The test can be attempted online twice. If a customer fails after the first two tries, they will be prompted to go to a DMV office to take the test a third time.
There are now TWO options for taking the written knowledge exam for your Driver's License, in-person or online.
To take the test online, participants must verify their identify and agree to be monitored during the exam.
Unfortunately, permit exams cannot be taken online and require a visit to a #DMV office.

I bought the dmv cheat sheets hoping i would pass it n dont get me wrong it does help you, but some questions they gave me in the DMV test weren't in the cheat sheets so i do agree with u its better reading the manual n making some notes📝

Hi. Yes you're right. You can still use the same link as long as you're taking the exam Mon-Fri 8am-4pm. It should give you access to the exam.

Hi question, when you are in the process of taking the test is there someone there to help guide you through what to do before starting the test?
Is there alot of people watching you take the test online thats whst im afraid of.
There is no one real person there to guide u but once you add the plug-in to your chrome browser it’ll lead you to another page where there’ll be a quick video on the steps you take before officially starting the test. As to your other question, no nobody is watching you in real time but the AI from the plug-in. A real person may review ur footage if you fail or quit the test tho. Hope this helps. Good luck

It’s 36 questions. If you fail your permit test 3 times, then you have pay 39 dollar again to take it

You can take online written test. Only applicants BELOW 18 will have to get their parents sign the application.

Hi. You need a valid ID. You'll need it to have your picute taken with it before taking the virtual exam.
Examples of acceptable identity documents include: U.S. Birth Certificate, U.S. Passport, U.S. Armed Forces ID Cards, Certificate of Naturalization, Permanent Resident Card, or a foreign passport with a valid I-94. The I-94 expiration date must be more than 2 months from the date you visit the field office.

you still need to go to the DMV in person to process your application if you haven't, then you can schedule an appointment for the road test. they won't let you take the road test without an appointment.

Wait for the email that they'll send so you can go to DMV to take pic, fingerprint and get your permit.

yes. Just show to them the confirmation email that you passed. All instructions are in the email as well. Just follow them.

I believe renewals and those from another state are capable of taking it. I know for renewals you can avoid taking the test if you have gotten your renewal notice. There is also an eLearning course available for renewals.

I wish i would havw known this before. Spent 1 hour in line only for them to tell me i needed to check in. Only to wait another 30 mins for my number to be called. Now to wait who know how long to wait in the first line i waited before. The DMV is such a headache

No it is not open book as there is a software program that can detect cheating. DMV exams at the office are not open book.

Hi Im not sure about this actually. But my guess is you need to have a driver's license to be able to purchase a car.
For some background. I took the regular permit test in person, I failed 2 times. For the third attempt I decided to take it online. I was able to pass the exam online. I was sent an email confirmation confirming I did pass.
However, today I went to the dmv where I orginally failed. They say I have no record of passing the permit online. They only said I still have a third chance left.
Back in my email. It did have an option in scheduling an appointment. It also carried a confirmation number. I was thinking that maybe if I tried applyiny to a different dmv from the one i orginally took it. I could possibly get my permit that way.

@@giotube ok now I'm concerned. I finished the test and they told me to uninstall the extension and everything. They said the result would be given in less than 24 hours after test completion but that hasn't happened yet. But I did take it on a Friday so that's maybe why?

Hey! I did the online written knowledge test and passed! A white screen came up at the end and said “Congratulations!” And I called the DMV and they said it takes about 24-48hrs to get a confirmation email that confirms that I passed the written knowledge test! Is that how it goes?

And make sure you have proper internet connection.

For me, I tried times. At end it said results will sent via email. Then I went to DMV and the system didn't reflect any attempts I made online. They asked to take on the spot exam and everything else then was smooth.

@@giotube Hi, I went to that site, but after I clicked Confirm, it says "DMV Test Registration Error 500. Test Record Could not be Located". It seems we need our own link from an email after making a payment. But I don't see where I can make a payment. I did the online application from the DMV My Account website, but no option to pay. Do you have to be over eighteen years old to take it online? And where do you purchase the exam because when I use the application site to apply for a ID/Drivers License the option for me to take it online doesn’t pop up.
Minors can now take it but you might have to take it in person if you cannot apply online.
I don’t recommend it. After successfully pass the online test the two dmv closest to my home do not have appointments available until a month later😞. I should probably just do a walk-in test and get a permit immediately ☹️. 50 dollars non-refundable 😣
I did my test online. Passed it. And just walked in at DMV to get my permit. That's it. No need to schedule an appointment.
