Mozart's 'Queen of the Night' would be a minor warmup exercise to this singer. My God, she can go higher than any other I've heard so far. Plexeglass shattering!
As well as the flawless vocals, think of the athletics of the presentation. A singer fills their lungs form the diaphragm up with only the tiniest movement of their shoulders. And any word beginning with a vowel (say as in her performance of the aria Queen of the Night) is completely activated by the diaphram with tiny, rapid expulsions of air past the vocal chords......with minimal exterior evidence of the work. Whereas words beginning with a consonant are initiated by the tongue, mouth and jaw and supported throughout the phrase by the diaphragm. Hard work. So singers are athletes!
inhuman perfection. there is not a single mistake or off moment, in not the tiniest detail. which is something most singers struggle to achieve in much easier songs.
I am so in love with Dessay's Bell Song but it also makes me feel like 'why doesn't this happen when I open my mouth?' 8/
Wow...this has to be one of the most difficult soprano arias ever. And Natalie Dessay owns it.
Its like she is barely being challenged
In my opinion, this is the best rendition of this aria of all time.
Why was not ovation or inmediate applauses when she finished?
Unbelievable

I can't understand why some people said that Diana Damrau is better. In which life?????

Monumental.. even if only this existed it would be enough to hail Dessay the greatest light coloratura soprano of the last 30 years

Her voice is just so hauntingly beautiful. How am I just discovering her now.
Her voice is unearthly, like it breaks sound barriers. The legato combined with the coloratura is unmatched.
One of the most beautiful voices in this world!!!
She is the greatest soprano with incomparable controlling power to her voice & vocals.
What Dessay achieved in this aria is greater than entire career of many so called coloratura sopranos...
She is the voice of all universe, everything must be silent
Absolutely beautiful, strong and moving rendition. I completely surrendered.
Voice is not its own instrument. The resonance of the venue itself is what is being played :) This is a masterpiece.
