if you fulfill the requirements for an EU Blue Card. This is also the case for extensions on an existing EU Blue Card. Hope this helps!
Hello everyone , anyone happen to have the email address to Munich foreign office. I had submitted my application and need to follow up with them as my student visa is going to expire soon .

Hi, this is subject to decision by the German authorities but in general it's possible to apply for a new visa after and the expiry of your previous Blue Card should not be a reason for rejection.. hope this helps

3. EU Blue Card is for 4 years, after 4 years Can I extend EU Blue Card because on the Hamburg official website, Extension of EU Blue Card is not mentioned?
Thanks in advance
Best Regards
Vedant Kulkarni
Hi Vedant, thanks for your questions. This video may answer your question on the difference between work permits and the EU Blue Card: ua-cam.com/video/dEcBDmUPR1U/v-deo.html
Regarding your other two questions: You can for example change from a skilled workers permit to an EU Blue Card if you fulfill the requirements for an EU Blue Card. This is also the case for extensions on an existing EU Blue Card. Hope this helps!

My sister travelled to Kenya and her temporary visa permit expired before she got back to Germany.
What are the steps she can take please?
She had already submitted all the documents for extension/ Student permit application before she left Germany.
Please advise 🙏🏾
Hi Dianah, I would suggest her to reach out to her local German embassy and ask them how to proceed. From my experience with other candidates, they usually had to submit a new visa application. Let me know how it turned out!
