How’s a Crate Motor Get Built? Part 2 of Our BluePrint Engines Factory Tour

- A while back, we got a firsthand look at how a crate motor goes from testing to production. Now we’re really getting our hands dirty thanks to the folks at BluePrint Engines. We tour their engine assembly shop and get to see how an engine begins as a bare block and individual parts to become a finished crate motor. From assembling pistons and sealing oil pans to setting the timing and torquing-down cylinder heads, follow along as the BluePrint team puts a motor together.

Respect to the line workers. The world would come to a halt without these people. THANK YOU
That 632 is awesome that's a lot of motor for what they sell it for.
Interesting behind the scenes assembly work areas .. 👍👍
Great engines want that sbc 454
I like how a lot of the assembly is done vertically.
other than the camshaft maybe, horizontal is preferred
Excellent video.
Just a thought; after you align the cam bearings, what might be beneficial would be to have a camera to make sure all the holes are aligned properly. It would maybe add 30 seconds to do(just an estimate).
Amazing engine assembly...thx Justin..
Sheeeeeesh....what a commercial!!!!! Mr. Guy smiley is Waaaaaaay over ............
I would love to see a standard 350 short block for sale, many of us build cars that are just basic cruisers and want good reliable SBC power.
I’m pretty Gm performance parts sells one
@@georgef1176 yep, for over $5500. I’m talking about a $1500/$2000 short block.
Exactly what I need now. A solid, reasonably priced 350 short block. Please, please Blueprint
@@aurktman1106 $1500? Hahahahaha!! Those days are long gone. You voted for Joe Biden so you get $5000 short block and $25 McDonalds
And a $4600 Vortec L-31 from Chevy in todays over inflated pricing it's actually not bad. $1500 short block thats crazy talk.@@SOLDOZER
Is there not quality checks after every operation?
How often are the machines checked for accuracy?
All the time and they are very accurate, I used to work for car manufacturer that used machines like that to torque all suspension bolts and wheels. That's where all of it was designed
I'm lucky enough to own one. 383...
Thanks for watching !
@SummitRacing purchased it from Summit. BluePrint 383... Thanks
Sounds like you are cheve !! Based.
Cool
No stress plate when honing?????????
Be cool if they had an engine dyno room.
No double row timing chain? An option?
Does Blueprint no longer sell bare engine blocks?
In part one they said that they don't offer bare blocks but that will be changing soon. As long as they don't price them up there with the big boys they may sell pretty good...
So are the engines produced for factory production? Likes of Chevrolet GM. Ford. Alongside custom or made to order engines? Does this automation mean we can get a great engine cheaper? These are the guys who build Summit Racing engines?
DaNg once them machine for the piston is fully Design & functional and operating Jeff is long gone budyy sob !!!
handcuff that boy ...
Can you send me one. Want to do some testing for you.
Is it just me or do they seem to be kinda reckless?
Your right sorry that way to fast .
Summit you COULD NOT have failed any worse with a host for these videos. WHAT. A. CLOWN. SHOW. 🤘🇺🇸🇷🇺🧂
that Rottler hone is erotic
piston bore hone
Stop it. Get some help!!
For Christ's sake, it is an oil GALLERY not a "galley" ....it is not the kitchen in a ship
Pretty nice set up. Shouldn't really call them blueprint engines though, some important blueprint steps left out of the process....
Honestly not impressed. Like any other engine assembly plant. Surprised to see how little lube they put on their parts
Don't need a bunch of lube when you prime the oil pump with drill! They probably pump oil in engine with their on pump, don't have to use engines oil pump. Alot of machine shops do it that way.
