Very, very nice. Don’t worry man, you don’t need to be sorry for getting excited, that is what we are here for. Also the song itself is definitely highly recommended

This is a little more technical than the previous NW drum cams you've done. It was a great joy to watch. Kai uses the "open hand" technique and he is a real "octopussy" like every great drummer nowadays has to be. He has exactly the same kit both side of him (mirrorlike).
I can't be never reach this level 😟.

He’s a beast for sure! Now you should listen to the whole song at Tampere. 🤙🔥

@@PositiveCrunch Sweet! It's awesome that I subscribed to you as a Nightwish reactor, but if I've learned anything from YT Reactors, I always find each reactor has something unique about bands and songs that I've heard many times. So I'm not sure how far back I subscribed, but I've never seen drum cams before and I appreciated your insights to previous uploads. Thanks again and glad to join you on your journey towards new subscribers that also enjoy your content.

    great reaction!
you've seen the drum cam on Shudder Before the Beautiful, you should definitely check out the full version of both that song and this one live at Wembley or Tampere.
it's so awesome that you can hear the crowd singing along much better in the drum cam vids, they don't pick up as well in the full versions.

I believe the term is "High Priest of the Rhythmic Noise". If I am not mistaken.

Great to see Kai smiling while playing. He knows he's got it under control. Not tired at all.

One of Kai's biggest idols is Nicko McBrain, as said by the man himself, but the way he keeps time is so tight, that he always makes me think of Ian Paice.

This is what I love about Nightwish's drumming, it is primarily musical, unlike other bands that think that great drumming is battering the double bass drums to death making it sound like a machine gun on full auto.

Check out his older stuff with Rotten Sound - "Obey", and their Meshuggah cover of "War" are insane. There are also some Roland e-drum demos to show completely different side of his playing. He must be one of the best drummers in the world, and now with Nightwish, he is like part-time pensioner =)
My all time favorite is still Jukka. Jukka's energy was so great, and I really liked everything he did behind drums. Jukka had great awareness to play what song needed. Kai is a bit like Nicko, but more metal version.

Human metronome Dr. K.H did four different rhythms at the same time here and the fill...bruh...ruined me lol. Kai must have eaten 6-8 cups of Magnum ice cream before the show started. As someone who grew up listening to AC/DC, I can affirm your statement, "The best grooves are the most simple ones." No worries, those downvotes are from The Rangers lol.

Fun fact: Nightwish has never had a human drummer.
Nevalainen was an animal, Hahto is a machine.

Ian Paice - Kai Hahto and John Bonham - Jukka Nevalainen, that is what i think and what and Marco Hietala said in an interview.

"Please learn the setlist..." I think it was on there that Marco made that commentary. I think the same. I love Paice, and the way Kai keeps the time always takes me back to Ian Paice.

I wonder what sandy Nelson would make of modern day drummers

    • @PositiveCrunch
      @PositiveCrunch  4 роки тому +1

Oh Wow!! You speak of the 60's Rock Legend Drummer Sandy Nelson? I tip my hat to you my Friend. I don't know, I feel like he would appreciate a great majority, but who knows. I mean in terms, most drummers are Jazz Based at the core. Even if they don't know it or understand it. I feel like a guy like him or Buddy Rich would be very receptive to this because they were so versatile. While a guy like DJ Fontana may not be. But Hey, DJ didn't like using his own Bass Drum. But, A super cool dude.
Man, You have poked my mind with this question. I was thinking the other day how I would love to somehow mention and tie in some of the Greats just like Sandy or Guys like Hal Blaine, Earl Palmer, & Jim Gordon of The Wrecking Crew..
Man, This was the Comment of the day for me. "Let there be Drums"

Yeah, Nico McBrain is a legend but for me the greatest is Neil Peart. It's extremely difficult though to separate those legends - they are all magnificent.

I can't argue... We have a Neil Peart DC video coming out next week
