so happy to see tri hero caster/tauren or tri hero /caster/wyvern but you mixed both cuz its not 3v3 RoC but 1v1v1v1 FFA i could never get into FFA... last time i GENUINELY gave it a go was back on RoC when it SHOWED PEOPLES' account names... so the second people saw your name they'd whisper each other and secretly team up. then they'd "team up with you" and feed the other people info to maximize damage.... it was miserable. i went 3-0 and quit forever. then a patch came out stating that FFA would no longer show player names. so i'd smurf every once in a blue moon to play and it just seemed like i was AWLAYS the one player to get consistently 2v1'd or 3v1'd. i'd be creeping or fast expo'ing only to be Creep jacked on lets say Gnoll Wood. the second i HAVE to TP OUT the only logical place to go is either mid (if its a health fountain, otherwise you're boned) RoC didn't have healing outside of neutral shops with health scroll, healing fountains, orc's healing ward, human's priest heal, newbelf's moonjuice, or undead's VERY INSIGNIFICANT BLIGHT REGEN OR DK's Death pact... which only healed him... when you needed Coil and Unholy Aura. Not going Coil for Coil Nova nukes = BAD. not going unholy aura = never gonna escape NOR catch up to enemies. in the rare situation you went 3 hero, you had to pick between 2 options. full blown nuke (Coil Nova Carrion/vamp aura) OR semi control w/ sleep to prevent last second holy lights, last second thunderbolts or any enemy abilities. similar to how you can now dodge them with casting spells, or tping, or using invuln potion. one of the MAIN THINGS i dislike about WC3R - idk any main channels... idk where to go to talk to anyone or find ppl to play with (US East) post game, i can't compliment opponent if we just finished playing 1v1 so i can no longer find a 2s partner in solo queue... same deal with 2v2 RT i imagine... cuz you're forced to play with someone random who may be playing their FIRST EVER wc3 GAME vs a team who has played together for the past 25 years. All i know is if I was still in touch with my main 2s partner from RoC (i even remember his real name, Jeff, back when real names were NOT GIVEN OUT DUE TO "STRANGER DANGER" days!) lmao he and i went 42-0 in 2v2 AT US East as dual random, got rank 1. while also getting rank 2 and rank 3 with our other accts or it would be one of our accts from rank 1 + 1 smurf for rank 2, vice versa for rank 3. had rank 2 with Random(my main acct was random only)/Orc - his smurf then rank 3 we'd mix it up and veto certain maps depending on what we felt like doing. We had troll accounts too for troll builds such as Tower creepin or burrow creeping. We'd go Human/Orc (sometimes we'd switch if we got bored) but i LOVED playin Orc on Lost Temple in 2v2 and sending peon IMMEDIATELY to expo ramp and build altar as its otw since you typically build altar/burrow immediately in your peon line. then take peon and lure it to burrow while sending 2-3 more to lower hp of the camp at expo while keeping 3 in and 1 to repair or send to re-aggro. by the time hero popped it was all at 10-25% hp. ezpz. then run mid to green camp go uphill and attack -> summon wolves -> move FS that way the two lvl1 ranged would miss 33.3% of the time beautiful days. Meanwhile human would use 2-3 peasants to power build altar, sometimes 4, while building farm and at a certain hp on altar you'd send a 2nd worker from altar to farm to power build it so they finish simultaneously. continuously build workers to gather wood, get a semi-late barracks but the point was to FAST creep your expo with militia and BLIZZARD (no water elementals since back then, i do NOT remember any tome of retraining... someone correct me if i'm wrong but i do NOT remember any Tome of retraining in patch 1.05 and before) anyway, the best way to do this is to attack with your AM, move back 1-2 "units" in terms of space on map, sorta like how "pixels" are screen space, "wc3 units" were map measurements.
then you ran your militia in front of AM to tank the ogre. and cast blizzard. manually moving 2 militia to each zerker troll and 2 on ogre.5 would build expo 1 would build farm (let's say you're in the south base) so you'd build it north of expo, between your base and let's say my base - aka ally - is to the left, it would bebetween our bases for scouting and then from there the third farm would be to the right -> outside red camp, back in the day when you NEEDED to clear camp in order to get zeppelin. That's why Tower builds were SO BIG on RoC and pre-armor change on FT from fortified to "Heavy armor" and certain units like casters going to "Unarmored" from "Medium" cuz ppl used to call Wc3 "Caster Craft" since pretty much NOTHING would counter tri hero-casters once they got there. not even air like ghoul/garg/tri hero. or fiend/garg dual hero. Gotta semi-agree with the armor change on Orc and HU casters. As for newbelf, DRYADS DESPARATELY NEEDED NERFING because that "magic immunity" was ridiculous enough on top of armor laming... back then there were VERY few options in terms of armor and attack. buildings were ALL fortified. tanks/mortars/catapults/glaives/meatwagons = siege damage. gryphons/frostwyrmms/chimaera did piercing til chims got the siege upgrade vs building and wyrms could freeze buildings vis-a-vi frost upgrade. Wyverns were HEAVILY NERFED in FT - idk if they utterly TANKED their HP or it was a combo of lowering hp and armor change because i can NOT tell you how many wins I got in both solo and 2v2 AT with going FS/TC/Wyvern to start and then if it was a late game, i'd go into casters typically i'd either go one or the other first. such as Lodge-> Shaman upgrade 1 -> build 4 shaman -> Master upgrade, that way the 4 shaman had full mana and could lust your entire army. AND drop lightning shield onto archers/fiends/rifles. Same with witch doctors only you'd use the time between upgrade 1 and 2 to drop vision wards, but you'd save mana for big battles. i'm talking 2v2 battles, where you'd make sure you did NOT overlap stasis. i got so good at placing wards JUST ENOUGH apart that once they got stunned, and tried to move, BOOM, stunned again, and the second these wards were triggered, replacements went down. I'd also find ways to sneak (i.e. sorc's invis, just like he'd Invis his MK and my TC to get behind their back line and/or heroes to nuke their heroes, such as lusted wyverns/fs/tc, inner fire and i'd go chain/wave on their army, lightning shield on my TC and their ranged, purge hero i was focusing on with wyvs who were 3-1 with psn at this point, and his MK would only come out of invis at 40-50% enemy hero HP to BOLT>CLAP>Focus fire and byebye hero. We'd do similar strats with UD/Human, but he'd invis his MK, and they'd think he went Am/Pally, rifle/caster/mortar. DK/Lich/Fiends 2-2 or if i went t3, i'd go DkLich 3-3 fiends with either gargs or Wyrms. depending on if i could get a safe expo. Since he was human, it was expo to fast expo with normal build, 2-3 footies, hero, 5-6 militia; 5 to build expo, 1 to put a scout farm down, then come back and start building towers. Then he'd go get lvl3 OR instantly try to creepjack them OR go for enemy orc burrows, enemy elf wisp, enemy ud acolytes (or their ghouls, he'd almost always go ghouls first since replacing them would 100% halt army production, and prevent ALL wood income and once ghouls were down, he'd either go for acolytes or zigs.) To make this worse, I'd creep jack the UD to keep him from attacking, leaving their ally unsure of where to go, if he TP'd to help save UD base, jeff would go out of vision, then badabing badaboom, over to enemy base. Anyway, going back or our Hu/Orc troll build, it would basically be building Towers JUST outside of creep camp vision (aggro range) lure them out and creep them. This was also before towers killing or getting last hit = exp not going to hero. which was brutal. when that started to happen you'd just hotkey the towers at that location as 2 and your heroes as 1. once you got close to killing, press 2 spam S (stop) and make sure heroes got last hit. FS/TC/BM/Raiders + ensnare + pillage + spikes + towers in MASS EVERY WHERE. On Gnollwood was another top shelf place to tower creep. You could "FE creep" the expo outside of the base if you were top right (where one of the red camps were_ or FAR LEFT (where 2nd of 3 red camps were) or 6pm/5pm either of those bases. where 6pm had last red camp. Anyway, you wouldn't exactly EXPO unless you COULD get away with it. You'd have to get 200/100 or 200/200 froom orc ally in order to expo and upgrade to t2 same time + not worry about resources for towers or whatever. 2nd camp would be merc camp AFTER contesting mid or stealing mid. You could tell if it was HP or Mana fountain start of game by looking at it in the fog of war, and you can see if its a dark blue or SUPER DARK BLUE-PURPLE (health // mana) - they were SUPER obvious. For health fountain games, i'd send my merc camp peons to go tower it up while he power crept mid, i'd send my first wolves one to the left, one to the right, after summoning them from the mid so they wouldn't know where they came from. I could typically tell (IF THE OPPONENT SCOUTED in 1v1) based on map which base they were, based on WHEN their unit showed up, based off whether it was a wisp, aco, peon, militia/peasant (did it JUST turn into a peasant or was it ALREADY a peasant and how long as it been one. if its a peasant coming down from top ramp then they were either cross map or (since you're on the left) they'd be cross map 80% of the time or bottom 20% of time. i played SO MUCH Lost Temple i memorized creep orders/patterns of every race, certain builds of each race, and further more, certain patterns of certain PLAYERS. there was one guy i semi-felt bad for but since he used to always trash talk me, accuse me of being a hacker... and the fact i would NEVER HEARD THE END OF IT if I just "left the game" even though it was early in the morning, i had been up all night.... Poor guy had lost EVERY single match against me and ima be real with you guys... idk HOW he lost to me consistently. Back when ppl had access to replays... that one website WCR where "VODs" were a thing, where people today do it now on youtube or twitch - i.e. watching replays and explaining what's going on, why this and that is happening so on so forth. Well this happened back in the day too on WCR (its where Phreak got his "big break" among some other "shout casters" as they were called back then). So you had access to at least 2-3 websites, the main one and a couple rip off/wannabe sites. Your OWN replay save files.. where you could see what opponent did at X Y Z time... their build, etc. AS WELL AS OPPONENTS WHO UPLOADED REPLAYS ON WCR (i seriously think that was the site for RoC and TFT) The one that was exclusively RoC was a community website called "YeOldePubSiut" - where ..lol .. there was a prank call of this one kid named "AngeiofLight" but he made the i capital so it looked like Angel of Light. omg.. idk HOW they got his phone # or WHO prank called him (this was late 90s early 2000s mindset of 18-20 year olds, i was young, i was just passin my 11th-12th sun trip when i bought RoC. pretending to be an 18 yr old to get into guilds. plus back then I could fake my age easily since there were not voice chats AT THE TIME; there WAS Ventrilo/TeamSpeak/Bumble and some other things... but i could just say i don't have a mic. i finally got one though... it was one of those PoS mics that had a base for your desk, then it would stick up into your face. so ugly. Anyway, me and my 2s partner never needed it since we had played SO MUCH with one another on my first acct that had around 1700 orc games or 1800 games total (i was less than 100 from thrall icon), around 800 ud games, almost had the 750 icon. then hu/ne icons were close to the 500. Random was less than 220 games from Deathwing. so sad.
ugh sorry tangents. The POINT of that HU/ORC build was Raiders/FS/TC/BM = ensnare repair workers, raiders+pillage = resources while sniping bases, zigs/mw/farm/burrow, mains to prevent tp, goldmines to prevent mining, AoW/Rax/Crypts/etc. you get the idea. Human would go 3-3 tanks, while i went 3-3 raiders. Going back to GW- if it was Health fountain, i'd start pulling it out and putting my FS in the health fountain and 2s partner would be on the way, he'd blizz while i'd summon wolves if our opponents were either scouted once or none (if they weren't directlynext to us. plus on GW they had to be in one spot no matter what. We'd had TONS of towers in base, expos, etc. Constantly creep jack them with blizz/ensnare or he'd blizz harass peon line. while i would go attack their base and they could either TP back to save it or lose a TON of workers. TOO MANY PPL did NOT MICRO BACK THEN.. only the top 10 knew how to micro... anyway back to that nightelf who always lost to me one morning after playin for 18-24 hrs.... he seriously BEGGED me to let him win.... i thought he was trolling ... he kept saying "bro pls let me win just ONCE, the sooner you leave the easier it is to convince ppl that i didn't BEAT YOU and that you could tell ppl i begged to get the win and we can both save replay and show everyone that i begged and you gave it." i didn't trust him... had i TRUSTED HIM he would have had a MUCH HIGHER CHANCE of getting a free win... but he would have to play for it. and if i felt like he did as best as he could, i'd leave. i NEVER believed in free wins or win trading... or gah help me.. the hideousness of ladder that activision created when AMM turned into ELL due to all the forum freaks crying 24/7 instead of getting better at the game, they blamed their utter inadequacy and lack of being able to win 2-3 games in a row on SMURFS... the reason they were all HARD STUCK at lvl12 was SOLELY due to smurfs..... not true. at lvl12 you started to actually HAVE TO WIN CONSECUTIVE GAMES IN ORDER TO LEVEL UP and CONTNUE LEVELING UP. It was something like match making was +/- 5 or 7 levels of your account. so if you were 20, you could be vs a 15 or 25, or a 13-27 i can't remember which one it was. if you beat someone higher lvl than you, you'd get TONS of exp. if you lost to someone at MAX lvl difference... man OH MAN, you'd looose SOOOO MUCH EXP. not to mention if you were AFK for long periods of time there was a thing called "EXP Decay" from account inactivity. i think i got hit by exp decay ONCE and never again, it almost took me from 20 (almost 21) down to one loss from 19.... it was brutal. But all those people constantly whining on forums were "listened to" since back then blizz actually had employees on the forums.. and yeah. Prior to ELL that was released with patch 1.15, you could go 25-0 and only be level 10 account. Post 1.15 and ELL to get level 10 you could lose as many games as you wanted and it wouldn't do jack to your exp loss... you could go like 9-9 and be lvl12 or so. or have 15 wins with 30 losses and be lvl10 or higher, most likely higher. I just remember being 37-0 in solo at release of FT and i was lvl25 which was OUTRAGEOUS TO ME. you have to understand it took me a LOOOOOONG TIME and a LOT OF GAMES for my first ever account to not only hit lvl12, but to pass the 12 skill test, next skill test was hitting lvl20. took me all summer on that account. and i was SO HAPPY because I felt like I TRULY ACHIEVED SOMETHING IN THE GAME. Since, as i said, IF YOU LOST A GAME OR MULTIPLE GAMES IN A ROW YOU COULD LOSE YOUR LVL and YES, I DID lose my level at least 2-3 times on that acct in my quest to lvl20. but when I finally hit lvl20 i was BEYOND HAPPY. I think the w/l was garbage low 80%s but nonetheless.. What was birthed post 1.15 ruined ladder for me. IF you played regularly you would be stuck in "match making hell" because NO ONE would play that way. Everyone back then found out if you made an account, went 0-20, you could go 100-20, then 100-40 then 250-40 and since losing 20 games in a row didn't bother your exp loss AT ALL, you'd be around lvl36-40 with 250-40 w/l ratio.... undeserved. since the people you were playing against were people who were also coming off 20 loss streaks or long loss streaks (some longer some shorter) but nonetheless the games lasted maybe 5-10min... sad days. Only thing that made FT worse was the hack called "zMap" which included a Maphack (obviously), a rather cool "Micro Hack" where you could set your units' hp% and have it pull back or burrow if you had it researched, and who knows what else but the BIGGEST NO NO was the fact it had disconnect hack.... the same hack that came in various forms that Blizzard denied for OVER A DECADE Saying "there's NO SUCH THING AS A DISC HACK" - i think they worded it in that way to have "plausible deniability" to claim they thought we meant disc = the cd, but we explained IN DETAIL that we did NOT mean the CD but the actual fact we'd be winning and BOOP, D/C'd DROPPED INSTA-LOSS, NO REPLAY, NO PROOF. Such BS... I'll never forget my first tournament loss i had on my UD only account that was a total of 147-0 in tournament only. Played with my FT 2s partner (who i got rank 1 in 2s AT with many years in a row as dual human, wish i could figure out how to get in touch with him and check to see if hes still alive.. he was barely in his 20s and was prescribed an extremely HIGH DOSE of Seroquel at the time. AND i think Ambien... so i worried bout him then and to this day even though he's probably forgotten me)... Anyway, we had many funny strats on RoC (me/jeff) as well as many funny strats on ft (me and my broski that i can't recall at all atm)
lol shin kicking fights. that sounds semi-wholesome until you remember just how BAD it sucks to get kicked in the shin or if you've skateboarded then you know what its like to take a board edge to the shin... or a ledge from concrete. but yeah i'd say that's a rather WHOLESOME way to go about "fighting" because ALL the fights i got into we threw hands.. even me and my best friends... hell, even otw the lunch we'd get into a fight, over something SMALL, like always throw hands for a minute or so, then be huffing and gruffing to lunch, get our lunch and LOL SIT NEXT TO EACH OTHER back to best friends in less than 7 hands. i saw in your twitch comments; someone said you have an amazing childhood memory or he just had nothing but bad ones. that's sad for that guy :( but yeah... i have an excellent memory when it comes to certain things and an absolute HORRIBLE memory when it comes to other things. i.e. I can tell you a build order for every race, in every match up on EVERY MAP in RoC and TFT from FT's release to 1.20d I can tell you dreams I had when i was 1-4 yrs old, childhood memories. like the first time i crawled out towards the road, idk how i got out there, but i know my oldman lit my butt up when we got inside, even tho he was more upset at himself and my mom for letting a 2 year old find a way to sneak out the house. and see, that's what i mean, IDK HOW I GOT OUT THERE and i KNEW not to go in the road but i distinctly remember the feeling of the road's asphalt on my baby soft skin hands as i placed one down, then the other, went for a third and boom SCOOPED UP, yelling, spankin, lololol. or when my sister would throw knives at me and chase me like a serial killer but she "doesn't remember" its wild how SHE "doesn't remember" 90% of our childhood, teens, 20s, 30s, etc and shes only 5 yrs older than me.... she's so different now. so fake. but i can't tell you anything about LoL builds or DOTA2 builds or hero names for DOTA2... can't tell you 95% about WoW esp now that the expo has released when i pre-ordered it 2 months ago... only for me to realize i got it too early. as for fights i can tell you blow-by-blow recaps of ALL my fights...
when you were fighting mid, you should have pulled dragon out of fountain of health range move your bm and ranged into range and kill it with the dragon closer to your base. did that all the time on gnollwood and any other map with health fountains with dragons.
Grubbs, I loved the AOE4 content you posted way back in the day. Are you returning to that franchise anytime? There's a new patch dropping tonight with civ changes and most notably a quick match FFA option.
Marketplaces gets a new random item over time, if there is no empty space, it shuffles one item away for the new one. I think thats what happened for your True Shot Aura flute.
Parple was sneaky. Standing with 100 food in a towered up base. I bet he wins many games that way. You think he went afk and you have to mop up the farms. BUT THEN you lose your entire army in his base. Even with your macro the bank at the end was starting to run dry.
Grubby, I think someone from your village watched "Who Am I", starring Jackie Chan. There's a scene, where Jackie and some goon start rapid-kicking each other in the shins for like solid fifteen seconds. Maybe this is the origin?
You need to WW and Bladestorm his back line near the end with Purple. And is Pillage on during this time? probably help a lot during low times of getting gold or lumber
Arab. That says it all. Here in the states if you are more than a year older it is just bullying. The truth is if you gotta fight a bully more than twice a year then you are gonna have to do it until you become the bad guy unless you fight someone with a similar moral compass and in that case it’s possible to become friends later. Otherwise they just pull you down until you are as bad as they are and there is no winning even if you always win.
Something that will never not be funny to me Is the interaction between Hex and Orb of Lightning. The unit is hexed and then purged but it stands still like not understanding exactly what happened to them. Edit: 53:00 did the ends justify the means when the DR suicided herself only to steal a Batrider to kill another one? Didn't seem worth it but who knows.
Hey Grubby the kind of ritualized fight you are talking of is called a "comment fight". And btw some animals in fact do damage to their reproductive organs, even with full intent. For example Llamas try to bite off each others testicles so they have their competition gone. So some animals are indeed extremely fierce about it, not just obvious animals like Lions et al.
4:40 ah yes. The more aged cousin of someone called Iran. Not surprised (we have that kind of people in France) but surprised he was alone and that there were no head stomping on the bitume (you read me right). Indeed it was an educated familly compared to the average.
at the start of your video: [LEGENDARY] NEVER. GIVE. UP. - WC3 - Grubby you complained about people not understanding the matchmaking 50/50 ratio yet in your video here you are complaining about the matchmaking setting you against a 15 years old , after you defeated a 10 yrs old. I am dissapointed.
+2 MMR?? Lmao dude what an actual joke. at this point there's nothing in the game except the sheer enjoyment of it if you got the skill to pull it off i guess. i tried some campaign chill yesterday and i swear literally every single mission reforged reared its ugly head at me with some weird bugs, even though i played it on classic setting. medivh circling back to sit on top of arthas after firmly saying "i've wasted my time here" mal'ganis missing from the cutscene where he introduces himself. arthas not doing his hammer pose at the end of the stratholme map. muradin tucked away behind the dialogue box during one of the northrend cutscenes. captain icon having a knight icon animating during cutscene. kel'thuzad icon colors all ****ed up and glitchy. adding unit to subgroup caused arthas' icon to animate as if i clicked him, but speaking with the new units voice. and then, the grand finale, the end campaign cinematic having the in-game map music playing over it. i rage-quit the cinematic to restart it without the music and on the mission selection screen the end-game cinematic was on top of mission 2 of the human campaign rather than at the bottom under the "frostmourne" map. ugh. i went to the forums to complain and even the god damn forum front page has the "WARCRAFT III REFORGED" colors glitched out. just perfect. 10/10 at this point my only motivation for continuing my campaign is seeing how many more bugs i can encounter for a cheap chuckle.
Last 20 minutes of this game = solid shin kicking.
hi mate! Rn I'm only learning English and genuinely interested what does last phrase mean? Like doing nothing or?...

53:54 Rare treat of Grubby almost losing his marbles.
me so afraid when grubby talks like that
i mean come on, thats 2 MMR for a 50+ mins game. understandable tbh
In his defense the MMR is broke asf
Grubby:"it doesnt matter where he came from."
also Grubby:"His name was Iran"
beautiful
Is it just me or when grubby says “I should buy a shredder” it always reminds me of the meme with the cat that says “I should buy a boat”
Grubby mentioning Charlie was definitely not on my bingo card today
Talking about getting your shins kicked while the Granite golem camp is doing exactly that to your lvl 3 BM and 4 hh is priceless serendipity
42:44 You seem happy with that Staff of silence drop, beautiful voice by the way !
Loved this. I dont watch this religiously, but I used to play this game all the time. Always hits me in the feels
That is so impressive, im glad this was uploaded i only had time to watch half of it live. And what a cool second half of the game.
As a Dutch, we all have our "inclusive" stories of, "you and I fight, and if I lose you get ganged".
My WC3 ASMR as I code has randomly gained shin kicking stories

Grubby had the Neo vs Anderson fight with only shin kicking
so happy to see tri hero caster/tauren or tri hero /caster/wyvern
but you mixed both cuz its not 3v3 RoC but 1v1v1v1 FFA
i could never get into FFA... last time i GENUINELY gave it a go
was back on RoC when it SHOWED PEOPLES' account names...
so the second people saw your name they'd whisper each other
and secretly team up.
then they'd "team up with you" and feed the other people info
to maximize damage.... it was miserable.
i went 3-0 and quit forever. then a patch came out stating that
FFA would no longer show player names. so i'd smurf every once
in a blue moon to play and it just seemed like i was AWLAYS the
one player to get consistently 2v1'd or 3v1'd.
i'd be creeping or fast expo'ing only to be Creep jacked on lets say
Gnoll Wood. the second i HAVE to TP OUT the only logical place
to go is either mid (if its a health fountain, otherwise you're boned)
RoC didn't have healing outside of neutral shops with health scroll,
healing fountains, orc's healing ward, human's priest heal, newbelf's
moonjuice, or undead's VERY INSIGNIFICANT BLIGHT REGEN OR
DK's Death pact... which only healed him... when you needed Coil
and Unholy Aura. Not going Coil for Coil Nova nukes = BAD.
not going unholy aura = never gonna escape NOR catch up to enemies.
in the rare situation you went 3 hero, you had to pick between 2 options.
full blown nuke (Coil Nova Carrion/vamp aura) OR semi control w/ sleep
to prevent last second holy lights, last second thunderbolts or any enemy
abilities. similar to how you can now dodge them with casting spells,
or tping, or using invuln potion.
one of the MAIN THINGS i dislike about WC3R - idk any main channels...
idk where to go to talk to anyone or find ppl to play with (US East)
post game, i can't compliment opponent if we just finished playing 1v1
so i can no longer find a 2s partner in solo queue... same deal with 2v2
RT i imagine... cuz you're forced to play with someone random who may
be playing their FIRST EVER wc3 GAME vs a team who has played together
for the past 25 years.
All i know is if I was still in touch with my main 2s partner from RoC (i even
remember his real name, Jeff, back when real names were NOT GIVEN OUT
DUE TO "STRANGER DANGER" days!) lmao
he and i went 42-0 in 2v2 AT US East as dual random, got rank 1.
while also getting rank 2 and rank 3 with our other accts or it would be
one of our accts from rank 1 + 1 smurf for rank 2, vice versa for rank 3.
had rank 2 with Random(my main acct was random only)/Orc - his smurf
then rank 3 we'd mix it up and veto certain maps depending on what we
felt like doing. We had troll accounts too for troll builds such as Tower creepin
or burrow creeping.
We'd go Human/Orc (sometimes we'd switch if we got bored) but i LOVED playin
Orc on Lost Temple in 2v2 and sending peon IMMEDIATELY to expo ramp and
build altar as its otw since you typically build altar/burrow immediately in your
peon line. then take peon and lure it to burrow while sending 2-3 more to lower
hp of the camp at expo while keeping 3 in and 1 to repair or send to re-aggro.
by the time hero popped it was all at 10-25% hp. ezpz. then run mid to green camp
go uphill and attack -> summon wolves -> move FS that way the two lvl1 ranged
would miss 33.3% of the time beautiful days.
Meanwhile human would use 2-3 peasants to power build altar, sometimes 4,
while building farm and at a certain hp on altar you'd send a 2nd worker from
altar to farm to power build it so they finish simultaneously.
continuously build workers to gather wood, get a semi-late barracks but the point
was to FAST creep your expo with militia and BLIZZARD (no water elementals since
back then, i do NOT remember any tome of retraining... someone correct me if i'm
wrong but i do NOT remember any Tome of retraining in patch 1.05 and before)
anyway, the best way to do this is to attack with your AM, move back 1-2 "units"
in terms of space on map, sorta like how "pixels" are screen space, "wc3 units"
were map measurements.
then you ran your militia in front of AM to tank the ogre. and cast blizzard. manually
moving 2 militia to each zerker troll and 2 on ogre.5 would build expo 1 would build
farm (let's say you're in the south base) so you'd build it north of expo, between your base
and let's say my base - aka ally - is to the left, it would bebetween our bases for scouting
and then from there the third farm would be to the right -> outside red camp, back in the
day when you NEEDED to clear camp in order to get zeppelin.
That's why Tower builds were SO BIG on RoC and pre-armor change on FT from fortified
to "Heavy armor" and certain units like casters going to "Unarmored" from "Medium" cuz
ppl used to call Wc3 "Caster Craft" since pretty much NOTHING would counter tri hero-casters
once they got there. not even air like ghoul/garg/tri hero. or fiend/garg dual hero.
Gotta semi-agree with the armor change on Orc and HU casters. As for newbelf, DRYADS
DESPARATELY NEEDED NERFING because that "magic immunity" was ridiculous enough on
top of armor laming... back then there were VERY few options in terms of armor and attack.
buildings were ALL fortified. tanks/mortars/catapults/glaives/meatwagons = siege damage.
gryphons/frostwyrmms/chimaera did piercing til chims got the siege upgrade vs building
and wyrms could freeze buildings vis-a-vi frost upgrade.
Wyverns were HEAVILY NERFED in FT - idk if they utterly TANKED their HP or it was a combo
of lowering hp and armor change because i can NOT tell you how many wins I got in both solo
and 2v2 AT with going FS/TC/Wyvern to start and then if it was a late game, i'd go into casters
typically i'd either go one or the other first. such as Lodge-> Shaman upgrade 1 -> build 4 shaman
-> Master upgrade, that way the 4 shaman had full mana and could lust your entire army. AND
drop lightning shield onto archers/fiends/rifles.
Same with witch doctors only you'd use the time between upgrade 1 and 2 to drop vision wards,
but you'd save mana for big battles. i'm talking 2v2 battles, where you'd make sure you did NOT
overlap stasis. i got so good at placing wards JUST ENOUGH apart that once they got stunned,
and tried to move, BOOM, stunned again, and the second these wards were triggered, replacements
went down. I'd also find ways to sneak (i.e. sorc's invis, just like he'd Invis his MK and my TC to
get behind their back line and/or heroes to nuke their heroes, such as lusted wyverns/fs/tc, inner fire
and i'd go chain/wave on their army, lightning shield on my TC and their ranged, purge hero i was
focusing on with wyvs who were 3-1 with psn at this point, and his MK would only come out of invis
at 40-50% enemy hero HP to BOLT>CLAP>Focus fire and byebye hero.
We'd do similar strats with UD/Human, but he'd invis his MK, and they'd think he went Am/Pally,
rifle/caster/mortar.
DK/Lich/Fiends 2-2 or if i went t3, i'd go DkLich 3-3 fiends with either gargs or Wyrms. depending on
if i could get a safe expo. Since he was human, it was expo to fast expo with normal build, 2-3 footies,
hero, 5-6 militia; 5 to build expo, 1 to put a scout farm down, then come back and start building towers.
Then he'd go get lvl3 OR instantly try to creepjack them OR go for enemy orc burrows, enemy elf wisp,
enemy ud acolytes (or their ghouls, he'd almost always go ghouls first since replacing them would
100% halt army production, and prevent ALL wood income and once ghouls were down, he'd either go
for acolytes or zigs.)
To make this worse, I'd creep jack the UD to keep him from attacking, leaving their ally unsure of where
to go, if he TP'd to help save UD base, jeff would go out of vision, then badabing badaboom, over to
enemy base.
Anyway, going back or our Hu/Orc troll build, it would basically be building Towers JUST outside of
creep camp vision (aggro range) lure them out and creep them. This was also before towers killing
or getting last hit = exp not going to hero. which was brutal. when that started to happen you'd just
hotkey the towers at that location as 2 and your heroes as 1. once you got close to killing, press 2
spam S (stop) and make sure heroes got last hit. FS/TC/BM/Raiders + ensnare + pillage + spikes +
towers in MASS EVERY WHERE.
On Gnollwood was another top shelf place to tower creep.
You could "FE creep" the expo outside of the base if you were top right (where one of the red camps were_
or FAR LEFT (where 2nd of 3 red camps were) or 6pm/5pm either of those bases. where 6pm had last red camp.
Anyway, you wouldn't exactly EXPO unless you COULD get away with it.
You'd have to get 200/100 or 200/200 froom orc ally in order to expo and upgrade to t2 same time + not worry
about resources for towers or whatever. 2nd camp would be merc camp AFTER contesting mid or stealing mid.
You could tell if it was HP or Mana fountain start of game by looking at it in the fog of war, and you can see if its
a dark blue or SUPER DARK BLUE-PURPLE (health // mana) - they were SUPER obvious.
For health fountain games, i'd send my merc camp peons to go tower it up while he power crept mid, i'd send my
first wolves one to the left, one to the right, after summoning them from the mid so they wouldn't know where they
came from. I could typically tell (IF THE OPPONENT SCOUTED in 1v1) based on map which base they were, based
on WHEN their unit showed up, based off whether it was a wisp, aco, peon, militia/peasant (did it JUST turn into a
peasant or was it ALREADY a peasant and how long as it been one. if its a peasant coming down from top ramp
then they were either cross map or (since you're on the left) they'd be cross map 80% of the time or bottom 20% of time.
i played SO MUCH Lost Temple i memorized creep orders/patterns of every race, certain builds of each race, and
further more, certain patterns of certain PLAYERS. there was one guy i semi-felt bad for but since he used to always
trash talk me, accuse me of being a hacker... and the fact i would NEVER HEARD THE END OF IT if I just "left the game"
even though it was early in the morning, i had been up all night....
Poor guy had lost EVERY single match against me and ima be real with you guys... idk HOW he lost to me consistently.
Back when ppl had access to replays... that one website WCR where "VODs" were a thing, where people today do it now
on youtube or twitch - i.e. watching replays and explaining what's going on, why this and that is happening so on so forth.
Well this happened back in the day too on WCR (its where Phreak got his "big break" among some other "shout casters"
as they were called back then).
So you had access to at least 2-3 websites, the main one and a couple rip off/wannabe sites.
Your OWN replay save files.. where you could see what opponent did at X Y Z time... their build, etc.
AS WELL AS OPPONENTS WHO UPLOADED REPLAYS ON WCR (i seriously think that was the site for RoC and TFT)
The one that was exclusively RoC was a community website called "YeOldePubSiut" - where ..lol .. there was a prank
call of this one kid named "AngeiofLight" but he made the i capital so it looked like Angel of Light. omg.. idk HOW they
got his phone # or WHO prank called him (this was late 90s early 2000s mindset of 18-20 year olds, i was young, i was
just passin my 11th-12th sun trip when i bought RoC. pretending to be an 18 yr old to get into guilds. plus back then I
could fake my age easily since there were not voice chats AT THE TIME; there WAS Ventrilo/TeamSpeak/Bumble and
some other things... but i could just say i don't have a mic. i finally got one though... it was one of those PoS mics that
had a base for your desk, then it would stick up into your face. so ugly.
Anyway, me and my 2s partner never needed it since we had played SO MUCH with one another on my first acct that
had around 1700 orc games or 1800 games total (i was less than 100 from thrall icon), around 800 ud games, almost
had the 750 icon. then hu/ne icons were close to the 500. Random was less than 220 games from Deathwing. so sad.
ugh sorry tangents.
The POINT of that HU/ORC build was Raiders/FS/TC/BM = ensnare repair workers, raiders+pillage = resources while
sniping bases, zigs/mw/farm/burrow, mains to prevent tp, goldmines to prevent mining, AoW/Rax/Crypts/etc. you get
the idea. Human would go 3-3 tanks, while i went 3-3 raiders.
Going back to GW- if it was Health fountain, i'd start pulling it out and putting my FS in the health fountain and 2s partner
would be on the way, he'd blizz while i'd summon wolves if our opponents were either scouted once or none (if they
weren't directlynext to us. plus on GW they had to be in one spot no matter what.
We'd had TONS of towers in base, expos, etc. Constantly creep jack them with blizz/ensnare or he'd blizz harass peon
line. while i would go attack their base and they could either TP back to save it or lose a TON of workers. TOO MANY
PPL did NOT MICRO BACK THEN.. only the top 10 knew how to micro... anyway back to that nightelf who always lost to me
one morning after playin for 18-24 hrs....
he seriously BEGGED me to let him win.... i thought he was trolling ... he kept saying "bro pls let me win just ONCE, the sooner
you leave the easier it is to convince ppl that i didn't BEAT YOU and that you could tell ppl i begged to get the win and we can
both save replay and show everyone that i begged and you gave it."
i didn't trust him... had i TRUSTED HIM he would have had a MUCH HIGHER CHANCE of getting a free win... but he would have
to play for it. and if i felt like he did as best as he could, i'd leave. i NEVER believed in free wins or win trading... or gah help me..
the hideousness of ladder that activision created when AMM turned into ELL due to all the forum freaks crying 24/7 instead of
getting better at the game, they blamed their utter inadequacy and lack of being able to win 2-3 games in a row on SMURFS...
the reason they were all HARD STUCK at lvl12 was SOLELY due to smurfs..... not true. at lvl12 you started to actually HAVE TO
WIN CONSECUTIVE GAMES IN ORDER TO LEVEL UP and CONTNUE LEVELING UP.
It was something like match making was +/- 5 or 7 levels of your account. so if you were 20, you could be vs a 15 or 25, or a 13-27
i can't remember which one it was. if you beat someone higher lvl than you, you'd get TONS of exp. if you lost to someone at MAX
lvl difference... man OH MAN, you'd looose SOOOO MUCH EXP. not to mention if you were AFK for long periods of time there was
a thing called "EXP Decay" from account inactivity. i think i got hit by exp decay ONCE and never again, it almost took me from 20
(almost 21) down to one loss from 19.... it was brutal.
But all those people constantly whining on forums were "listened to" since back then blizz actually had employees on the forums..
and yeah. Prior to ELL that was released with patch 1.15, you could go 25-0 and only be level 10 account. Post 1.15 and ELL to
get level 10 you could lose as many games as you wanted and it wouldn't do jack to your exp loss... you could go like 9-9 and be
lvl12 or so. or have 15 wins with 30 losses and be lvl10 or higher, most likely higher.
I just remember being 37-0 in solo at release of FT and i was lvl25 which was OUTRAGEOUS TO ME. you have to understand it
took me a LOOOOOONG TIME and a LOT OF GAMES for my first ever account to not only hit lvl12, but to pass the 12 skill test,
next skill test was hitting lvl20. took me all summer on that account. and i was SO HAPPY because I felt like I TRULY ACHIEVED
SOMETHING IN THE GAME. Since, as i said, IF YOU LOST A GAME OR MULTIPLE GAMES IN A ROW YOU COULD LOSE YOUR LVL
and YES, I DID lose my level at least 2-3 times on that acct in my quest to lvl20. but when I finally hit lvl20 i was BEYOND HAPPY.
I think the w/l was garbage low 80%s but nonetheless..
What was birthed post 1.15 ruined ladder for me.
IF you played regularly you would be stuck in "match making hell" because NO ONE would play that way. Everyone back then found
out if you made an account, went 0-20, you could go 100-20, then 100-40 then 250-40 and since losing 20 games in a row didn't
bother your exp loss AT ALL, you'd be around lvl36-40 with 250-40 w/l ratio.... undeserved. since the people you were playing against
were people who were also coming off 20 loss streaks or long loss streaks (some longer some shorter) but nonetheless the games
lasted maybe 5-10min... sad days.
Only thing that made FT worse was the hack called "zMap" which included a Maphack (obviously), a rather cool "Micro Hack" where
you could set your units' hp% and have it pull back or burrow if you had it researched, and who knows what else but the BIGGEST NO NO
was the fact it had disconnect hack.... the same hack that came in various forms that Blizzard denied for OVER A DECADE
Saying "there's NO SUCH THING AS A DISC HACK" - i think they worded it in that way to have "plausible deniability" to claim they thought
we meant disc = the cd, but we explained IN DETAIL that we did NOT mean the CD but the actual fact we'd be winning and BOOP, D/C'd DROPPED
INSTA-LOSS, NO REPLAY, NO PROOF. Such BS...
I'll never forget my first tournament loss i had on my UD only account that was a total of 147-0 in tournament only.
Played with my FT 2s partner (who i got rank 1 in 2s AT with many years in a row as dual human, wish i could figure out how to get in touch
with him and check to see if hes still alive.. he was barely in his 20s and was prescribed an extremely HIGH DOSE of Seroquel at the time.
AND i think Ambien... so i worried bout him then and to this day even though he's probably forgotten me)...
Anyway, we had many funny strats on RoC (me/jeff) as well as many funny strats on ft (me and my broski that i can't recall at all atm)
Creme de la creme level of FFA this game.
Much blade, very storming. Me happy.
Smote is indeed the past form of Smite
Facing that many towers in an FFA match must feel like purgatory for WC3 players.
grubby the shin killer kicker
another good intro to wc3 video 😂
*edit. I mean what a great background music 😅
lol shin kicking fights. that sounds semi-wholesome until you remember just how BAD it sucks to get kicked in the shin
or if you've skateboarded then you know what its like to take a board edge to the shin... or a ledge from concrete.
but yeah i'd say that's a rather WHOLESOME way to go about "fighting" because ALL the fights i got into we threw hands..
even me and my best friends... hell, even otw the lunch we'd get into a fight, over something SMALL, like always
throw hands for a minute or so, then be huffing and gruffing to lunch, get our lunch and LOL SIT NEXT TO EACH OTHER
back to best friends in less than 7 hands.
i saw in your twitch comments; someone said you have an amazing childhood memory or he just had nothing but bad ones.
that's sad for that guy :( but yeah... i have an excellent memory when it comes to certain things and an absolute HORRIBLE
memory when it comes to other things.
i.e. I can tell you a build order for every race, in every match up on EVERY MAP in RoC and TFT from FT's release to 1.20d
I can tell you dreams I had when i was 1-4 yrs old, childhood memories. like the first time i crawled out towards the road,
idk how i got out there, but i know my oldman lit my butt up when we got inside, even tho he was more upset at himself and
my mom for letting a 2 year old find a way to sneak out the house. and see, that's what i mean, IDK HOW I GOT OUT THERE
and i KNEW not to go in the road but i distinctly remember the feeling of the road's asphalt on my baby soft skin hands as
i placed one down, then the other, went for a third and boom SCOOPED UP, yelling, spankin, lololol.
or when my sister would throw knives at me and chase me like a serial killer but she "doesn't remember"
its wild how SHE "doesn't remember" 90% of our childhood, teens, 20s, 30s, etc and shes only 5 yrs older than me....
she's so different now. so fake.
but i can't tell you anything about LoL builds or DOTA2 builds or hero names for DOTA2... can't tell you 95% about WoW
esp now that the expo has released when i pre-ordered it 2 months ago... only for me to realize i got it too early.
as for fights i can tell you blow-by-blow recaps of ALL my fights...
test
when you were fighting mid, you should have pulled dragon out of fountain of health range
move your bm and ranged into range and kill it with the dragon closer to your base.
did that all the time on gnollwood and any other map with health fountains with dragons.
Grubbs, I loved the AOE4 content you posted way back in the day. Are you returning to that franchise anytime? There's a new patch dropping tonight with civ changes and most notably a quick match FFA option.
"I am pissing everyone off, thats the only down side" story of my life...
Sounds like muay thai training ahaha
Marketplaces gets a new random item over time, if there is no empty space, it shuffles one item away for the new one. I think thats what happened for your True Shot Aura flute.
Grubby talkin about his 10 yo UFC experience, lmao xD
Parple was sneaky.
Standing with 100 food in a towered up base.
I bet he wins many games that way. You think he went afk and you have to mop up the farms. BUT THEN you lose your entire army in his base.
Even with your macro the bank at the end was starting to run dry.
Grubby, I think someone from your village watched "Who Am I", starring Jackie Chan.
There's a scene, where Jackie and some goon start rapid-kicking each other in the shins for like solid fifteen seconds. Maybe this is the origin?
OMG haha - the end is priceless
Parpl seems to be main final villain for FFA now.
Who needs Dark Ranger, Staff of Silence is busted. Grats on all the MMR~
Just in time for dinner, I love it
Explains why Dutch people are so tall. All the kicking elongates their chins.
You need to WW and Bladestorm his back line near the end with Purple. And is Pillage on during this time? probably help a lot during low times of getting gold or lumber
i guess an Orcish nick would be "Shinsplitta" hahah
At some point we gotta call seal clubbing what it is lolol
Anyway, good game
Around 33:00 does that Bloodlusted peasant build faster? His animation looks faster to me
So funny story, To start the video. :D
A stacked BM is godlike. I've won 4v4 soley from BM power
brother's HP, yea. That's a real question!! d:
well played purple. it was entertaining. satisfying .
thank you Grubby
Something that will never not be funny to me Is the interaction between Hex and Orb of Lightning. The unit is hexed and then purged but it stands still like not understanding exactly what happened to them.
Edit: 53:00 did the ends justify the means when the DR suicided herself only to steal a Batrider to kill another one? Didn't seem worth it but who knows.
A 50 min game earns 2 MMR, Grubby's at 5026 and #1 is 5419. It would take around 200 straight wins to earn #1... Take your time, Grubby XD
this game was a total seal clubbing
Nothing in WC3 is cooler to me than high level heroes
Insane game)
What if cannon towers also got barrage like tanks?
For future: “thanks no team atak my” ;)
Hey Grubby the kind of ritualized fight you are talking of is called a "comment fight". And btw some animals in fact do damage to their reproductive organs, even with full intent. For example Llamas try to bite off each others testicles so they have their competition gone. So some animals are indeed extremely fierce about it, not just obvious animals like Lions et al.
full on human vs orc 3v1
FOR THE HORDE
If I was purp I would have left at the 40 min mark
Daily ffa ❤
whataaa whataaaa whatttaaaaaaa?! 2mmr?!! i died laughing hahahah
Did you cover your shins in lard as well? kappa
Mouse died lol 😂
2️⃣‼️
0.037 mmr per minute nice
Why decide between ffa and Tower Defense when you can do both? -last guy probably
DId you guys growl and exposed your fangs? :D
It seems like Gruuby are playing RPG not RTS
4:40 ah yes. The more aged cousin of someone called Iran.
Not surprised (we have that kind of people in France) but surprised he was alone and that there were no head stomping on the bitume (you read me right). Indeed it was an educated familly compared to the average.
Hello, can anyone explain why Grubby stops his peons from collecting gold please?
He stops when he goes over 80 population to prevent mining at 60% tax.
@@michaelwilson3980 ok I didn't know that there was a tax.
I'm glad I learned this, thank you!
at the start of your video: [LEGENDARY] NEVER. GIVE. UP. - WC3 - Grubby
you complained about people not understanding the matchmaking 50/50 ratio
yet in your video here you are complaining about the matchmaking setting you against a 15 years old , after you defeated a 10 yrs old.
I am dissapointed.
+2 mmr... no way dude 💀
grubby don't you have brothers? where we're they?
now i get it he was playing the gold game, and was hoping he could kill you with army against 3 heroes!!!
Probly best Orc game you've had though, they super Resilient should start rolling Orc more often you'll get up there but everybody loves Night Elves.
Cultured 10 year olds kicking shins lol
+2 MMR?? Lmao dude what an actual joke.
at this point there's nothing in the game except the sheer enjoyment of it if you got the skill to pull it off i guess.
i tried some campaign chill yesterday and i swear literally every single mission reforged reared its ugly head at me with some weird bugs, even though i played it on classic setting.
medivh circling back to sit on top of arthas after firmly saying "i've wasted my time here"
mal'ganis missing from the cutscene where he introduces himself.
arthas not doing his hammer pose at the end of the stratholme map.
muradin tucked away behind the dialogue box during one of the northrend cutscenes.
captain icon having a knight icon animating during cutscene.
kel'thuzad icon colors all ****ed up and glitchy.
adding unit to subgroup caused arthas' icon to animate as if i clicked him, but speaking with the new units voice.
and then, the grand finale, the end campaign cinematic having the in-game map music playing over it.
i rage-quit the cinematic to restart it without the music and on the mission selection screen the end-game cinematic was on top of mission 2 of the human campaign rather than at the bottom under the "frostmourne" map.
ugh.
i went to the forums to complain and even the god damn forum front page has the "WARCRAFT III REFORGED" colors glitched out.
just perfect.
10/10
at this point my only motivation for continuing my campaign is seeing how many more bugs i can encounter for a cheap chuckle.
ajajaj juegas muy bien, el chiste es 2 puntos

Why wouldn't you sell one of your claws of attack and get the war drums? You have seven thousand gold😅😂😂 Sorry, ten thousand gold
Second?
After years, name of the kid turned out to be not Iraq, but Osama Bin Laden
the reason giraffes fight with their neck... dude, it's a 3 meter long mace. it's not because they're nice. you try getting hit by that.
classic arab anekdot they only strong if more or older and bigger
