I swear, when the e30 full restoration series is over, sometime in the future, I will watch every episode back to back for the full restore it experience. its gonna be epic. bro you could make a full on documentary outta it I swear
I think this sometimes as well Koneko. These cars are going to take a long time to restore and film everything like I do. But once they're done... I think I will make a small documentary style video talking about the whole process and the story behind it. Thanks man.
That was a big teardown. I assume it will be faster as it's mainly the paintwork that needs fixing? Even with just a new paint job and minimal repairs, It will look really good. But yours is going to be like driving a brand new car so interested to see both!
It was indeed. It took a while! But you're absolutely right Cheshire. This is more of a typical style restoration that will actually be finished quite soon. My style is a bit over the top, but its the only way I can do it and be happy. It's each to their own and I'm glad I can help Antonio on this project and have some satisfaction of a complete project vicariously through him. The car is already resprayed and back at my house. It looks brand new. I can't wait to have my two resprayed. Cheers lad.
That was fun!!!!! To watch! Wish i can be there! Edited. Normal its annoying people to break down videos into 2 3 parts. But not this! Im sure lot of us will enjoy slow detailed together w voice over action 🤙
Well done mate, you've done so much in this episode and the restoration of this m3 is going fast foreward ! Can't wait to see the chassis painted ! Great ! Have fun guys !
Love watching this, big inspiration! Keep it up! And one tip for welding holes like the small holes from the aftermarket alarm, take a piece of copper tubing and whack it flat. Hold that against the hole from the back. Much easier to fill holes like that. The weld wont stick to the copper and the tube will extract alot of heat aswell so it wont burn through as easy.
Oh thank god!!! I thought I was the only one that removed my engine to fix my door locks. I knew someone else out there also knew that this was the proper way!!
BTW; you are getting pretty handy with welding all those holes, but 1 tip; buy a thick strip of copper. Hold that to the hole on the other side of the panel and you can weld simply over it, the copper won't stick to your welding and it is also a great heat-absorber!
Great work man! 😊 it's great seeing you work together/having extra pair of hands doing a job. Looks like a big job. It's different but, last week I dismantled my PS3 to give it/the fan a thorough clean, new thermal paste and put it back together. I'd never done it before.
Thank you Liam! It's great having another pair or hands I must say. That's great to hear, I remember doing the same with my PS3. Felt great to fix it :) You can now do that as a job! If only we all still had ps3's :D
@@RestoreIt you're welcome! 😁 Yh, I bet it is. Can get so much done and less heavy lifting which is good. Yh, I've watched videos on how to clean them the past few years and I've had it over a decade and hadn't used it since last year. There was so much dust in it and Sony use a cheap thermal paste so it's best to change it. It feel good to clean it 😊 I was worried about messing it up but luckily did it 🤣 aha. I don't know if I could do it as a job lol! My brother in law has one so I could clean his if he wanted me to. Wanted to play my old games. I don't get rid of consoles/games. Just replace if they don't work :P I have a ps4 too but not played many games. I'm so picky. I have plenty of ps2 and 3 games.
Great video once again man! Cool to see good film work with actually interesting footage of something I care so much about. One day I'd like to restore my Honda Prelude to her former glory. Seeing this stuff gives me so much inspiration. So thanks man, keep it up!
@@RestoreIt I would strongly recommend that Antonio consider removing the front glass to check for rust. A common problem on E30 M3, especially if the glass has ever been replaced previously.
Normally I don't comment, but just a quick tip from my experience. Avoid silicone sprays(WD-40) anywhere near a car destined for a repaint. It can cause "fish-eyes" in new paint. You are probably aware of this but perhaps others will find this useful. I really enjoy your e30 series as a long time owner 👍 Thanks for the excellent videos.
Goddamn the E30 M3 also looks so nice in white.. I usually see them in red around here (that is, if I have the godly chance to see one driving around and start drooling all over the place).
Just a little tip, you need the head of the engine crane as close to the engine as possible. Gives you the maximum amount of lift and reach. Will make the job far easier.
Stripped in no time!! Check out Redish Motorsport on YT, they do underside restorations on E46 M3s. They’ve formulated a sprayable seam sealer that looks better than factory, worth looking into for yours. Also POR15 rust treatment is brilliant for rust repair and prevention ! Keep up the good work!
I have to ask this but is your plan to restore the cars you work on with a view to sell them on...? The level of workmanship you have and the attention to detail is staggering... you work like a Trojan!
Hey mate excellent work as always, really enjoy watching your videos. Also appreciate the direct details you put in with your camera angles and editing, keep up the great work. I'm sure your probably finished this m3 job already, its a shame cause i would have asked you if you could have taken some measurements of an NLA part. The rear plastic brackets, the ones on the rear bumper not the chassis. I'm doing a restoration and would like to make the part cause i can't find it anywhere.
This reminds me of when I had my 88 M-3. Good memories of the best sports car I ever had. But I never took it apart that much, just regular servicing. Nobody removes all that for just a re-spray. Are your changing color?
i imagine theyre not doing this for free as its not his m3. Maybe the guy requested it be done this way and theyre respraying every single painted surface. who knows
Restore It I get tears in my eyes every time I see a picture of an M-3. I got rid of mine in a moment of frustration over maintenance costs. I regret selling it so much.
I need to express my admiration for your work and dedication , I need your help I am trying to build an engine stand could please give me dimension of the engine stand that you have specially the plate that hold the engine its size and the groove dimension and orientation
@@RestoreIt no, I prefer you doing the snaps to completing the objective , rather than showing the "Other guy" helping and how"..;) But still , great job.;)
These tear downs can be fun but exhausting at the same time. You soon learn and wonder why the fuck some of these engineers would design something impractical when it could have been done better. Engineers design, mechanics fix their fuck ups

Nice video! Cant wait to the next one.
Haha... I'm self aware kay. Cheers francisco!
I think I speak for everyone: We Want More! lol
I have much more of this to come :)
yes (Y)
I hope you will come out the next part soon , I would love to see how it is restored and perfected so it can work again !

Don’t mind killing my time for this series
I try and pack in as much work/progress as I can :)

Thanks Anpredictable! It's a good time working on E30's that's for sure.
Excellent restoration video
Thanks as always Elektronik!
Amazing start ... Congrats. Awaiting for next.
Thanks Kavinsandron! Lots of this to come.
Keep it up! Always enjoy a tear down
Cheers dude, me too!
17:15 - Excellent work on filling those holes.
Wow, so much work goes into taking it apart!
This is only partially apart as well. Going all the way is when it get crazy. I will show you that on the tourng when I start the full resto :)
Always admire your attention to detail, even when disassembling.. look forward to more videos.
Hi 👋👋👋 well done guys, quickly disassembled and prepared the car for restoration, waiting for the continuation 👌🏽✌🏻 🇷🇺
Thanks dude! We made this look easy, it took a while haha.
Awesome dude. I have an 89 m3. This series is gonna be a big help for me.
Can’t wait for it watching all the way from Southern California

Ich freue mich schon auf die Fortsetzung 👍

Thanks Wolfie! Me either. I hope the lockdown ends soon as well.
I'm glad you know your limits. Keep at it and you will get there one day!
That trunk floor totally clean :o
No rust! So lucky...

I would very much like to see the restoration of the BMW E34 on your channel
Great job.
I can really see your skills devellopping.
Great work here lads keep there lockdown busting videos coming 👍👍
LOVE your series! Could you please explain why you took all this apart just to paint the car?

I cannot believe that this car is still in it's original state, and how solid it is.

В каком потрясающем состоянии машинка. Удачи в работе!
Well done. Thanks for sharing
I had no idea your gas/petrol over there was blue. Haha, you learn something new every day. (I'm from the US for reference)
Thank you for new video :)
Thanks for watching :)
In North Carolina, that would be called a Dirt Dauber nest. Wasps make paper nests. Cool series!
The touring in the corner ❤
I played it backwards. You are really quick in assembling! ;-)
This will be absolutely beautiful when it’s finished 👌🏼 is he going for a complete nut&bolt restoration?
It will Paul! And not a complete nut and bolt resto, but quite thorough. Like i say it'll be finished sooner than mine :)
Restore It as the saying goes
Rome wasn’t built in a day 👍🏼
that is too awesome, love watching this.
Wow! That was a cool break down!
Can't wait to see the next episode!
Great Video!
13:32 - Nice to hear that Charlie Brown's parents helped you out a bit.
I truly hope he will remove the glass before the respray.

I wish you were here in California to help with my E30 restoration.
Just fly your car over :D

Thanks Daniel!
I really want one, but they are hard to find where I'm from. I cant wait to see the next video :) nice video, keep up the good work xx
I needed it
You got it :)
I don't need Roman, this video is enough
I'm glad to hear it, I'm not sure they'll be so happy! :D

More Please & Thank You ‼️😜🤣🤣🤣
Beautiful!
Holy crap that body is in great contition. I can't see any rust?
Yeah it's never lived in wet countries, no rust!

Waiting for complition..😀😀
