My favorite song by ETC. Brings out a multitude of emotions, mostly dichotomies. Thanks Zach for the great request and always Don for a great reaction. I think you got pulled into that one a little bit.
This is a re-recording. The vocals are better on the original version. There is even a live version on youtube that is better than this. I recommend listening to the original. The album cover shown has multiple re-recordings that were done when Conley was older and didn't have the same vocal abilities or had to be done differently enough to not get busted for royalties.
It’s sort of like another song I heard. I can’t remember if it was a Kid Rock song or Big & Rich but it said “You never stop loving somebody, you just learn to love the one you’re with”.
Another classic song from Earl Thomas Conley is Brotherly Love with Keith Whintey if you haven't done a reaction to it, the music video help tell the story.
Yeah tough situation to be in he's still in love with his wife but he loves his mistress even more, and he's saying she done nothing wrong or he'd be out the door, wow bad deal best not to get in that situation but it happens. Great request and reaction Don, I'm not sure if you have ever reacted to a song by Charley McClain, called "RADIO LOVER" really nice song by her easy listening music give it a try if you haven't REACTED to it. Thanks
It is not complicated at all. Do not commit adultery. Songs like "Almost Persuaded" and "On the Other Hand", the second by Randy Travis speak to that. "Almost Persuaded" is from the early 1960s and I remember my Dad commenting that if a man away from home whether a trucker of a businessman, whatever, has gone to the extent of dancing with a strange woman in bar he already, probably, passed to point of no return. Then again, my Dad was not a Christian...
Listen to the original. He says he will tell his wife about the other woman. So she isn't okay with it yet. And these things don't just happen. Consequences of your actions.
I'm pretty sure it's him, but this is a different recording than I'm used to. He sounds older and he's struggling to match the original. The music seems off, too. The same instruments are all playing the same notes, but it's mastered differently.
@@chrisdutton2975 I agree. It's a re-recorded version from years later. Don always seems to find those instead of the original. It's sad. I wish he would experience the original hits.
ain't nothin' good about that situation!! Try "I Can't Win For Losing You" or "Nobody Falls Like A Fool" - both his great songs and not as bad a situation at this song.
This song is sung with such commitment and passion, it's like he is confessing his sin(s) for real.
This song is uniquely beautiful yet heart breaking I can see something like this happing more than we probably know.Good reaction.
An All-Time classic
Earl was one of the greatest voices ever
Sang it with an aching heart.

I love this song. Once in a blue moon is better

i take is as he's holding his wife and loveing his girlfriend, because he seems to be singing it as if he's talking to his girfriend

You sure that's Earl Thomas Conley? Doesn't sound like him to me.
