This is literally the best combat movie I've ever seen, and that's coming from someone who hates combat/war movies. This movie was AMAZING! It's almost 3 hours too. All the characters were perfect for their parts, even though they aren't well known. Interesting window into the lives of both sides of this conflict. If these guys weren't such elite operatives this would have been a very big mess of dead Americans, although there were deaths. Crazy movie.

As for the historical inaccuracies that people are criticising, the surviving soldiers actually worked on the script and said that there were "stand down" orders and that no air support was available. Well done Michael Bay! Well done. Very powerful, and emotional film.

I'm no fan of Michael Bay movies which is fine, I'm allowed to have an opinion so don't get your knickers in a twist, but this movie was actually very good. Yeah it's a typical Michael bay move with the explosions and fast action but it was entertaining the whole way through and had a good build of suspense without the predictability. It had good drama scenes, showing a relationship and development between the characters. It's up to you but I'd say this is worth a watch and worth your money.

If you merely examine his cinematography you see that he's all about dynamic stuff. If he knew how to shoot a slower scene, without the dumb comedy, he'd probably be a pretty good director. At best, he's a less evil, more visually sound version of J.J. Abrams.
I appreciate how this movie acknowledged the losses and terror of war on BOTH sides of the line. There was a small moment of peace during the Muslims morning prayer which I thought was beautiful in its own right. Soldiers laying down their arms and praying right there and then. ❤
I rewatch this again last night.. Knowing this is a true to life story just really breaks my heart. This movie shows there's no winner in war. Either side are just fighting for what they believe is right and most of them ends up dead.

I usually hate American war movies because of blatant American propaganda, but this movie did a great job in depicting the Bengazi tragedy. The movie was unique in a sense that their was acknowledgement by a few American characters in the movie that they were "guests" and "we're on their turf, so we play by their rules". The movie did a great job in painting the realism of a war-torn country and how people who are deployed their to protect and serve do the job because of the flag, not for any selfish needs.
Sam King I know this is what most people are going to think, and it's understandable, but I think this one could be good. Michael Bay has directed some solid action films. The Rock and Bad Boys come to mind. Also, Chuck Hogan wrote this, so there is hope. He wrote The Town and The Strain.

Yeah it's a typical Michael bay move with the explosions and fast action but it was entertaining the whole way through and had a good build of suspense without the predictability. It had good drama scenes, showing a relationship and development between the characters. It's up to you but I'd say this is worth a watch and worth your money.

Thing is, Michael Bay's main flaw is that he tries to make _everything_ big and epic, hence all the explosions and action. If you merely examine his cinematography you see that he's all about dynamic stuff. Problem is, he doesn't really know how to engage an audience without dumb comedy or action, hence why Pearl Harbor was so boring.
If he knew how to shoot a slower scene, without the dumb comedy, he'd probably be a pretty good director. At best, he's a less evil, more visually sound version of J.J. Abrams.

I appreciate how this movie acknowledged the losses and terror of war on BOTH sides of the line. There was a small moment of peace during the Muslims morning prayer which I thought was beautiful in its own right. Soldiers laying down their arms and praying right there and then. ❤

I rewatch this again last night.. Knowing this is a true to life story just really breaks my heart. This movie shows there's no winner in war. Either side are just fighting for what they believe is right and most of them ends up dead.

I have always showed admiration and respect to all service people as well as everyone who puts their live on the line for anyone else. After finally watching the movie 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi , I have new found love for all people in the military.
The men on that day showed so much heart, patience, dedication, strength and unbelievable resilience - it is beyond words. I say THANK YOU TO THEM a 1000 times over. I usually hate American war movies because of blatant American propaganda, but this movie did a great job in depicting the Bengazi tragedy.
The movie was unique in a sense that their was acknowledgement by a few American characters in the movie that they were "guests" and "we're on their turf, so we play by their rules".
The movie did a great job in painting the realism of a war-torn country and how people who are deployed their to protect and serve do the job because of the flag, not for any selfish needs.
