Sarang met her now-husband when he went to Uzbekistan on business. After 3 years of a long distance relationship, they got married in 2010. Her father actually disapproved of the marriage even until the day of their wedding, but she moved to Korea anyway. Is it everything she'd expected it would be?

Her parents were right in their rejection of this relationship. She works so hard and has sacrifice damn near everything and can't even depend on her husband's support. It's a sad situation to see. I hope things improve for this family.
100% true, sadly although we all hope things will improve realistically speaking that woman NEEDS TO LEAVE ASAP. It will never get better--he is set in his ways
@@mina0653 What??? 17 years old??? That would be unacceptable to Koreans. It's shocking, at that age Korean girls would be in high school, preparing for the university entrance exams, and thinking ahead to years of university. Nobody gets married at 17 in Korea. Well that hasn't been a thing since probably the early 80s - in the rural countryside.
And Koreans really object to a large age gap like that. The husband can be at most 10 years older. At least that's how older traditional Koreans see it. I'm Korean, I know. A man of 33 marrying a girl not even of university age is scandalous.
@@AS-yo2uy especially BEFORE she has children with him. i’m sure thats the reason she stays
She was better off without him. Literally.
Bitch you don't know their relationship. Home wreckin ass comment
I have seen all parts of this couple's story and it is now clear that the husband needs to be more supportive of his wife. Both are working hard but the sacrifices this woman is making are just on another level.
@Moon Bae Wow, paying the bills, the bare minimum you have to do in order to not get evicted, sooooo supportive (I'm being sarcastic here). Also just because a person does one nice thing, doesn't mean it absolves then from all the abuse and bad things they've done to others.
If you watched the other parts you would see that he's financially abusing her (takes control of all the money she makes, and gives her incredibly small allowances that barely cover the grocery bills, and then he yells at her to StOp SpEnDiNg MoNeY), she does nearly all of the childcare (and when he does take care of the children, he does a terrible job of it. His daughter, who has a type of food disease, could've gone to the hospital because he gave her things she shouldn't eat), he talks down to her about her hobbies (she likes to belly dance and he keeps nagging her, asking her why she's belly dancing if she isn't getting paid, and to stay at home, because apparently mothers aren't allowed to have hobbies), he keeps pressuring her to be a SAHM when she doesn't want to (and can't do anyways she needs the money). And this is the stuff he's doing on camera. Imagine what he's like off camera. Plus I'm pretty sure he's paying the bills with the money she's making. And she's the one who's saving money for their childrens' education, he isn't saving anything.
God, the bar for men is in hell.
@@a.m4520 I don' think you watched the video too. Lol
He did put 200 for her to get the license, and he said he will do it monthly. And they have 6 months any way for her training as well, so he did what he can do.
@@MA-pb5bc Like I said, just because a person does one nice thing, doesn't absolve them of the abuse and bad things they've inflicted onto others.
In the last parts she described that she works 3 jobs and makes on average 1000 dollars per month, which she then has to hand over to her husband who controls all of the finances. Her husband then gives her incredibly small "allowances", not for her personal enjoyment, but to pay other bills (she can't even spend her own money on herself). For example, he gave her 50 dollars when they went to the market to buy groceries (for 4 people!!) and clothes for their daughter (she wasn't able to buy any clothes for one of her daughters). During this time, her husband kept criticizing her, telling her to "stop spending so much money".
She does most, if not all, the child care in the house (as well as working 3 JOBS!). The one time that he does take care of their daughters, he literally ENDANGERS ONE OF THEM BY GIVING HER FOOD SHE ISN'T SUPPOSED TO EAT. He berates her for having hobbies that don't pay. He pressures her to be a SAHM. But tries to spin it as if he's praising her (that the jobs don't pay her enough for her abilities therefore she should just be a SAHM), nevermind the fact that she likes her jobs and also he's financially abusing her!!
He makes multiple false promises. In this part she describes how he promised her that she would be able to study at university in korea, and yet she still hasn't gone to university. And also, have you considered the fact that he opened that savings account to look good? I mean she said that she used to belly dance back in Ukraine and has expressed for years that she wanted to belly dance in Korea. And yet he hasn't opened a savings account until now (and she couldn't open her own savings account for this because HE'S FINANCIALLY ABUSING HER), during this show. Not even a couple of months before it.
And yet, you're suggesting that since he 'saved' up $200 currently (and apparently will do so for 5 more months, though we'll see if he actually does that), it now absolves him from financially abusing her, barely ever taking care of the children or household chores, constantly criticizing and berating her for petty things (buying groceries and having a hobby), pressuring her to be a SAHM, etc.
@Moon Bae Ah, so you're just going to ignore video evidence of him financially abusing her. And that he's paying the bills with (mostly) her money. I also like how you're not addressing how he doesn't take care of the children at all, doesn't do the household chores, and berates her constantly for wanting to have fun. The lengths you go to defend an abuser.
Either you yourself are an abuser, you're misogynistic and think that it's ok to treat women this way, or you are incredibly gullible and think that just because a person has done one good deed, that means they are incapable of doing bad deeds.
Ted Bundy was nice to multiple women before he murdered them. Do you think that because he treated them well for a couple of seconds, he therefore doesn't deserve jail?
@@a.m4520 You're an idiot. You seem to be creating this fairytale scenario of this man being some kind of wife abuser. Please, just stop commenting.

What impresses me even more, in the previous episode they showed us that she saved around 5000 USD for her daughters. She could have used it to pay for her licence but she didn’t, true mom!!❤
You mean the 4200$ scam 😂
I noticed that also. I wonder if she can use it now and pay it back into her daughters' account once she is earning. Now she is eating time, and time is money. Whereas in 6mos with the license she can be working and earning.
I'm Canadian and it's unimaginable to think that I would leave the comfort of my country to go struggling even more in another country with a husband .

South Korea is a developed country.
They have been together at least ten years and he has not fulfilled his promise to let her study. So he gives her 200 bucks and he is redeemed? The guy is an idiot. He starts a courier business and takes out loans when he has very small kids who need care. That is a job for a single man. He is experienced. He should sell the truck, go work for someone else and have weekends off to raise his kids. They are exhausted from being dragged around. They should be at home playing with an active parent.
exactly. and no offence but belly dancing is NOT education. not even comparable. she should have finished college
10 is nothing ahmed..compared with me nearly 40 years in south east asia!
No, it's 200 every month. Saving up for the license.
he does not even have to "raise" his kids? my ex asean did not,,i did! on my own.,4 of then.and i was younger and smaller sized than this woman..and still raised a granddaughter and had to do odd jobs to survive..as well, even took my then 4 year old with me to work at f%b restaurant.while the older 2 were at primary school, returned in hurry in time for the other older 2 to return home..and start house chores..
what he can do is to take up 2 jobs let this woman stay home, and give her enough money for their necessities ,say 1.500 at least one month..for marketing and cloths.or even home appliance .they can do it..if she is smart.i did ! and my ex gave me only 300,starting and went up to 600.800 and 1000 finally ,after many years.and that also was not enough i had to do sells to make ends meet, pay kids school,,school material..their cloths and shoes.etc..asean men and others are lazy, more than the european man.they want to have it easy..even if they are bigger than the woman..they want it easy..
Damn, must be so hard to stay home with the kids while he is busting his back, literally, to provide. Inb4 "you wouldn't know how hard it is to care for kids and the household!" (Hint: I didn't work for a few months while job hunting and did SAHF duties taking care of a one year old, and prefer that to working even when I was scaling ladders to repair damage to the house in over 100 degree weather, which is something a woman wouldn't do unless she was the sole person in the picture and even that is a BIG maybe versus her just calling a contractor). Women entitlement these days is insane. "He says they are struggling financially, but why wont he spend more money on a sitter, so she can waste money at college and MAYBE work a part time job on the side?! He can just sell his truck, make less money, and take care of the kids on his days off!!!!"
If you actually watched anything other than one video from this, you would know that he couldn't get a job in his field because they don't want to pay him for his experience versus hiring new people to the field. He took up being a truck courier because it was good paying. Do you say this about truckers in any other country that bust their asses off working to put food on the table, a house over his family's head, clothes on their back, and what luxuries can be afforded?
She’s very strong and determined I hope she can do what she want
If she is really determined then she’ll changed her job options. Working in a factory would make her earn more if she is not a full-time teacher. I have been living in Korea for 17 years. There are so many jobs here that will make her earn more as long as she won’t be picky. I have friends who were multicultural teachers who changed their jobs and finally happy with their earnings and be able to do more with their families. Teaching job is good here if you are full-time.

3) or dont get married at all
4) dont have children if u cant take care of urself

I am from Europe and her skills would be enough to be a teacher here. She completed courses as well and she has certificates. I didn’t know that to get a licence you need to pay so much money in Korea. I would understand if it was in a country where the belly dance is from but paying that much in Korea is just insane. Of course she can’t move out and needs the licence but I think it’s unfair for her and it feels like a scam. The rules for the professionals from other countries where certain skills are on the higher level than in Korea are unfair.

For me, when you get married it's because you discover that living with that person makes your life better, not worse. Of course your life was good and peaceful before because you works on it every day, and it is getting even better now with this person.
I hope this show will pay her enough to either separate from her abusive husband or get a license to teach…She works so hard and mostly gets negative feedback from her husband who barely does anything for her or the kids. It’s so frustrating to see him and his fragile male ego think that he alone can hold all the power in the family yet do nothing to actually care for the kids. He isn’t even slightly aware of how much his wife suffers.
One day she will break free this guy is ab asshole ...

She refuses to give up on her dreams and struggles but keeps the faith they will come true, which they will! Its just unfortunate when has a husband that isn't very supportive of her... her endurance is inspiring. I hope her dreams come true soon 💜
It’s honestly so sad to see stories like this, watching this show I’ve seen so many women who were promised by their partners that they would help them get an education or a job if they move to Korea. And then they never fulfill their promises and make up excuses why it can’t happen ‘right now’. These men just wait until the women have kids and then tell them that they should just be housewives knowing that’s not what the women wanted to do. But they’re stuck in a foreign country with kids so at that point they have no choice.
Its a very sad trap.

B. We've lived (and still do) in a patriarchal society for 3000+ years where women were regarded as sub human and not given as many rights as men, and to this day women have to work twice as hard to get the same treatment as men get from society (and in most cases we still don't get an equal treatment). An example, women weren't allowed to own property and have a bank account until 1964. For context, banks have existed since 1694. Another example, women weren't allowed to enter university/college until 1831, and even then most women were largely prevented from entering universities and colleges until the 20th century. That is kinda an insane price but I guess it is for 6 months of training...IMO if she decides to spend that money it's better if she uses it on some other type of education she can get a higher-paying job with. But I admire her efforts to find work wherever she can! Fighting!!
Hope she can find a cheaper program that also doesn't take 6 months. It's her culture and she's a foreigner, which automatically gives her street cred lol.
If she self-teaches in the beginning and put on her own classes (free by donation), then she can build a client base, experience, and money to fund her license. Outdoor space to teach these classes is free and free marketing.
Then when she is certified, she can ask for even higher hourly wage as she can bring her own students. Or rent out studio space.
It can be good money and she can make her own hours.... important given that she runs the household and childcare.
The thing is, as a foreigner it is really hard to find a job in South Korea. I believe getting certified will be the first step towards a better life, more independent I mean. Maybe that way she will change her mind and look for something even better in the future.
Teachers are highly paid in korea wtf you talk about
Any sports or hobby - courses cost a freaking lot in Korea. In Korea I have to pay $300 monthly to train taekwondo... 3 times a week. In Germany f.e. its $30 for 5 times a week.
Korean prices are just out of relation if you ask me.
You may want to rewatch. The $4200 is for the certification so that she can teach dance professionally.
I am doubly surprised that the husband doesn't feel any shame about his (in)ability to provide for his wife and kids. She's sacrificed too much.
Her hard work and dedication brings me to tears. I really wish all the best for this woman.

I never would pay for a certificate. Rather open a own small studio would be better for her I guess.
That's what he's afraid of...
why is she doing laundry by hand? this is driving me nuts how hard this woman works
She should use the money she saved for the kids to take the lessons and get the license then after she gets her license and steady work, she can start saving for her kids again
And why is the mom not going to thrift shops to buy kids clothing
In some countries thrifting isn't really a thing
@@cassiepathak More like some areas, you have to go out of your way to thrift shop.
It will be a risky gamble.Even if she get a license south korea is not good with belly dance. So it will be wise either return to Uzbekistan or be a interpreter.🙂
Thrift shops don't exist in Korea. It's considered to be bad luck, because Korea has a superstition that people's bad energies can be absorbed into items that they previously owned. Plus, you can find clothing that's super cheap there, like $5 an article of clothing, even if it's brand new.
Sarang may work from home writing the subtitle in persian for the company which export their contents to the persian-speaker countries.
Subtitle is a kind of short sentences, just for understanding what people said in the vdo.
It’s sucks that her husband isn’t supporting her the way a husband should. She deserves way better.
@@a.m4520 Love your comment!!❗️why is the bar for men so low?? The bar is in hell
Are you delusional? $4000 is a lot of fucking money, you gold diggers. Can she guarantee that she’ll actually work as a belly dance teacher? No. What if that money goes down the sink?
He had a good job in computer science but got laid off. In Korea it’s hard to find job in professional field after certain age. I think he wants to make sure he can provide basics like housing, car, other necessary bills long term - bc even that is not easy with blue collar truck delivery job. His heart is a there, just not enough money to go around.
The bar for wimin is in hell too, they think just opening up the legs means a man owes her $10k/month for the rest of this life.
How do I watch all the episodes? Is there an app or....
Certificate of completion doesn't matter at all. Coming from the USA. I have 3 certificates and it got me nowhere. CDL, welding, and EKG technician. I've given up.
Please do an update
... that's so brutal... $4k...
certified bellydancer, crazy country.
This makes me somehow so so sad.. just how much she is doing, that life….
She belly dances for him and he gets annoyed 😑 … this man !!
Hey K Doc, she can work at home as a translator or a call center agent internationally or as a teacher. Do you have any way to tell her about this or is there any way for me to reach her? I work part time as english translator and also as an english teacher for korean children.
What is the song she sings when she does the laudry?
When you choose love over rational and practical thinking, don't listen to sound advice of your parents then this is bound to happen. India is riddled with stories similar to this.
I hope this show payed HER. Not the husband so she can get her license
any updates on this family?
Whats the song name at 4:10? I really like it
Its better for her to leave her husbond and go to europe with her kids she will be free and stress free
Nope...kids can't leave the airport without both parent's consent. There will be legal issues. The husband is not going give up his custody rights.
But the cost of that was really extreme
Women can sacrifice alot but when they have enough of the man bs they will walk away not looking back. This woman is so strong and independent and goves more than they guy in the relationship. The husband don't deserve her. He needs to grow, step up and man up for his wife and family.
I hope she becomes the instructor that she wanted.
The show is making so much off her story maybe they can pay for it?? Also I have watched all parts and I am so thankful I married a loving and provider man.... wheww the struggle... I couldn't do this.
He doesn't deserve her!
4200 dollars ? you have got to be kidding me.
She should have listned to her FATHER. ALL YOU NEED IS LOVEEEE....but thATs just for hollywood... REAL LIFE Just Love is not enough to feed and health safty or BETTER quality if life.. wat ever.. ...
The family is clearly struggling with money. Everyone in the comments acting like the husband doesn't work at all and keeps the money all to himself. He works too and pays for everything. Y'all are sick to think that you can judge someone just like that.
And apparently with your mindset having lots of money = true love...... oh you sweet child, real life is going to hit you hard if you marry for money.
The fact u need a belly dancing license is RIDICULOUS
I guess it's much better to live in Uzbekistan 😁😂 get license for cheap price there
Well yeah but I’m pretty sure she needs a Korean license. But I think if she have an existing foreign license, training period would probably be shorter or just straight to getting a Korean license.
Someone here said there was an update to this story where things got better, the idiot husband got something of a clue and the wife has a better. Can you show us the link so we see this story hopefully ends well?
Please
What belly dancers license? And why the hell does it cost that much? Wtf is she trying to do? Dance at the Ritz?
Many jobs require or want you to be licensed. She wants to teach her passion "belly dancing" to others, so she needs a license. I feel like those people are scamming her though, 4,200 for a license? Never heard of it and she's only training for 6 months. Anything between 2,500 and 2,000 is reasonable in my opinion.
Do you know dance? She was out of practice and did better than the instructor. She is beautiful and authentic. She would get a lot of gigs with her work ethic.
@@alisonfraser8231 I've been bellydancing for years. She was better than her instructed. Ok and? To pay thousands of dollars seems like a scam to me. And you don't have to be licensed to teach belly Dance or to dance. Scam likely.
I think to make everything succeed then everything around her should care not just the husband but for their own children, is it? After spending the money to buy food, seems like they have not much left for anything else.
Make a go fund me for her!
Living in Seoul without a job and money is absolutely stupid. Sorry.
what do you mean? She's working in 3 jobs at the same time?
How is she doing now. Any idea. This woman is a great lady. Hope everything is alright now.
