Have found many employers say they need someone to work independently and they mean you will get NO instruction on how to do this job. How do I avoid "sink or swim" offices and make sure I will get training? Maybe a future video.

One important thing to know about the boss is to know, if he/she wants win-lose solutions or win-win solutions. It has became clear to me niw in my place that my boss wants to use her power and „beat“ people, to win the battle. This means that there is a constant battle in our office. I noticed this because I gave her ideas for more peaceful solutions but she did not want to take it. I wondered, if my idea was stupid, after all, but then I realised that she WANTS that battle! She wants disharmony, creatws it or keeps it on and then blame others about it etc.

Hi Andy, So what happens if the recruiting personnel says, that's proprietary information, or, that's P&C? Would that indicate the person may not be the easiest to work with?

Ask them to give you some frame of reference. There are some legitimately private pieces of information a company might not want to disclose.

Thank you! This is great! If I ask what is their philosophy as a boss, I hope that they also act as they talk. My boss now say that she lisstens to people. No, she does not! She does not seem to understand that hearing is not listening. (We must deal with the habitants of the city, we plan the city).
The place where I applied now and expect for an interview, they are actually also seeking for a person who would become my boss!!!! So I do not have a boss from whom to ask anything. But I can tell them that I can be a boss. I actually do not need a boss. Just to know what I need to do, then I do it. I do not need bosses around really. 🤔

Don't just ask philosophy! Ask for examples of how they work with people too!

    What is a micromanager?
I am applying a new job. This one that I have has many good things but I am unhappy. My boss is unable to create realistic schedules. She gives tasks but not time to make any properly. It is tough to keep boundaries. When she is in the meetings, she does other works on the phone or on the laptop. Etc. She SAYS that she supports for example me, but her ACTIONS tell otherwise. I am angry all the time at work!
Except now. Because she had surgery, she has three months sick holidays and everyone is reliefed. Now we can WORK, not just hang in meetings. But, she is working even she has sick holidays, but not so much interfearing.
Her kind of work method just makes me so nervous that I cannot imagine to stay there longer. I am more focused on one subject at the time and for me, it is the most effective way to get work done. Now, the most stressful factor is that nothing is done, one hour this and one hour that and then the meeting and… whatever.

Sanna, a micromanager is someone who is excessively and constantly on top of you to see what you're doing. Lots of check points to make sure you are working!

Why did the last guy leave...?
If you are looking for a person with all his skills, did you do anything to attempt to retain him.?
How am I supposed to walk in & know how to use your proprietary software.?
When you say "We will give you a raise in 6 months"..., could we do that now, instead.?.....' Cause I've heard that 6 months crap before.

I went on tons of zoom interviews and the majority of the time they are not comfortable with Asians in a sales roles and don't read my resume. How do you handle discrimination?

You really cannot know for sure because some employers don't always give the most honest answers and may not be aware of what happens in some departments.

Sometimes but you can ask the questions to dig and keep digging!
