I used to love the Kuzco Academy show as a kid, but dang, that production quality difference is staggering ._. I’m glad I wasn’t picky as a kid. Also, now I have the theme song stuck in my head =_=
I honestly didn't mind. Yeah the difference in animation is obvious, but I think the show's style fits well with the show's fast paced slapstick humor.
God I love this movie, and it makes me happy as a Peruvian how an Inca-inspired film still receives so much love. Also, as the geeky trivia fan I am, I'd like to share some obscure facts about the movie: - "Were-llamas" are a thing in Peruvian mythology. There's a creature called "Jarjacha" who is a person that turns into a llama or a dog as a curse for committing the sin of incest. This legend however, is post-Spanish-colonization, as incest wasn't uncommon in Inca society. - Kuzko's dad going on a journey has a real-life parallel. There's a theory that claims that Sapa Inca (Inca King) Tupac Yupanqui sailed from Ecuador, all the way to Easter Island and French Polynesia in Oceania. - There are some meaningful names in the characters: Kuzko is Quechua for "Navel/Center of the World", hence his self-centredness; Pacha means "Earth", and he's down-to-earth, and Yzma is similar to Ychma, a kingdom located near of what today is Lima, which was conquered by the Incas; Lima city would eventually replace Cusco as the capital of the country after the Spanish colonization (quite like Yzma did when Kuzko went missing) - The shape of Kuzko's palace was modelled after the Tumi, a ceremonial knife which actually predates the Inca empire for some centuries.
It was in the episode where he was turned into a Red-Eyed Tree Frog He disliked being it over all other animals, also he became a quote unquote super hero and became Red-Eyed Tree Frog Man
Kuzco: You threw off my groove! Guard: I'm sorry but you've thrown off the Emperor's groove. Old Man: (get's thrown from window) SOOORRRYYYY!!!! It was when I saw this scene that I knew this movie was going to be hilarious.
I just realized that the cartoon was actually very knowledgable about mesoamerican history and that disney did their research. Most meso american communities would actually send children to school from 15 to 18 including children of nobility in order to gain certain proffesional titles. Children of nobility especially boys were also expected to also give service to the priesthood and be chaste for a few years of their early adult life. Kuzko choosing to go to school in order to become the emperor was actually a very real act and a choice a child of nobility (especially heir to the throne) had to make.
And yet, it was still incredibly anachronistic (like the waitress using a Hebrew phrase in Pre-Colombian times in the Americas, the existence of coffee in the new world, and knowledge of pre-avian dinosaurs) and that's why it's hilarious.
Well that explains why Kuzco was so selfish, manipulative and obnoxious. Growing up without a family can really hurt and mess you up. Also they never said anything about Kuzco's mom, I wonder what happened to her. Also how Kuzco was acting ruling the kingdom is a prime example of why children need guidance, otherwise they turn into monsters who do and say whatever they want, even thinking they're better than everybody
Plus having a selfish, manipulative, obnoxious parental guardian also causes this. Kuzco and Yzma are very similar in personality. He only lacks her knowledge in alchemy.
@A.r tomboy That's why I said "having a selfish, manipulative, obnoxious parental guardian also causes this." I was referring to Yzma. Also considering how wicked, deceitful and manipulative Yzma is, "friend" is a loose term from her. Only real true friend (if you can call it that) is Kronk.
I've read a fanfic where Kuzco's mother died of a broken heart when Kuzco's father was declared lost at sea. Another theory I could give is that she died in childbirth. Wow, this suddenly got all sad and depressing.
@@francesleones4973 See I had a creepy theory about Kuxco's mother. If you watched the tv series, then you might've seen the episode where Yzma regains her youth. She's quite attractive in her youth. Enough to entice Kuzco. My theory that Yzma may have used this tactic before but on Kuzco's...dad. Think back to history where wicked, power hungry women would charm the king and have a child for him all for the purpose of RULING the kingdom via through their child, the King's heir. Yzma could be Kuzco's mother...She could've changed her appearance with magic (or made herself young again), bedded Kuzco's father and gave birth. Since the magic on all of her potions are temporary (except for Kuzco's llama potion), Yzma had to fake her alter ego's death. This could also explain why Yzma never thought to just kill Kuzco as a baby or at ANY time. She let him grow into adulthood. But when he betrayed her, seeing that he was becoming more like HER, she saw him as a threat for the FIRST TIME EVER. That shattered whatever "good" she had left for him. I say good instead of love because the whole point of having Kuzco was for power not for motherly desire. That's my theory.
Christian Ali 'WHAT A LLAMA HE'S SUPPOSED TO BE DEAD?!'Uh no Yzma he needs to be a Llama on Earth before that happens... Quit trying to upset the laws of the universe!
As a peruvian young girl I feel so proud and amazed that there is a movie about the Inca culture. When I was little and the show would play on TV I felt so proud because it was representing my culture. My friends and I always talk about how Kuzco is the sassiest most amazing Disney Princess ever (because the princes aren't as recognized and Kuzco deserves recognition). The representation might not be 100% accurate but it's a kids show/movie and it is so fun and well made that I don't really care. I'M JUST SO GRATEFUL THAT THIS SHOW EXISTS. Btw, some random facts for you: The Inca capital was Cusco (the real deal is not written Kuzco, but Cusco) which means 'el ombligo del mundo', or 'the belly button of the world'. This means it's the center of not only the Inca empire, but of the whole world, which is a perfect match for his personality!
Speaking of his lost dad, is there a chance you could do a theory in where his dad is? Maybe there's not enough evidence, but it's just a suggestion. You don't have to.
Yeah. I guess I never thought of it like that. Kuzco was the way he was because he never had a family and couldn’t see anything besides himself. I like that he’s better now and he has Pull in his life who love him for him not for his money or power which is important in the long run. Thank you Isaac for uploading this I voted for this one.
It's nice to see a man redeem himself from heartless and damned to righteous, joyous, and caring. Not all movie villains have the chance to go to the good side. Which is why movies, like the Emperor's New Groove, are so important in today's world. Not only do they teach a lesson about the morality of the monarchy, but they are also heartfelt, touching, amazing, and inspiring stories that deeply go into detail about not the world as it is, but what the world could be. That's the magic of Disney. That's why people enjoy Disney so much. Disney provides a way to comfort people, fix their broken hearts, and Disney also provides the freedom for people to enjoy their lives in a world that does not always have a good feeling about the people who live on it.
Same here and like the MsMojo channel said 5 years earlier and I believe it's true "Disney sure has a knack for creating flawed characters and making them surprisingly likeable" from their list of the top 10 underatted male disney characters where Kuzco is placed at number 5 😁
Pacha: Uh-Oh! Kuzco: Don't tell me! We're about take over huge Waterfall. Pacha: Yep! Kuzco: Sharp rocks at the bottom? Pacha: Most likely. Kuzco: Bring it on.

I’d argue that Naveen is pretty similar to Kuzco, actually. Both in when the films were released, and in the fact that one is from the Aztec empire while the other is from the Roaring 20’s, haha.
I could see in the future, after Kuzco and Malina get married and have a kid (most likely daughter), Kuzco, fearing his child would end up similar to him and/or may be threatened by Yzma or someone else, asks Pacha's family to raise his child so that his and Malina's child could be raised not only by a loving family, but also learn humility and compassion for others. Thoughts??
I don't see that as plausible, tbh. Yes, I could see Kuzco fearing for the safety and morals of his kid... but I don't imagine he'd dump his baby onto Pacha's family. Before the movie, that'd be in-character, but after learning the error of his ways and realizing that governing an empire is much harder than he thought, I can't see his character having a friend raising his child for him. Not that Pacha would refuse or see Kuzco as lazy, but I don't thin Kuzco would come to make that choice in the first place. I DO see Pacha and his family pitching in to help him and Malina raise their child; Having already been a father for years, Pacha could provide much more insight on what it means to be a father. Not just a friend or a husband, but a father to a child when Kuzco himself grew up without one. He and the rest of his family could help teach Kuzco and Malina to raise their kid to be humble, empathetic and responsible, with Kuzco possibly having some overprotective-dad times.
BloodStalker 500 that is more accurate, thanks. But to have a typical Disney Plot of a sequel, we’d have to ignore some a few logical choices for the plot to work, wouldn’t we? 😜😎
Kuzco, emperor of the Inca Empire, was raised by a centuries-old woman.... who tried to kill him...... and turned into a cat..... there's Izma for you, folks.
Yzma: "It's no concern of mine whether your family has... what was it again?" Peasant: "Uh food". Yzma: "Ha you really should have thought of that before you became peasants." Oh yeah... she would've been a great leader...
@@madambutterfly1997 You don't really know that. In fact the only things we see her doing when she actually inherits the throne is replace all the Kuzco stuff with Yzma stuff. I hate having to explain a joke, but part of the "I practically raised him" line is inferring Kuzco inherrited some of his nastier traits from her.
A LLAMA?!!! HE'S SUPPOSED TO BE DEAD!!!! And Random gaurd: I got turned into a cow..can I be exused? Yzma: Yess, anyone else?? The rest of the guards: Nope, no, were good. #CLASSIC

*BOOM Baby!!* 😃🦙 Thanks for the video Isaac, The Emperors New Groove is definitely one of the funniest and grooviest Disney movies in the last 20 years.
Back when I was too young to know any better, I believed that Cusco was a real emperor [and the former capital of medieval Peru was named after him].I used to tell people that he was so selfish, that they killed him, and the legend of him turning into a llama was either manufactured by Disney or a legend that Peruvians used to tell each other.Turns out this movie was completely created by Disney, from start to finish.
Kuzco:BOOM BABY!! Its time for Wosto from "Wosto Videos" to tell you (my fansand his) about the full story about me and possibly my un-known father who only appeared in one episode from my show "The Emperor's New School" everyday on Disney Channel and other stuff. Take it away, wosto my man. Wosto:Sure thing, Kuzco!
Silently dreaming of the day I will call my children to come to eat the way Yzma says: "It's dinner tiime!" with all the special visual and sound effects included.
Kuzco is really one of my favorite Disney characters of all time, I'm so glad you did a full story video of him! I never knew how the series ended until now!
This movie was my everything as a kid. I'm half Peruvian so my dad would play it all the time. It's also about the incan empire and my ancestors were incans so that's pretty neat too. Tbh this is one of the only disney movies I like. Its pretty accurate and pretty good overall. Lmao I still remember: Classmate: so he's Mexican? Dad: *inhales and does a whole speech about the movie* Ah memories...
Would kuzco ever get married because in an episode of the emperor's new school he was going to b married to some bossy lady but good thing he didn't & what if he married Melina
This is absolutely my FAVORITE Disney movie! I can pop it in any time, and have hundreds of times i'm sure, and it STILL makes me laugh. But it's not JUST funny, as you mention here it does have a very good moral to it. A real life isn't what you have or how many people think you're cool, but what kind of person you are and how you treat others.
+Wotso Videos Nice work on this video, Isaac. I really dislike Kuzco for his selfish and arrogant personality. Kuzco made a worst decision for trusting Yzma and Kronk and pushing Pacha away for not believing that Yzma wants to kill him. Kuzco really learnt his lesson for mistreating his fruends and enemies. His actions really had serious consequences. But good thing he changes in the end.
wouldn't he be killed because he's not a good leader by his people? cause i know in inca, mayan or aztec, you try that bullshit, they sacrificing you to the death god

No wonder why the Incan got so sick from the Spaniards if incest was common like that. They would have killed themselves off at some point in time.

😜😎
Or meet his end by the Spainish.
@@pranavsunder Nah, the Spanish (not the "Spainish") didn't arrive until Atahualpa's rule.
@@mrreyes5004 The timeframe is vague so we have no idea when it is set.
Kuzco, emperor of the Inca Empire, was raised by a centuries-old woman.... who tried to kill him...... and turned into a cat..... there's Izma for you, folks.
So you could argue that Yzma took the job very seriously and was actually good at it
Yzma: "It's no concern of mine whether your family has... what was it again?"
Peasant: "Uh food".
Yzma: "Ha you really should have thought of that before you became peasants."
Oh yeah... she would've been a great leader...
@@FireBlastStudios in spite of one peasant making the complaints, Yzma held the empire together until Kuzco was old enough to take the throne
Solid analysis. Thanks. I never realized there was so much depth in Kuzco’s story.
I love this movie so much!!!
This was a really good one.
I knew literally nothing about Kuzco's parents let alone his Father.
A LLAMA?!!!
HE'S SUPPOSED TO BE DEAD!!!!
And
Random gaurd: I got turned into a cow..can I be exused?
Yzma: Yess, anyone else??
The rest of the guards: Nope, no, were good.
#CLASSIC
The one that everyone remembers:
Pull the lever, Kronk! WRONG LEVEEEEEER!
@@applebee28 And where he broke the 4th wall telling everyone that the story was about him and not abouth Pacha..🤣🤣🤣
Kuzco is figuratively and literally CHANGED
“ A LAMA?!? HE’S SUPPOSED TO BE DEAD!” 😂 I still love this
I think I’m a better tyrant than him. Boom baby
Yes yes omfg yes
J-just please D-don’t press your button I beg oh mighty Tyrant.
Yes we need to know. Where's his parents
Robin Light well thanks to another comment, we know te mother got the DMD disease (Disney Mother’s Death) I guess we just need his father...
@@elizhernandez9546 his mother could've been a concubine
@@Joeygalvez494
I mean...does that mean she's still alive or?
I felt bad that Kuzco's parents weren't there for him when he was growing up
I wish the TV show made a twist where Malina was actually one of the girls Kuzco could pick in the movie but he doesn't remember.
One of my fav Disney movies to this day. He’s just the Disney male princess with a ton of comedy.
Ha! Boom baby! I remember the first time watching this film 😆😊
Kuzco also lives with Pacha’s family in the show while Kuzco has to attend high school
Crazy how even after practically raising Kuzco Izma still tried to kill him.
Now this is a story
all about how
My life got flipped
Right upside down
I remember this movie so much and I remember watching it repeatedly. I love the fact that all my memories are back due to this video. Please keep up with the good work!
You sure make great videos, Isaac. I love your enthusiasm and positivity.
I love the movie. Kuzco is one of my favorite characters that's the funniest. Great video too.
Kuzco is the Lovable Rich Jerk to Aladdin's Lovable Poor Jerk (Sometimes jerk at least in the Show)
Dude, I watched that tv show all the time, but I never got to see the ending. Nice to know that they wrapped it up nicely!
Oh my heavens this is amazing! This was amazing to see, really love all of your videos! Especially the character analysis ones.
Yay, one of my favourite films! :D
I agree with you.
Newbesailboat me too
Kuzco is still my favorite character in the cartoonian community.
*BOOM Baby!!* 😃🦙
Thanks for the video Isaac, The Emperors New Groove is definitely one of the funniest and grooviest Disney movies in the last 20 years.
This is one of my personal favorites.:D
Thank you very much, Isaac and have a magical day as well, my friend.:D
Kuzco is one of the many characters in TV history with great character development.
“ Don’t tell me, we’re about to fall off a waterfall.”
“Yup”
“Sharp rocks at the bottom ?”
“Most likely “
“Bring it on”
I love this bit
So do I! It's iconic from the movie. I always remember that from the trailer
“You know what..? Some day your gonna be all alone.. And you’ll have no one to blame but yourself..”
Kuzco : * *-Lip smak-* *
that cracked me up
Back when I was too young to know any better, I believed that Cusco was a real emperor [and the former capital of medieval Peru was named after him].I used to tell people that he was so selfish, that they killed him, and the legend of him turning into a llama was either manufactured by Disney or a legend that Peruvians used to tell each other.Turns out this movie was completely created by Disney, from start to finish.
Remember watching Kuzco Academy when I was little, but I don't remember anything of it, except that Kuzco would visit Pocha.
Lol literally just watched this on Saturday! Thanks Issac!!!!
God, I love that film.
I grew up with The Emperor's New Groove, but I didn't know his story went this deep. This was pretty cool.
Even to this day this movie remains my top #1 Disney movies
KUZCO IS MY FAV THANK YOU FOR THIS
This was such a good video! Nice job!
I'm blessed an Happy you did this been so curious about Kuzco now gotta rewatch this
Omg this movies was my CHILDHOOD, probably one of my favorite Disney movies
Kuzco:BOOM BABY!!
Its time for Wosto from "Wosto Videos" to tell you (my fansand his) about the full story about me and possibly my un-known father who only appeared in one episode from my show "The Emperor's New School" everyday on Disney Channel and other stuff.
Take it away, wosto my man.
Wosto:Sure thing, Kuzco!
"Wosto"? It's "Wotso".
I didn't mean to get 2 letters mixed-up.
this is so amzing i cant explain how thankful i am for you to do these videos its amazing and who doestn love the emperor new groove love thus movie
Silently dreaming of the day I will call my children to come to eat the way Yzma says: "It's dinner tiime!" with all the special visual and sound effects included.
Nice video I love all of your videos Isaac u think your amazing and the only person who is as big as a Disney fan as me xxx ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🖤
Kuzco is really one of my favorite Disney characters of all time, I'm so glad you did a full story video of him! I never knew how the series ended until now!
Im addicted to watching your channel.
This movie was my everything as a kid. I'm half Peruvian so my dad would play it all the time. It's also about the incan empire and my ancestors were incans so that's pretty neat too. Tbh this is one of the only disney movies I like. Its pretty accurate and pretty good overall.
Lmao I still remember:
Classmate: so he's Mexican?
Dad: *inhales and does a whole speech about the movie*
Ah memories...
As half Peruvian, I adore this movie. I never got to see the TV series so I missed out a great journey of Kuzco.
Yassssss. Love Kuzco and your channel/videos ❤️🦙
Would kuzco ever get married because in an episode of the emperor's new school he was going to b married to some bossy lady but good thing he didn't & what if he married Melina
He *better* marry Malina lol
This is absolutely my FAVORITE Disney movie! I can pop it in any time, and have hundreds of times i'm sure, and it STILL makes me laugh. But it's not JUST funny, as you mention here it does have a very good moral to it. A real life isn't what you have or how many people think you're cool, but what kind of person you are and how you treat others.
THIS IS A UNDERATED SERIES BOTH MOVIE AND SHOW.
Thanks for this video! The world needs more Kuzco love
So happy you liked it! I totally agree!
Well Yzma practically raised him so it makes sense that he would trust her
I agree with you.
A underrate disney classic
Thanks you for the video 😃😄😁
This video made me smile so much idk why
You threw off my groove!! -Kuzco
