Am I the only one who felt bad for Ultron? His human side ended up making his character more unique and better than other marvel villains. He'll definitely be one of my favorite marvel villains.
Yeah totally, there were loads of those moments. When he said he supposed to be "beautiful" but the avengers had taken it away from him in the form of vision. "When they see they'll understand, they'll understand". At the end he says to sw "You need to leave or you'll die" in a really sad caring tone even after whom he just killed. And his quiet singing too. And his last scene. I felt bad for him too.
Jimmy Her i only wish he would of fought hand to hand with with at least a couple of avengers at the end (i would have, iced all of them ) he pulled in iron man in the wakanda scene but at the end of the movie he only got in a little fight with vision . other than that he was great. ****oh and that little tug as war with thor wasn't really a fight either
I like it overall, but my main problem is the villain. I'm extremely disappointed by Ultron. He never accomplishes anything and can't threaten a fly. Avengers weren't even hurt by the party fight, he failed to threaten the Avengers in Wakanda (something that twins did), failed to acquire the nuke codes, he lost two powerful allies in the Maximoffs, then he lost Vision's body and then he lost access to his machine... Marvel stills struggling with villains as far as I'm concerned. Great thing in the first Avengers is the fact that Loki kicked the crap out of Cap, then trashed a SHIELD Helicarrier before killing Coulson... Ultron could barely fight Cap alone in the roof of that semi-trailer truck.
mrcooldeadly85 MMM.. Sorry Both Zod and Faora were true villains and Zod intent to destroy a whole race to bring his back shows how powerful of a villain he is.
Mozts1 I couldn't agree more. Ultron was my biggest problem. I wanted him to drive the Avengers to their limit, but he got his shiny metal ass handed to.
Watched it twice now and both times the entire cinema was shocked and dismayed at Quicksilver's death. I know some people didn't connect with him, but we did. My sister and I were still hoping he'd magically be resurrected because he was actually a character we were getting behind. I really did like him actually. That scene hit hard. At least in my opinion,
Things I liked: • Opening Action scene. • Great Action. • Hawkeye Development. • Ultron. • Scarlet Witch & Quicksilver. • Hulk Vs Iron Man. • Vision. • New Avengers. Things I didn't Like: • Strucker Wasted. • No Loki Scene. • What happened to the Wakanda woman in Thor's Cave Scene? • Ultron Having Jokes when he should be serious. • Hulk & Widows Love interest. • Quicksilver's Death.
Sonix625 No...they were very close, but I think that the first one was just barely better. The parts of this movie with Natasha Romanov and Bruce Banner hooking up were extremely dumb, and the whole thing with Thor and the magic pool was pointless. The original Avengers doesn't have any moments like that.
***** Yeah, but that isn't fair. Because Loki had multiple movies to develop. If Marvel decides to use Ultron again, then Ultron can easily become a better villain.
Connor Quinn Yeah. The majority of the characters seems like they have the same personality. The tension, drama, and character moments never build because the movie undercut every scene with a joke.
HadesFist Exactly! Mark kept talking about the "darker" moments in the film, my response to that is: what dark moments? Everything that was meant to be serious, Quicksilvers death, Ultron cutting off Klaw's hand, etc all had a joke immediately after.
Luis Gonzalez Exactly my point. I thought the first Avengers had the perfect balance of "Whedonisms" in the film. It feels like they just let him go all out and I feel like the tone kind of ruined the movie for me. Felt similar to the marketing campaign vs the actual film with Iron Man 3. Trailers promised a dark and serious film, actual movie was mostly comedy. Maybe having just watched Daredevil kind of clouded my enjoyment, but damn, I was really disappointed after watching this movie.
I'm honestly starting to think I watched a different movie, because I thought it was a let down. The heroes never actually seemed like they were in danger, because the villain was so lame. One of the four characters (Pietro) who actually liked died, all because he couldn't dodge a bullet, even though he had no problem doing so with Thor's hammer. I even hear people say this is the MCU's best film, it doesn't come close to Winter Soldier or the first Avengers film. Maybe it needs a repeat viewing.
TheoKabala89 Exactly! I knew I wasn't the only one that could be thinking this, seen plenty of people post the same now. Ultron was pathetic. He lost every single fight he had. Not to mention having him throw out bad jokes non stop. His robot army didn't do jack shit. The movie had zero tension.
***** Zero tension and sense of dread is the exact description. A movie about a power AI, who has a robot army should make the viewer feel like the heroes CAN lose. I never got that sense.
TheoKabala89 I thought it was good that Ultron was´t overpowered. That whould just disapoint how he gets deafeated. Do you remember the scene when Pietro got shoot through the arm by a policeman? But now I don´t remember. Did he move Hawkeye, take the shoots or put a car to protect him. Becuse I don´t remember clearly.
I think they also had to kill Quicksilver because super speed can solve almost all problems they have in comic book movies. Now they dont have to think about it all the time and come up with reasons why Quicksilver couldnt solve everything in future movies. They had to leave QS behind in DoFP for the same reason, even tho it didnt make sense to not ask him for help. He would just make everything too easy.
This quicksilver is more like the comics version. Xmen quicksilver was overpowered...like the Flash is with the speed force. The flash is literally like the most powerful JL member.
One of my biggest unanswered questions from the movie was the origin of the twins' powers. Was there an explanation that I missed? I heard rumors a while back that their powers originated from Loki's staff, but that isn't shown in the movie. We know that the staff was there, but so was a bunch of other stuff. Agents of Shield has been pushing Inhumans pretty hard, so I was expecting some Inhumans connection for the twin, but no, that didn't happen.
A Morgan They were test subjects willingly with others but they were the only ones who survived the tests. Granting there powers. I have only seen it once so I might be wrong.
I think one major hero that "dies" in this movie that everyone is overlooking is Jarvis. Maybe Tony can recreate Jarvis, although he kind of did, and Jarvis evolved into Vision. However, I think Jarvis is pretty much out of the picture as far as Marvel movies are concerned because it would be weird to have Jarvis and Vision occupy screen time together. So, I think while we mourn or discuss the loss of an underdeveloped character like Quicksilver, we really need to take time to "pour one out for our homey," Jarvis, who was a far more developed character in his own right.
Also took me awhile to work out if I liked Age of Ultron more than the first one... But after I watched again.. I realised yes I do. I genuinely think that the first one was awesome obviously,, but I do think that the first one was special because its the first time we've ever seen anything like this happen on the big screen. It was a unique and awesome experience. But personally I loved Ultron better after my second viewing, for many reasons that would take to long to write on here :P
Yeah I agree.I think If Age of Ultron came out before, Avengers. and the first Avengers was the sequel. people would say that it wasnt as good as Age of Ultron.
Both Avengers movies have been incredibly UNDERWHELMING for me. They both have such a blandness to them. Ultron was such a let down, Earth's Mightiest Heroes did a better job with the character and his story than the movie.
ThatOnePixel earths mightiest heroes was the generic terminator killer robot, we got a different type of ultron that was much more original and had substance
Anyone else think the Thanos after-credits scene would have made more sense at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy? Especially as that movie had Ronan finding the stone for Thanos but then not bringing it to him. Why is Thanos all in a huff after Age of Ultron? No-one failed him in this movie. This after-credits scene should have been moved to the end of Guardians, after the Howard the Duck bit of course, and AoU should have been Black Panther tracking down an injured Uylesses Claw or an introduction to Spidey.
disasterblast Maybe he planned for ultron to bring it to him once he entered his new body. Remember before thor left, he said that it was no coincidence that three stones where in play on earth, and that someone was working behind the scenes. Maybe Ultron did have some strings attached.
In films, I usually judge my enjoyment on the film on how the characters are handled. I'm a big character guy, and that is as far as I can tell the only big problem I have with the first Avengers, the bad management of Hawkeye. It is that reason that I personally believe that Age of Ultron is better than the first. I loved how they handled Hawkeye in this film, as well as side characters like the twins. I surprisingly really grown to like Quicksilver, which shocked me due to my love of the DofP depiction. As well as the character development, I also really liked the action sequences and the dialogue between characters. There are so many quotable pieces of dialogue in this film. I'm watching the film for a third time very soon. Maybe my opinion will slightly change at some point but at the moment it is my second favorite MCU film, below Cap 2.
Its_only_martin (Forgot to say) I liked Cap 2 the most, because of the character use again, as well as the fantastic action sequences and chemistry between everyone... As well as the villain/not villain that is The winter soldier, which I feel is underapprectiated when people talk about the lack of great Marvel villains, but that may be because he isn't really evil at all and is instead being Hawkeye'd ( Brainwashed )
Its_only_martin So quicksilver was a big character to you? A well rounded Deep character? Cause except for a speach about why they hate Stark he barely said anything. He just stood next to his sister looking confused.
Funny... I rate my enjoyment of films primarily on depth of themes, and again, this one came out on top. Sure, the theme of AIs becoming self-aware isn't exactly the most original, but I'll let that go because the same themes existed in the comics far prior to the Terminator franchise which really brought them to the masses. While the first film was fun, and there's no denying that, it was just that: fun. There was very little in terms of character development, very little in terms of story and motivations which was new, and again, the themes weren't that deep. I mean come on, 'teamwork saves the day' is basically the main theme of the first movie. In this film, there is more in terms of character development, that much cannot be denied. There is much more in terms of story and motivations, especially with Tony Stark/Iron Man, Steve Rogers/Captain America and Clint Barton/Hawkeye. And then, we come back to the themes, which are deeper and more meaningful than in the first. I've pinned down exactly why the first seems so far to be the preferred option: the achievement of putting these heroes together on screen overwhelmed the eyes of critics and fans alike. It clouded their judgements, and I'll include myself in the list of those people. But with a great deal of them, they still cannot see clearly on this issue. Myself, I gave the first film a solid 9/10 when it came out. In hindsight, it's dropped to around 6-7/10 since then, and not just because I was fanboying over the sequel. This second one I give a solid 8.5-9/10. But come back to me in three years, maybe this one holds up about as well as the first one to my scrutiny.
basquat76 He was developed enough tot he point where most of us liked him enough. It was a high concept film with a lot more characters than the first, yet it handled each of them more carefully than the first did with it's characters. Granted, Quicksilver wasn't particularly handled perfectly but he did have cool moments and some good lines to which we felt more for him than we did for Hawkeye in the first Avengers. What I was trying to judge this film by ( in terms of character handling) was comparing Hawkeye, even against himself in both films. If Hawkeye died in the battle on NY in the first film, I doubt anybody would have cared. However in this film, when it seemed Hawkeye was going to die, it felt more emotional. Use this to consider Quicksilver too. When he died, people in my cinema gasped and other even said how sad it was. I feel that was a good indication as too how his character was developed to the point where he was significant. Sorry about the long 'rant' like message, I'm not trying to seem angry/ agressive, I just ramble a lot.
Its_only_martin Ah see there it was. Cool moments. A cool moment isn't the same a character development. He went from bad to good without a real explanation. From wanting Stark dead and ready to destroy half the World to do so, to saving Hawkeye, who he didn't even have a real conversation with except calling him old man a few times. This movie is so weak in it's character Development. Hawkeye has a Family. Hulk and token women has a thing for each other. It's chapter 1 in character development.
***** Hmm, I've been hearing some ppl talking about that.. but what part are you talking about? The slow motion scene when they jump on the screen? That was a cool pose tho, lol
***** The pose was cool, and actually didn't look bad, but the rest of the sequence looked really poorly edited and the CG, for whatever reason, looked unfinished. It's like they worked on it, forgot about it, and decided to put forth their work in other scenes instead.
***** Oh yeah, I did notice some jerky cgi movements with Thor when he flies/lands and fights the Hydra soldiers.. but it wasn't that noticeable to the average moviegoer I bet.. but people like you and me that notices those things in films, I saw it. But I was too hyped to even care lol
***** By the end of the movie, I didn't really care. I suppose it's best that, if any scenes were to look bad in a blockbuster, it better be the first so I don't leave the theater with it in mind.
Jaheel Frederick I wholeheartedly agree with Schnepp. And truthfully, if he weren't on this panel, I think this would have been a total love fest, with VERY MINIMAL discussion of the flaws.
***** Yeah man, I almost feel like he wanted to give a lower score but because he was there he would've felt guilty to be the only one giving it a lower score.
***** Its like Star Wars. You have to give people time to enjoy the new movies before focusing to much on any flaws but unlike the prequels I can still suggest people go back and see this again.
For me it goes 1. Captain America: The Winter Soldier 2. Iron Man 3. Avengers 4. Avengers: Age of Ultron 5. Captain America: The First Avenger 6. The Incredible Hulk 7. Thor 8. Iron Man 3 9. Thor: The Dark World 10. Guardians of the Galaxy (yes I hate goofy movies with shit villains) 11. Iron Man 2
I agree, I really liked their chemistry for most of the movie, that one line just stuck out to me, also I couldn't help but hear the sad hulk music when hulk is flying away in the plane at the end lol , still loved the movie though !
Cring0r Now I have to go back to see the movie just to listen better to that scene. Everything John pointed out as missing I caught the first time but I watch very intently and alone in a theater with probably 10 people all together due to it being 11am.
Yeah Moe These movies have a lot of new and exciting things. You have your own opinion but you make me wonder what movie you were watching. I give this movie 9/10. Kicks Furious 7s ass.
Yeah Moe Well I kind of disagree, but I won't go into that aha. But you have to agree that the first Avengers (whether liked or not) was probably one of the most important films for this genre. It opened the doors for teamups and was the last cog in the concept of having a comic book shared universe and having it pulled off expanding the potential of the genre.
Beowulf Adrinor To me it just felt like the 1st. One liners and too much humor. The end fight was just like the 1st. Ultron was rushed and in the trailer they made him look like a badass but he was weak in the movie.
I just saw this movie today and after watching it, my first thought was its better than the first movie and as I started to think about it more and more, this movie is not good. What really hurt this movie was the pacing of it and the villain. This movie made the same mistakes as Iron Man 3 when they showed the trailers of what kind of villain we were going to be getting and once you see the movie, its not the same as what they showed in the trailers. Look we are 11 plus movies in and still struggling to great a good villain? I can not give this movie a pass and look how easy was it for Ultron to get defeated. You would think for an AI like that is to create a new and improve body and yet doesn't do that and comes across way too human...This movie is not even up there with Captain America: Winter Soldier and GOTG. I give this movie a 6.5/10..at first I was going to give it a 7 or 7.5/10 but the more I think about the more I dislike the things I saw in the movie.
sm4carnageihope and that was the problem, I would agree with the people who said Ultron was a great villain if they had shown just how strong he was but in the end...he was just weak.
blackrock316 Honestly I'm the reverse. Iron Man 3 didn't work for me because the writing takes a huge nosedive after the twist and the movie's logic falls in expense for the jokes. AoU I like more the more I think about it. I find this Ultron to be much more complex, deep, interesting and menacing because of his humanity yet how inhuman his viewpoint is. If he was just stoic and evil he would have been every other evil-AI ever, this is original, different, excellent almost straight up poetic. Moments like the final confrontation between Vision and Ultron just make me love this movie more and more. His humor didn't take away that much either since most of his jokes are presented from his own ideology and personality, like forgetting what children are called is because he honestly doesn't care for "small things as humans". He likes to think that he is above us but something tells me he is aware of his humanity and in his arrogance denies it, that's why he hate Tony so much because both is more similar then Ultron likes them to be. Pacing issues? Yeah I agree. Though there have been movies with worse pacing that aren't even ensemble movies and honestly I wouldn't even say it's that bad. It was to fast but it was consistent, the movie felt like a long intense action sequence. It would be worse if it was inconsistent.
blackrock316 Just saying what I felt. I still like Loki more but out of all the Villains I felt Ultron is the strongest right after Loki in character and personality. On just a power and strength level, yes I kinda agree. He's a powerful villain but close to end they did the same thing they did to Loki, playing his defeat more for laughs. Making him seem physically weaker then he was presented but I think character is more important then physical power.
Like: Andy Serkis and The Vision monologue. Dislike: Ultron creates a "meteor" because he couldn't hack the military launch codes (Tony Stark could in two minutes) and the Hulk/Black Widow love story. Maybe I'm old, but to much CGI action bored me now.
When they said they had a friend helping them online or whatever it was I knew it was Jarvis. Pretty well sign posted, I can't understand how you didn't get that lol. 'Just launch nukes man' lol lol lol.
Love it... all the plot holes get fixed with one line. Like in the "Thank you for smoking" scene: 'Thank God we invented the... you know, whatever device.'. lol
Oh and great interview with Rudd, and Douglas! When you came on I practically died, I whispering to my friends about this gem called AMC movie news... ;) and then your "peak" onto the show, the clever ad people DIED over the Jedi Council!! So big ups to that! 😉👍
Also, you can't deny its been getting mixed reactions, watch THIS video that you're on, listen to some of the complaints they ALL bring up. Alica Malone didnt like it, John schnepp and Kritian harloff had problems with it as well. Explore comment sections of Avengers spoiler videos. Explore the comments in here. Some of the complaints "the stakes weren't as high as i thought it would be" "It felt rushed" "ultron was underdeveloped" "bad russian accent". I really like the film but is it that hard to wrap your head around the idea that some people out there dont like Age of Ultron?! Whats up with the 72% rating on RT? Not suree, im guessing some people didnt like the movie.
Aaron Sanders Jesus christ, asks whats up with the 72% rating when he's on a video where the people on the panel LISTS all the complaints and flaws the movie had. They didn't do that with the first Avengers movie. 72% is still good.
I think Shnepp was right, the pacing was way off in spots. Ultron really came out of nowhere when he needed more build up. I personally didn't really care for Ultron as a character. I didn't expect an old school robot, but I did not expect it to have THAT much personality, it got that to the point he was annoying. Ultimatey, this film suffers from every Superhero sequel, by adding too many characters. Spider-Man 2 is the only one to focus on one villain and that is it.
I enjoyed the movie, but I didn't really care for: - Bruce and Natasha's relationship - Hulk (surprisingly). Just not as good as he was in the first movie. And Bruce didn't feel like he had much to do in this movie and came off was "whatever" and "bland/dull". Which leads up back to Phase 1 and why Hulk deserves a sequel more than any of the other heroes, because he STILL HASN'T BEEN ABLE TO GET ONE. - Some of the pointless conflicted moments and drama And yeah, I think the Hulk and Black Widow thing was my main issue with the movie. I just didn't care for them coming together, and Hulk/Bruce came off as annoying to me at some parts. And I think it's because we haven't had another Hulk movie with Mark Ruffalo. I really want one now! Also, some of the Marvel humor and the same formula they use for their movies can get old. I fear that it will get to a point where it gets generic. I mean, I came out of this movie excited, but at the same time, not feeling the same way when I come out of other Marvel movies. I think it all comes down to the fact that this Marvel formula of "HEROES MAKE WITTY DIALOGUE, BECOME CONFLICTED, BUT AT THE END, ALWAYS COME TOGETHER FOR A BIG EPIC BATTLE AGAINST A "WHATEVER" VILLAIN". The Avengers did it, Iron Man 3 did it, Cap 2 did, and now Avengers 2 did it, AGAIN.
SS4xG-ultimate And this leads me to another issue with Marvel movies I've been reminded of. I feel like it's getting TOO BIG. I understand why and still love their movies, but everything's getting TOO BIG and possibly TOO OVER-THE-TOP (the over-the-top thing might be a nitpick). And sometimes, there feels like there are no stakes, which is why I appreciated that someone died in this movie and it wasn't who we expected. Call me crazy, but am I the only one who's kind of missing the days when heroes had more personal, solo adventures? The days of Spider-Man 2 and The Dark Knight. Those stories. Every thing in movies feels like it has to be a BIG EVENT thing now and I get it, it makes money, and Batman v Superman is long overdue. But I just hope Marvel keeps in mind that their solo movies are important to be about their "title hero" and not an AVENGERS 2.5. However, I am looking forward to Civil War and how the Avengers still play into that, so I'm kind of being a hypocrite here. If I could offer Marvel any advice, it would be to beware of TOO MUCH. And by that, I mean I hope that ANT-MAN, DOCTOR STRANGE, CAPTAIN MARVEL, BLACK PANTHER, and especially my favorite superhero SPIDER-MAN don't become Avengers setup movies. And Phase 4 should be about smaller like Phase 1 once was. After all, I kind of miss the days of IRON MAN 1. But I guess I also have to remember that Marvel is beyond just making FUN FEEL-GOOD movies and is a serious movie studio now to the likes of Pixar and Lucasfilm, ironically all owned by Disney as well.
Just like in the early comics, Hulk will be a grouped character instead of having his own series. I'm sure they'd want to give him another chance to shine, but Universal still holds distribution rights
Sjono I understand that decision as Hulk is another reason why the Avengers movies are unique, I guess. I just want more time to get to know Bruce Banner. Avengers: Age of Ultron didn't give me that and couldn't, as only a solo film could. And it doesn't make sense that Universal holds the rights, but won't make another Hulk film? Like, what? Even Sony decided to finally partner with Marvel to do the whole Spider-Man thing. I mean, is Universal even making money from Hulk if they don't make the movies?
Universal would be more than happy to have a solo Hulk movie and make millions of cash. However unlike Sony, they don't have production rights to the character. They'd have to get Disney to create it, which won't happen won't happen because they don't want to share profits.
Sjono Alright, I get it now. Thanks! The fact that a Hulk sequel will probably never happen (at least not until after 2019 or even not in this decade) is sad, but hey, at least he'll show up in the Avengers movies.
Yep, feel the same as Schnepp regarding the pacing. Wish there's more story & dialogues in between all the actions to build up the characters more. Good thing we'll have the 3.5 to 4 hours extended version coming out on Blu-Ray. I think that version will be PERFECT. Cannot wait!!
It's funny Maude felt the Twins were a little too "close" considering their incestuous relationship in the Ultimates. Elizabeth Olsen did say she and Aaron tried to in-cooperate some of that "beyond sibling comfort" into their performance. Overall I loved this movie and want to see it again (two times so far).
I watched the 27 hour marathon, Doing that I will say I thought it was better than the first avengers. Honestly you take away the wow factor of seeing the avengers for the first time and your left with a dry plot and a phantom menace ending.
John, the reason Dr Selvig knew information about the magic hot tub was that he was well versed in Norse mythology as a child. This was touched on several times in the prior Thor films...
This review actually made me love the movie more than I thought I did because the panel explained a lot that I did not notice or took for granted. However, I 1000% agreed with everything Schnepp said. My impression of the movie is exactly the same.
The point you brought up about the under use of Hulk got me thinking, what if, when Ultron is there when the avengers are guarding the trigger, Hulk leaps at him, but Ultron just flicked him off like he was nothing. That would have been cool.
I liked it didn't love it action was great, vision was awesome sorta liked ultron and hawkeye's story was nicely done. However this was filled with plot holes or inconsistencies the visual effects weren't always tight and this movie just didn't pop for me. If give it 6.5 out of 10
bestguyintheworld15 I laughed my ass off because it thought he told hawk eye again, "You didn't see that coming?" but he actually said i didn't see that coming which i thought was very stupid anyways but it wasn't that bad the second time i saw it. I give his death an 7/10.
Also another thing I loved was the conversation Sam Wilson had with Steve Rogers about the missing person in a way giving an update to Steve about having a hard time find Bucky Barnes.
I just want to say thank you to John and all of the AMC team. You guys inspired me to start my own channel, Right now I just do reviews, but I plan on starting a podcast soon too.
I loved it! One scene I'm amazed none of you mentioned was the scene when the team first encountered Ultron and Quicksilver and Thor threw his hammer and quicksilver was running so the hammer was going past quicksilver very slowly and quicksilver tried to catch the hammer mid air and it sent quicksilver flying! I thought that was a great funny scene.
I found it really odd that when Captain America was on the helicarrier at the end of the battle he was lying next to Quicksilvers dead body. It made it seem like Quicksilver wasn't dead, but going to get medical attention and Cap was looking after him.
For me, the Thor Spirit Quest is setting up Ragnarok and Ragnarok sets up Infinity War Part 1 since that is the movie immediately before Infinity War. Also, what happened to the Loki scenes that was cut from the movie? Or the lady in the cloak in Wakanda who was also cut from the movie?
1. Visual Effects Quality - 8 Quite good overall. 2. Cinematography - 5 Nothing special here. 3. Sound - 7 Above average, but nothing that interesting. 4. Story - 6 Predictable at best, lacking character development in gap between films. 5. Script - 6 Comedy just barely offsets the many cliché lines. 6. Acting - 7 Above average, but nothing phenomenal, props to James Spader's voice. 7. General Impressions - 7 At least the action pieces were decent… Rounded Average: 6.5 Overall Comment: Underwhelming, and worse than the first one.
Can someone explain why the hulk has issues becoming and returning to normal( with bw's help) ? I thought he was in control and ok with his hulkness after the first avengers?
pablo sanchez naaa Ultron just too generic, another robot bad guy? I mean it's not like we have any ROBOT MOVIE over the last 5 years right? And let's be fair, Ultron got "gang raped" last minute.
Great review guys! I saw Ultron twice already; once with friends and once with my son. I really, really, enjoyed this film and had a blast while watching it! Marvel is just firing on all cylinders right now! "Age of Ultron" was a fun and entertaining film. Josh Whedon did an incredible job with this franchise and now that he's stepping away, I look forward to seeing what the Russo brothers will do with the sequels.
Yes! at: 31:40 Why didnt we see Hulk go in and get Ultron!? I walked out that film going why wasnt he used right? :( Cause he could have just jumped up and killed ultron at anytime as we seen at the end..
This movie was such a let down for me. The pacing, cgi, and even the villain was a let down. I thought we were going to have a bad ass villian, but instead it was like the mandarin in iron man 3, trailers showed an awesome villian but once the movie started it was a whole different character. I didnt even care when quicksilver died because there was no character development for him. The one thing that Marvel lacks is there villians. Every villian in the marvel universe has been a let down, ultron was at least a step up from the villians we have seen
Daniel Ventura I still think the best one is Red Skull. Loki's actually one of the worst in my opinion and still preferred Ultron despite my problems with him.
Campea askes why The Hulk cant just go smash Ultron. First of all it would leave a hole in their defense, and second of all, it wouldn't matter. Ultron isn't tied to his body so he would just transfer to one of the others, sure his body wouldn't be as powerful, but his plan would still be in effect.
I almost teared up when The Vision asks Ultron "why are you afraid?" and they show Ultron all beat up and he answers "Because of you"...That Ultron human moment hit me.
They mentioned Quicksilver's accelerated metabolism in the story, but never really touched on it after that. Does anyone not think there is still a possibility that he is alive? Doesnt seem likely with so many shots, but still. :)
I can see how people feel the Ultron origin was rushed. He was an idea, then a quick lab montage, in matter of minutes Ultron is born in a random converge of technology and shortly thereafter Jarvis is seemingly murdered. All that said I understood why it was handled that way, they needed him to exist asap so the story could happen. Vision was quickly assembled, as well, but his creation scene was so dynamic and how he was realized is so impressive I'm not sure you really need more. Could we do with some more conversation about who and what he is, sure, but like Campea said, his ability to lift the hammer speaks volumes. Though given Asgard's whole technomagic thing and Vision is an advanced android, he may have cheated. I felt Quicksilver's death, that if nothing else made Age of Ultron for me. I knew he was going to die having accidentally seen a spoiler, plus me not really liking his character for most of the movie I was surprised how affecting his death was.for me. I agree with Schepp though, it does in retrospect feel like a waster of a potentially more interesting powerful character. I wanted Hawkeye to die, the movie does a fantastic job of displaying his expendability, plus I can't stand Jeremy Renner at this point. One thing I do hope they do with Thanos is make him a legit alien. Movies have habit of making aliens either overtly physically or culturally alien like they do with Groot and Drax or they just throw on some jazzy makeup but the character is in every other way entirely human. Gamora was entirely too human, nothing about her spoke to an alien identity, to the deadly woman she is supposed to be either as an assassin or her being raised by Thanos.
I can't stop thinking that last minute scene till it get to the credits with Captain America and Black widow training Vision, War Machine, Falcon and Scarlet witch in that room. It made think that Spider-Man could end up in that Training Room being Trained by Captain America himself.
Ultron made no sense. "Hey I'm Ultron, apparently people suck so I'm gonna kill them." Where the hell did that come from? Marvel fails villain again and such big villain should have been good. QS also sounded girly. Rest was pretty good.
9?, Come on,...This movie is not good. The plot is simple and was terribly executed. The pacing is way off, the tone uneven, repetitive humor and worse of all, what could have been a great villain, was rushed and not well developed. I mean, Ultron had less screen time and back story than hawkeye and black widow. Quicksilver could've made a great avenger that would actually have cool super powers. This movie bothered me more than TASM2. I am not a hater, but this movie was really disappointing. At least The vision was a good point in the movie.
The wood-chopping scene was definitely trimmed in the final film from that scene (posted on UA-cam) that had been shown to audiences at ComicCon. Specifically, Cap's line about "We don't know what she showed you, I just know it made you do something stupid".
the "power stone" unlocks the potential of the other stones thats why thanos will go for that one first and if im not mistaken that stone is with the nova core
I must have seen an entirely different movie. I thought the movie was rushed... I feel like there is too much comedy in these movies. This movie was too cheesy and a fanboys wet dream. Ultron was not scary in the least bit, it was very comical.... Disappointment
Terrell060 I agree and I think just by watching this movie, it had critics confuse because they would write a good review and still give it a negative score for the movie. It had way too much comedy all over the film and most were horrible placed in the film.
They did foreshadow quicksilvers death. When the twins decide to be good and the police stop shooting but one bullet grazes quicksilvers arm. That is a way of marking a target for a future death.
The movie sucked, end of review. And why is it female critics or just average Janes always have to mention hot the male lead is? It makes it difficult to take them serious. Male critcs gets some serious eye rolls if they do the same.
Age of Ultron sucked. Too many jokes and one liners. Ultron was a pathetic ass villain, ultron struggled against iron man alone and he was no match for Vision with the infinity stone. I was hoping for a bad ass ultron that brought the avengers to their knees, instead we got the avengers easily crushing all of ultrons minions....smh
I would have preferred more time with Ultron's origin instead of Hawkeye's back story. Only because he's my least favorite Avenger. But this was a super fun movie.
Quicksilver's death definitely helps to further along Scarlet Witch and Vision's relationship (as y'all pointed out in your review) but I can see Pietro's death being used as a plot point in the upcoming Doctor Strange movie as well. I've heard that Scarlet Witch will be in it and she's supposedly gonna be trained by the Sorcerer Supreme in the movie. So Pietro's death could be used as something that weighs heavy on her and could be some sort of emotional block while she's training, or it could be the opposite and it makes her rage out of control and she will have to get trained so she can keep her powers from destroying everything in sight (kinda like Phoenix/Dark Phoenix).
XmenMagnetoAcolytes I never said he was going to come back. Not sure where you got that from, as I said that the DEATH of Pietro would weigh heavily on Scarlet Witch (because he's her twin) and that could be used as a plot point for Doctor Strange, as she will be his apprentice in the movie. Once again, the weight of Quicksilvers DEATH could be used as a plot point as to why Scarlet Witch can't master her powers in Doctor Strange. Btw I'm not saying that it will be used as a plot point, just that it could. The point being that I never said that I thought Quicksilver would be brought back to life. That would take away the purpose of him dying in the first place! They killed him mainly to show the fans that characters can actually die in this universe, which gives more weight to the stakes of the movies. Bringing him back would just piss the fans off at this point.
Finally most critics aren´t kissing Marvel´s ass as much this time. I´m glad. Their movies are just well done average flicks. At the end of the day not even the ass kissing can beat Nolan´s Batman trilogy not even when it comes to rates by critics.
sanyrub Is that the same trilogy that's shot in plenty of shadow, disorienting close ups and choppy editing to conceal the director's utter ineptitude in action sequences? It's clunky and leaden. Heath Ledger was really great though.
Iam Miasma LMAO So a movie is a as great as the action and that´s it? :) No wonder mediocre movies like Fast and Furious or most Marvel flicks are so successful with people like you buying tickets.
Srinivas Sooraj or maybe....just maybe....that on average superhero movies gross over 100 million dollars and AMC wants a piece of the action. It's just smart business, not everything has to be a conspiracy of selling out and backroom door shit
I have a theory.. If you notice the connection between Ultron and Scarlet witch, Ultron seems to be more nurturing towards her.. On the train, he says "you don't have to do this" to scarlet witch, and when the chunk of Europe fell, ultron told scarlet witch, "if you stay, you will die" this proves that ultron actually has feelings for scarlet witch! He actually cared for her health and wellbeing! Obviously in the comics vision has a relationship with scarlet witch, and hopefully Ultron's feelings for scarlet witch get passed on to vision when ultron transmitted part of his brainwaves into vision! Also one slightly disturbing theory. When scarlet witch left ultron, obviously ultron will feel sad and alone, so he kidnapped black widow to keep him company as roughly said in the movie, but is it just me or when black widow woke up in Slovakia, she was no longer wearing her bra and you could see her nipples through her suit... And her zip was slightly lowered.. To me, this feels like ultron dealt with his loss by kidnapping another woman and possibly did something "funny" to her as she was unconscious! Ultron has no genitals so I would not go as far to say rape, but ultron certainly DID do something to black widow! It's either that, or scarlet johanson's nipples just perked in the cold climate. Mmmmmm| johanson's nipples :3
Did anyone notice Disney putting in the Pinocchio cameo when the camera is panning out or Ultron's lair and Pinocchio is singing "there are no strings on me"?? That was perfect to me.
One thing that I loved when they referenced Wakanda was that Tony and Steve seemed to have knowledge of its existence. They both knew about what comes from Wakanda and Tony seemed to know that it is not the friendliest place on earth: "If this guy got out of Wakanda with some of their trinkets". Hopefully in Black Panther we can see the history it has had with the outside world.
I 100% agree with Schnepp, my other problem with it is that at times it felt like they were just checking boxes for phase 3, I'd still give it 7.5 or 8/10
But what i really liked about that speech on top of the Humor from Hawkeye , was that he came across as a father figure towards scarlet. The twins more or less grew up with no father , they only had each other...they are then put in a bad spot in this fight and we see scarlet's vulnerable side like a scared child (which was awesome) so to me we saw more of this Paternal side to Hawkeye which Scarlet witch needed in that moment. I loved that scene a lot.
I think for me, the death of Quicksilver hit me so hard because I have a twin brother, and seeing Wanda's reaction is exactly how I would react. Even more so if he was the only person I had left. I felt exactly what she was feeling. I choked up a bit because I put myself in her shoes. And Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen have great chemistry together. They made me believe that they're actually brother and sister. I really don't think that there's a stronger bond than the one siblings share.
Also got to remember in the beginning of the movie, Maria says Quicksilver has high matabolism. Could mean he has a fast healing factor which could also possibly mean he'll be alive. Maybe. Who knows. Just a thought.
One thing John and crew didn't cover was the Hulkbuster suit. I loved the way it was done. 1st, having it in orbit to reach anywhere on Earth quickly. 2nd, knowing Banner helped design it to defeat himself. 3rd, having - essentially - a factory hovering above the fight and supplying Iron Man replacement parts for what the Hulk breaks or rips off during the fight was sensible and a great touch.
We didn't get a set-up to 'Civil War'? Well that may be true, but we got a glimpse into what will happen when the heroes CHOOSE SIDES when Banner and Hawkeye were with Iron Man and Captain America had the Maximoff twins at his side at the scene where they wanted to create/destroy the Vision. We get to see Iron Man vs. Captain America little fight, I got goosebumps when I saw them fighting. That's what I thought....
I'm realizing now that after seeing the movie only once that I should go see it again because I just had this "vision" (no pun intended, and no it wasn't Wanda) What if the scene where the Hulk is in the QuinJet by himself, the song "Summertime Sadness" began to play, but it's from Natasha's viewpoint? Think about it: "Kiss me hard before you go...Summertime Sadness...I just wanted you to know...that baby, you the best..."
i wonder if they even noticed the part when Hawkeye was on the transport and saw the kid he had to save and just "sighed" and ran after him.. really making us viewers believe that this was it, he was going to die lol.
Now in 2020 I see this show and I realise this was the Golden era of youtube. I miss the crew, specially John Schnepp
Am I the only one who felt bad for Ultron? His human side ended up making his character more unique and better than other marvel villains. He'll definitely be one of my favorite marvel villains.
Exactly, one of the greatest things about ultron in the comics to is he doesn't realise how human he is
Exactly.
I don't but I did really like the scene where him and vision are just talking at the end.
Ultron was a improvement but the only studio that put out good villains is Fox with X-Men both DC and Marvel are struggling.
DC have only had one movie in their cinematic universe, so it's a bit unfair to say that.
mrcooldeadly85 Improvement over what?
mrcooldeadly85 MMM..
At least in my opinion,
Things I liked:
• Opening Action scene.
• Great Action.
• Hawkeye Development.
• Ultron.
• Scarlet Witch & Quicksilver.
• Hulk Vs Iron Man.
• Vision.
• New Avengers.
Things I didn't Like:
• Strucker Wasted.
• No Loki Scene.
• What happened to the Wakanda woman in Thor's Cave Scene?
• Ultron Having Jokes when he should be serious.
• Hulk & Widows Love interest.
• Quicksilver's Death.
Mr Django good list
The scene with Thor and the woman got cut. We will see a director's cut of the film on bluray next year I guarantee it.
Agree 100%. That's literally everything I was thinking
Mr Django I feel Loki has been overused and did not miss him in this film. Thanos is the big bad after all.
Our lists are the exact same.
Better than the first!
Sonix625 yeah, I found the first one to be a bit flavourless
Sonix625 i liked the first more but i still liked it
For me Ultron is much better villain than Loki, that's why I think it's better than the first
***** Not sure who I like more. I need to see AOU again.
Ultron > Loki
***** Yeah, but that isn't fair. Because Loki had multiple movies to develop. If Marvel decides to use Ultron again, then Ultron can easily become a better villain.
Hank Pym i disagree
Thanos>Ultron>Loki
Sjono Nah. I prefer Ultron over Thanos.
Hank Pym you prefer a robot to GOD?
The humor was the biggest letdown for me. When every single character gets a quippy one liner, it stops being unique and funny.
Connor Quinn True. If done every once in a while it would have been great but I feel like they went with quantity over quality with those one liners.
***** It doesn't matter the type of sense of humor if most of the one liners fall flat.
TheoKabala89 the reason he cant dodge a bullet is because he can only move as fast or almost as fast as a bullet, this is confirmed by joss whehodon
TheoKabala89 While Thor's hammer packs a bigger punch it doesn't travel as fast as a bullet. Otherwise he would have been Claw's twin as well.
Wait...so Ultron was gonna use QS and Scarlet Witch to repopulate the earth?
Ultron, you sick son of a bitch.
Lol
solodolomomo Language!
And they said he's not evil bwuahah
SquirrellyFries You kiss your mother with that mouth?
solodolomomo QS is dead.. I'll gladly take his place tho so no worries.
No mention of Andy Serkis? I'm shocked.
lordkibagami There was a lot they didn't mention lol
this wasn't really a review, more like a reaction video
***** Good one.. lol
He was one of my favorite parts.
yankeegrey2810 He has something to do with the Black Panther story line, but I agree his part in the movie was way to short.
Agree completely. Any normal problem is instantly solved. Even some bigger issues that arise.
Super speed won't help you when galactic threats emerge
This quicksilver is more like the comics version. Xmen quicksilver was overpowered...like the Flash is with the speed force. The flash is literally like the most powerful JL member.
Xarko I don't understand. Is it not possible to treat the character as they would in a comic book.
kingragnork no Superman is the most powerful memeber
my favourite line was from Ultron saying something like. "vibranium is the most durable metal on the planet and they make a frisbee out of it."
Daniel Ordonez But what where those experiments? How were they the only survivors? Was it terrigen mist? Everything in the movies is very vague.
A Morgan If the 3 in a half hour version is released they MIGHT explain that.
A Morgan Mate, just go with it! :)
A Morgan their hatred for stark gave them purpose which gave them the will to live.
So you think age of ultron is better I don't think so but that's what you think I'm fine
Kelly Davis I completely agree, I just watched it for the second time today and I enjoyed it even more.
Kelly Davis I couldn't agree more with you. I found Age of Ultron way more emotional which engaged my investment for the characters exponentially.
Yeah I agree.I think If Age of Ultron came out before, Avengers. and the first Avengers was the sequel. people would say that it wasnt as good as Age of Ultron.
Was awesome the first time
Even better the second!
Both Avengers movies have been incredibly UNDERWHELMING for me. They both have such a blandness to them. Ultron was such a let down, Earth's Mightiest Heroes did a better job with the character and his story than the movie.
ThatOnePixel Ultron was getting wrecked like a fodder hydra agent near the end
Suburamo15 Exactly, Marvel pretends to make their big villains menacing, but in the end they turn out to be a huge joke.
I think you all are fruity
ThatOnePixel earths mightiest heroes was the generic terminator killer robot, we got a different type of ultron that was much more original and had substance
I hated this ultron, too many one liners made him look like an idiot rather than menacing.
Also, Falcon shows up at the beginning and the end and yet doesn't do ANY fighting.
This after-credits scene should have been moved to the end of Guardians, after the Howard the Duck bit of course, and AoU should have been Black Panther tracking down an injured Uylesses Claw or an introduction to Spidey.
disasterblast honestly what he said made no sense, you are right, it would make a lot of sense if it was for GOTG, not AOU
disasterblast Maybe he planned for ultron to bring it to him once he entered his new body. Remember before thor left, he said that it was no coincidence that three stones where in play on earth, and that someone was working behind the scenes. Maybe Ultron did have some strings attached.
jsmarthy
thanos and ultron never made contact
disasterblast I would have preferred to see am after-credits scene with Ultron living again by downloading himself into a Chevy Volt or something.
Richard Raymond
or into War Machine's armour.
Still dont understand why Wanda was smiling when Tony took Lokis scepter
Good movie...
if I have one major complaint it is that opening fight scene. That CGI was absurdly bad.
I thought It was just Thor swinging the metal pieces and fighting at the beginning of the scene.
*****
By the end of the movie, I didn't really care. I suppose it's best that, if any scenes were to look bad in a blockbuster, it better be the first so I don't leave the theater with it in mind.
Schnepp Im totally with you, movie was "meh"
He loved it 8/10 not meh 5/10 is meh
I don't think 5/10 means meh. It was meh in that it disappointed me even though I really liked it
Jaheel Frederick I wholeheartedly agree with Schnepp.
For me it goes
1. Captain America: The Winter Soldier
2. Iron Man
3. Avengers
4. Avengers: Age of Ultron
5. Captain America: The First Avenger
6. The Incredible Hulk
7. Thor
8. Iron Man 3
9. Thor: The Dark World
10. Guardians of the Galaxy (yes I hate goofy movies with shit villains)
11. Iron Man 2
worst line of the entire movie is when blackwidow says to hulk ' GO BE A HERO BIG GUY ' :(
Cring0r I did like what she said before that though.
I agree, I really liked their chemistry for most of the movie, that one line just stuck out to me, also I couldn't help but hear the sad hulk music when hulk is flying away in the plane at the end lol , still loved the movie though !
Cring0r Sad Hulk music as in from the TV series?
yeh, its a running joke on the kevin smith hollywood babble on podcasts :p
Cring0r Now I have to go back to see the movie just to listen better to that scene. Everything John pointed out as missing I caught the first time but I watch very intently and alone in a theater with probably 10 people all together due to it being 11am.
The movie was just like the 1st. Nothing new or exciting.
Yeah Moe Are you trolling, or do you not realize how silly a statement it is to say that the first Avengers offered nothing new?
Its_only_martin The 2nd Avengers brought nothing new. It really was just like the 1st.
I give this movie a 6.5/10..at first I was going to give it a 7 or 7.5/10 but the more I think about the more I dislike the things I saw in the movie.
blackrock316 I agree, I wanted an emotionless and threatening badass, not some wise cracking robot who got his shiny metal ass handed to.
sm4carnageihope and that was the problem, I would agree with the people who said Ultron was a great villain if they had shown just how strong he was but in the end...he was just weak.
blackrock316 Honestly I'm the reverse.
It would be worse if it was inconsistent.
garowice
its good that you like Ultron, I just thought he was presented too weak, I mean for a robot to be that smart shouldn't be easy to defeat
blackrock316
Just saying what I felt.
Manuel Alejandro Núñez Gajardo Ultron couldn't hack it because of Jarvis.
When they said they had a friend helping them online or whatever it was I knew it was Jarvis. Pretty well sign posted, I can't understand how you didn't get that lol.
'Just launch nukes man' lol lol lol.
Love it... all the plot holes get fixed with one line. Like in the "Thank you for smoking" scene: 'Thank God we invented the... you know, whatever device.'. lol
when quicksilver dies I loved how they acknowledged that we didn't expect it saying, "You didn't see that coming." before he drops.
Oh and great interview with Rudd, and Douglas! When you came on I practically died, I whispering to my friends about this gem called AMC movie news... ;) and then your "peak" onto the show, the clever ad people DIED over the Jedi Council!! So big ups to that! 😉👍
I was wondering what do you think is up with the rotten tomatoes rating of 72%?
It means that 28% of the critics weren't as impressed with this movie as much as some of the other Marvel movies, simple. 72% is still a good rating.
It's not even at a 72 anymore. The score went up.
Aaron Sanders
Jesus christ, asks whats up with the 72% rating when he's on a video where the people on the panel LISTS all the complaints and flaws the movie had. They didn't do that with the first Avengers movie. 72% is still good.
It raised to 75% as well
I think Shnepp was right, the pacing was way off in spots.
I enjoyed the movie, but I didn't really care for:
- Bruce and Natasha's relationship
- Hulk (surprisingly).
- Some of the pointless conflicted moments and drama
And yeah, I think the Hulk and Black Widow thing was my main issue with the movie.
Here in 2024 after an Ultron rewatch. Mainly to hang with Schnepp
Same, brother.
Maybe I'm totally wrong but wasn't the incest storyline from the comics and if I'm wrong what comic book am I thinking about?
Micktrex I thought Aussies are more comfortable with relationships than Americans.
Elisabeth Olson said they were meant to be closer than they should have been for brother and sister.
***** the two were married in godzilla. just sayin..... super sayin.
tee hee.
Michael Hawkins you weren't wrong. They were too close.
I had no feelings towards Quicksilver's death. It was soo emotionless as well as ATJ's portrayal.
HULK was under used and under powered in this film. I liked it when he jumped in the jet and Ultron said 'for god sake' lol
Flicking the Hulk in the MCU is being saved for Thanos
I thought Hulk was the better defence against the bots than any other of the Avengers, he can wipe out 10-20 at a time with a sweep of his arm
Sjono lol indeed.
MrAfroboy12345 Plus Ultron would just fly up to a height Hulk couldn't reach.
I liked it didn't love it action was great, vision was awesome sorta liked ultron and hawkeye's story was nicely done. However this was filled with plot holes or inconsistencies the visual effects weren't always tight and this movie just didn't pop for me. If give it 6.5 out of 10
Someone laughed when quicksilver died that was fucked up even though he sort of made it funny
R3FlEXable HAHAHA Same here! We're all just sitting there and out of nowhere i just here a soft giggle.
bestguyintheworld15 I laughed my ass off because it thought he told hawk eye again, "You didn't see that coming?" but he actually said i didn't see that coming which i thought was very stupid anyways but it wasn't that bad the second time i saw it. I give his death an 7/10.
Alex Tapia I agree and although his death the second time was a little emotional, I believed it to be unnecessary and anti-climactic.
bestguyintheworld15 Yeah true i did feel for him too.
Also another thing I loved was the conversation Sam Wilson had with Steve Rogers about the missing person in a way giving an update to Steve about having a hard time find Bucky Barnes.
I just want to say thank you to John and all of the AMC team. You guys inspired me to start my own channel, Right now I just do reviews, but I plan on starting a podcast soon too.
the magical hot tub would ve been a perfect moment to introduce dr strange
daolchang or black panther, like "oh i hear wakanda has a magical hot tub"
daolchang wonder if the hot tub scene was also because of stuff about CA:CW is there not a shot of a female going into the grotto?
RIP Schnepp
1. Visual Effects Quality - 8
Quite good overall.
2. Cinematography - 5
Nothing special here.
3. Sound - 7
Above average, but nothing that interesting.
4. Story - 6
Predictable at best, lacking character development in gap between films.
5. Script - 6
Comedy just barely offsets the many cliché lines.
6. Acting - 7
Above average, but nothing phenomenal, props to James Spader's voice.
7. General Impressions - 7
At least the action pieces were decent…
Rounded Average: 6.5
Overall Comment: Underwhelming, and worse than the first one.
Can someone explain why the hulk has issues becoming and returning to normal( with bw's help) ? I thought he was in control and ok with his hulkness after the first avengers?
Schnepp likes loki more than ultron? JOHNS RACIST AGAINST ROBOTS!
pablo sanchez Who doesn't? It's LOKI haha
Linda Cardellini looks too old to still be hot. Ding.
pablo sanchez I think he forgot that Ultron is a robot, and doesn't need 10 years of human development to form a personality and goals.
pablo sanchez naaa Ultron just too generic, another robot bad guy? I mean it's not like we have any ROBOT MOVIE over the last 5 years right?
And let's be fair, Ultron got "gang raped" last minute.
I like bloki better but maudes comment made me laugh.
Cause he could have just jumped up and killed ultron at anytime as we seen at the end..
*loki is the exception though
Daniel Ventura I completely agree on Ultron. But I still think Loki kinda sucks.
sm4carnageihope I agree with you, but there are a few redeeming qualities about his character nonetheless he's still a "better" villian than the rest
Daniel Ventura I still think the best one is Red Skull. Loki's actually one of the worst in my opinion and still preferred Ultron despite my problems with him.
I personally like ultron more than loki
Campea askes why The Hulk cant just go smash Ultron. First of all it would leave a hole in their defense, and second of all, it wouldn't matter. Ultron isn't tied to his body so he would just transfer to one of the others, sure his body wouldn't be as powerful, but his plan would still be in effect.
Mads Feierskov I also figure the Vibranium shell would be near indestructible anyways.
KEEP ANDREW GARFIELD AS SPIDERMAN
No
kimo9449 SHUT UP
Andrew FTW
I'm pretty sure he's taking the piss here.
Honestly, I thought the first Avengers was ok, It was a little boring to me, but this one was amazing, my favorite movie i the MCU thus far!
The pros in this movie far outweigh its cons, this movie has too much going for it to be considered anything less than good.
no one gives a fuck about what you have to say
The gaylord touched my thigh you do though, hence the comment.
Schnepp knows what he's talking about.
I feel like Baron Strucker should've been developed more. Thomas Kretschmann is way too talented to play such a small role
They even killed him. What's with Marvel killing villains who could serve an overarching plot? Makes me doubt that a Masters of Evil will ever happen
And they didn't even show him dying! I feel like half the people who aren't huge marvel fans had no idea who was in the picture
I wish Jeremy Jahns was on here!
I love you.
Elias Hodge He is just the best youtube movie reviewer.
I think Avengers age of ultron was Amazing!!
They did foreshadow quicksilvers death. When the twins decide to be good and the police stop shooting but one bullet grazes quicksilvers arm. That is a way of marking a target for a future death.
GOTG gem was the POWER stone, visions gem was the MIND Stone. maybe for all the gems to reach full potential it need to be powered by the POWER stone.
Movie lacks loki and alien invasion 7/10 big disappointment.
Except it had the same rehashed climax with robots instead of aliens.
Nathan smith it felt for me like usual day in avengers day routine the stakes were not high enough for me.
Bringing him back would just piss the fans off at this point.
this is the transformer of the marvel universe, to much action and not enough depth
:) No wonder mediocre movies like Fast and Furious or most Marvel flicks are so successful with people like you buying tickets.
sanyrub Your opinion isn't fact, fuck off, mate. You seem really delusional to be honest...
True Dot Aww what a great argument! Yours is fact, right? lmao
sanyrub Oh the DC fanboy! Too bad TDK trilogy only has one great film and 2 extremely mediocre ones.
AMC Theatres you guys are sell out to Marvel i think
Srinivas Sooraj or maybe....just maybe....that on average superhero movies gross over 100 million dollars and AMC wants a piece of the action.
It's just smart business, not everything has to be a conspiracy of selling out and backroom door shit
26:20 They also called the newborn boy Nathan, in reference to Natasha wanting Barton to have a daughter so they could name her Natasha.
Bruce Banner Sorry Bruce.. had to go on and talk about robots groping your gal's tatas
I 100% agree with Schnepp, my other problem with it is that at times it felt like they were just checking boxes for phase 3, I'd still give it 7.5 or 8/10
32:00 Banner didn't want to risk rampaging around near the civilians in Sokovia, like he previously did a few days earlier in a different city.
The murals in Sokovia of Ironman carrying M-16s was a cool Civil War foreshadowing prelude...
my favorite line in the movie is from ultron: “Humans found the most powerful metal in the world and used it to make a Frisbee.”
The Stan Lee cameo had me in TEARS!!!!@@!....being carried out "Ex..celsior" ..OMG hilarious!
I think the vision that Scarlet Witch made Thor see and his subsequent "vision quest" could've possibly been to hint at Ragnarok.
I'm realizing now that after seeing the movie only once that I should go see it again because I just had this "vision" (no pun intended, and no it wasn't Wanda)
What if the scene where the Hulk is in the QuinJet by himself, the song "Summertime Sadness" began to play, but it's from Natasha's viewpoint? Think about it:
"Kiss me hard before you go...Summertime Sadness...I just wanted you to know...that baby, you the best..."
i wonder if they even noticed the part when Hawkeye was on the transport and saw the kid he had to save and just "sighed" and ran after him.. really making us viewers believe that this was it, he was going to die lol.
