Agree! Roofs are questionable. The 2 downstairs bedrooms should be a library and the other the kitchen/laundry. The small bedroom upstairs should be a bathroom. The basement cellar is great for wine and a root cellar. Great during hot summer days. The grounds/yard is wonderful for a village house. The possibilities for a pool, gardens, small orchard, outdoor entertaining are endless. Between improvements and notaire fees the cost will be double the asking price. However, it is very livable as the work is done over time.

Chateau is the French word for castle. This is not a castle it is the "house of the master."
It does need some work but ideal for a large family.
