I agree! I've lost and regained at least 500 pounds in my 61 years on this earth. More than once losing over a hundred pounds at a time. And I think the reason why I regained every time is that I was only focused on the destination never the journey. So whenever I lost focus on the goal, I just went back to eating the way that put all that weight on me. 🤦♀️ This time, for the first time, I am paying more attention to my journey towards the destination than my actual goal. This time I haven't even considered "a goal weight", I am too busy with the journey. I'll know it when I get there😊
That's a great way of looking at it! focusing on the journey, and keeping so busy with the journey that you don't have a planned goal weight. I really like that thought process!
I understand why you say that - thank you!! I want you to know that I LOVE these chats because I learn sooooo much from your journey!! You are amazing ❤❤❤
Hi Terri, love your videos as always. I was checking my emails whilst listening to this video & had a reminder of an email to look at. The title of it is "Small steps, Lasting impact". I felt this correlated with your message. So happy you're doing so well & decluttering. Something i really need to work on, too. Unfortunately i haven't been doing to well and put on weight again, trying to get back on track. Hoping all these videos can help motivate me. I hope you're well and have a wonderful and blessed Christmas with your loved ones. God bless you always. Marnie. ❤🙏🏽😇🇬🇧🎄🌟
Hello Marnie!!!! I know how easy it can be to get distracted and regain some. That small steps lasting impact is very wise. I really think that can work in so many different areas of our lives. Thank you for sharing and merry Christmas to you toooo
It interesting you talked about this today. I was just saying to my mom that you don’t see many people in this space talking much abt the mental/ emotional healing component of a weight loss journey. For me, that was the first area I noticed the biggest positive difference almost immediately when I cleaned up my diet! The increased mental energy helped me make better decisions early on. Not perfect, but much better.
That’s so true! Also, I’ve learned that when I have a stall my body & mind need to catch up. Don’t give up! I have 25# more I’d like off. Lots I’m learning about myself too. Merry Christmas everyone! God bless! ❤🤗💞
It’s so true my body would shift when I had a stall and people would be like…’oh I can really tell you’ve lost weight’. And I’m thinking…i haven’t lost in weeks, but when I’m losing no one says a word h
It's always good visits with you. So much goes on in our lives and our heads that makes it hard to stay the course. But it helps listening to what you've went through and all the little steps to success. Thank you Terri.😊
My least favorite weight loss phrase is "woe". There is nothing wrong with the word diet, as it literally means the food you eat. Woe means sadness. I know what they mean, but it bugs me. Not that you asked! Thanks for sharing some of the things you've learned along the way. I'm learning that I'm impatient and want God to defattify me overnight. I have to do the work and He'll help me be strong enough to do it. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas!
awwwww it's funny, but i too disliked to type WOE on every group i was in, and finally i got desensitized to it. But i think you're right, it IS a diet, my dogs eat kibble as their diet. a lion eats meat as their diet. You're so right!
Wow, did this come at the right time! I’ve been on a stall and this was soooo full of wisdom. I was just thinking that; apparently there’s something I need to tweak to start the loss again! ❤❤
Thank you so much! I’m glad it could help, we for sure have to tweak from time to time to get things moving again. It's awesome that you were thinking of doing it!
Love you Terri! ❤I’ve had a lot going on and don’t always get to comment but just wanted you to know that! Merry Christmas and God bless you! 🙌🙏🎄🎁🎅🏼🧑🏻🎄 ⛄️ ❤
I didn't used to be big. I dated thinner guys, hung out with thinner people. I married a man who ate what he wanted. Didn't really pay attention to that while I was dating him🙂. He grew and so did I. When I worked opposite shifts of him I lost weight. This sounds like I'm blaming him, no its just I'm weak.
I always think it's interesting, most people who i know who meet someone and fall in love they gain happily married weight. it's so hard then to turn things around and lose that happily married weight. making one change at a time can definitly make a difference
I have one, but like every other exercise equipment i've had, it just went in the basement :) it was easy, and not hard, I am just not into exercise and i didn't use it like i should have
The journey gets much harder the older I get.
that makes so much sense Theresa!

Really great advice, Terri! It's a lifestyle change for sure.
Definitely and I sure didn't fully grasp it until the past couple years.
I understand why you say that - thank you!! I want you to know that I LOVE these chats because I learn sooooo much from your journey!! You are amazing ❤❤❤
Thank you Kim! I try to say the things that old Terri would have wanted to learn or hear along the way.
Have a wonderful Monday!

You’re not weak, either, honey. ❤ Listen to Terri, she’s got great advice!

I'm considering buying a rebounder for exercise. Have you tried one?
I have one, but it wasn’t called a rebounder then! Just a mini trampoline.
I have one, but like every other exercise equipment i've had, it just went in the basement :)
it was easy, and not hard, I am just not into exercise and i didn't use it like i should have
