If you watch around the 03:40 mark, it looks like the artist applied water to some very light pencil applications and brushed them out to very subtle shapes. It's hard to see the pencil marks until the wet brush activates them
Lovely demonstration. Will try the koi, also thinking that perhaps this approach will work for hummingbirds. Thanks for posting.
