Danane, Ivory Coast: Hello everyone, how are you doing? I hope you watched the first few videos I uploaded of my journey from Liberia to Ivory Coast. In Today’s video, I am showing you around Danane, the Ivorian town that served as a home for many Liberians during the Liberian Civil War. What do you remember about this town? I hope you enjoy this video, and please subscribe for more content as you prepare to attend AFCON 2024. 🇨🇮

That's definetly real gold
Danane was a place to be especially for the Liberian refugees. Although I was living in Abidjan cocody before coming to the USA 🇺🇸 but I used to go visit my family and friends in Dan place city. That isn’t a refugee camp, it’s was only a distribution Center because our Liberian people was living in everywhere in the Ivorian people houses. They used to rent their houses to the Liberian refugees as most of their support used to come from their family and friends in America 🇺🇸 etc. finegirl thanks 🙏 for showing us Dan place city 🌆

Wow
Thank you
Wow longtime
The transit center was around Man parking.
Yess
I was there with my mother and sister.
There was no refugee camps in Ivory Coast, Liberians were allowed to live in the community but had to be restricted to living in only Danane not all parts of Ivory coast. The refugee camps were in other neighboring countries Guinea, Sierra Leone, Ghana etc.. lived there in 1999-2001 in Laga de Man (sorry for my pronunciation or spelling of the location).
Can you do buduburam Ghana next . Just want to revisit my childhood 😢.
If you can support me financially to visit, no problem. It’s not cheap to visit Ghana.😊
I grew up in Danane a little bit from 1999-2002
Wow, how was it?
Please can you tell me how many days would it take a person travelling from Abidjan to Monrovia?
If you are using your car with no stops, 1 day is enough. If you are using public transport, it will take you 2 days.
Feels like I am riding thd Bike myself. We appreciate it. Travel safe
Thank you
I lived in Danane during the war, but I lived in Hophoitville.

I’m back home. Maybe next time😊
@@LaurettaBiraneCisse okay fine.
But you are welcome to ugandan where I reside and work. So it will be a pleasure to take you around in uganda 🇺🇬
That was the distribution center
Wow
Yeah. I was there from 1992 to 1997. We went to the distribution center in Yeanglay every month for our rations. Danane never really had refugees camp, it was called transit center around the Man parking.
It's was Nice seeing the area
What’s the name of they guy that’s giving you your please 🙏
0789642940, Apolos
Lauretta please drop the Liberian guy name that’s giving you the tour
Apollo… he’s an Ivorian.
Actually, Danane never had a refugee camp system like they had in Ghana and elsewhere. Liberian refugees that resided there, largely lived in rented properties.
Ah, I can’t wait to visit the camp in Ghana. It holds so much history. Were you at either of the camps you listed?😊
@@LaurettaBiraneCisseYeah we lived in Danane for awhile, but in rented homes. Budubunran camp in Ghana still hosts a large number of Liberians; might be a good visit for you.
That is not the refugee camp
Are you serious? Wow. I just did a quick turn around cuz I was on my way to Liberia. Next time, I’ll spend a few days in Danane. Thanks for letting me know.
He wasted your time. Thanks for the video, tho.
😊😊
